We also note the emergence of previously unavailable systems, which make the station wagon even more attractive to potential buyers.

In neighboring Ukraine, the station wagon is offered in three trim levels: the initial Base received very modest equipment. So the basic version has 2 front airbags, heating rear window, folding rear seats, satisfactory protection of the engine compartment and ABS is optional.

The average-cost Authentique package, in addition to the equipment available in the initial version, received a power steering that can be adjusted (height). There are also front electric windows, central locking, and a good audio system (CD, MP3, Bluetooth, radio, USB) - control buttons are located on the steering wheel. The big minus of the previous generation was a modest interior and a limited selection of options, which cannot be said about the second generation.

Of course, it’s not all rosy and roses have thorns. In order for the price of the Logan MCV to remain the same, it was necessary to use cheap hard plastic. One of the advantages is now an adjustable steering column.

Engine, gearbox, fuel consumption

During the test, the Logan MCV was equipped with one of the most famous engines in Renault, a 1.5 DCI diesel with a power of 90 hp. Such engines are installed on Duster in Russia. The engine has been slightly modified, with the same power and increased torque to achieve smooth acceleration.

The engine itself has become quieter, which also contributes to better sound insulation in the car and is more balanced. Few vibrations reach the pedal or shift lever. These overall improvements have added to the comfort of the car.


One of the best in its segment from Renault, the 1.5 DCI diesel engine has become even more economical. If you want even lower mileage, you can always turn on a feature that will adjust certain engine settings and climate control settings - but you should be aware that this will have a significant impact on the car's speed.

The 1.5 diesel engine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, which is also found on the Duster. Reliable and a great match for this engine, and fifth gear is very long and well suited for long distance country trips.

Loading, safety

Pros:

  • The platform on which the Logan MCV station wagon is built is already outdated. It is reliable, unpretentious, but drum brakes are a thing of the past. But for this segment, quality and reliability are most important, above all.

And now, on its basis, a second-generation Logan MCV station wagon has been built, which debuted under the Dacia brand at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.

Unlike its predecessor, which is sold in Russia as , the new Logan MSV will henceforth be exclusively five-seater. Its overall length is 4,490 mm, which is 430 mm more hatchback Sandero 2.

Sales of the second generation of the budget Logan sedan in Europe started much earlier than in Russia - the first cars arrived at dealers at the end of last year, but under the name Dacia Logan. This car is produced in Romania and has some differences from the “Russian” version, which we will talk about.

Externally, the Dacia Logan II sedan is absolutely identical to the Russian version, with the exception of one minor detail: the badge on the radiator grille. Otherwise, there are no special changes, including in dimensions, but it is possible that Logan for Russia will receive slightly different bumpers.

The interior of the Dacia Logan is also in many ways similar to its “twin brother” Renault, but the front panel in Europe is offered in a different design: instead of rectangular ventilation holes, stylish round ones are used, and the climate control unit has a different, more ergonomic layout. Among other differences, we note the use of a steering wheel of a less pleasant design (at least in some ways Russian version better).

If speak about technical specifications, then the main difference between Dacia Logan and Russian version Logan lies in the line of engines. In Europe it is much wider and the main role here is played by a new 0.9-liter turbocharged power unit capable of producing 90 hp. power and 135 Nm of torque. The engine has 3 cylinders, 12 valves and is distinguished by decent efficiency: for 100 km, the new Dacia Logan with this engine in “Eco” mode consumes about 5.3 liters of gasoline. In addition, Dacia Logan 2nd generation in Europe is offered with gasoline engine volume of 1.2 liters and a power of 75 hp, as well as two 1.5-liter diesel engines with a power of 75 and 90 hp, having an average fuel consumption of four liters. All engines used comply with the requirements of the Euro-5 environmental standard, while power units of the Euro-4 standard are supplied to Russia. The transmission line in Europe is the same: 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.

In Europe, Dacia Logan 2 is also offered in three configuration options, but they are called differently: basic equipment received the name “Acces”, followed by “Ambiance”, and the top-end “Laureate” equipment completes the list.

Already in the initial configuration, it is available to European buyers ABS system and system directional stability ESP with TCS function, which in Russia is not offered at all, even as an additional option. In addition, in the “Acces” package, the second generation Dacia Logan is equipped with side airbags and front seats with longitudinal adjustment.
The Ambiance package includes higher-quality seat upholstery, automatic air conditioning, adjustable headrests, body-color bumpers, wheel covers and fog lights.
