Car window tinting by hand. How to tint a car with your own hands: detailed instructions

It seems that many motorists more than once looked with hidden envy at cars passing by and toned to zero. Of course, high-quality tinting changes appearance car, making it visually appealing. However, in addition to a purely aesthetic role, car window tinting also performs useful functions. For example, it allows you to reduce the temperature in the car interior in summer, without letting in a significant share of solar energy, and in winter it contributes to the accumulation of heat - after all, the sun's rays warm up a dark surface better. In addition, tinting performs a protective function, hiding from the eyes of ordinary people what is in the cabin and trunk (if it is a hatchback or station wagon) of the car. The only inconvenience that tinting can cause is a decrease in visibility at night.

Toning to zero

Glasses of many modern cars can be tinted at the factory. The manufacturer often determines the comfortable degree of tinting (throughput of the tint film) in accordance with international safety standards. The traffic police have no complaints about such tinting. If the film used to tint the windows of the car has a bandwidth that does not meet the specified standards, the traffic police can fine the car owner and force him to remove the tint. However, we are talking only about the glass of the front doors: according to GOST, the throughput of the tint film for these windows should not exceed 30% (that is, the tinting should absorb no more than 30% of the light).

These standards do not apply to the glass of the rear doors and trunk, which today many automakers themselves tint on the assembly line. Therefore, they can be tinted "to zero", that is, with a tint film, the throughput of which is from 5 to 15%.

Let's say you decide to tint the windows of your car. But you don’t trust companies that are engaged in tinting and want to do everything yourself. Commendable. We will try to help you with some tips.

You, for sure, are not your own enemy, and therefore you must approach the choice of film responsibly. First, remember that a good film, which is durable and has optimal transmission not only for sunlight, but also for the driver's eyesight, is not cheap. However, is it worth saving the budget when it comes to high-quality car tinting? Secondly, it is worth deciding which glass will be tinted. You can tint all the windows of the car, only the throughput of films for the windshield, rear and side windows will be different. Suppose you want to tint all the windows of your car. Then a film with a bandwidth of 50% is suitable for the windshield, 35% for the front side windows, and rear windows and trunk windows can be tinted with a film with a bandwidth of 15%.

In addition to the degree of transparency of the film, its color must also be taken into account. The optimal choice is charcoal gray, which is comfortable for the eyes of car passengers and well prevents sunlight and prying eyes from entering the cabin.

You have purchased the tint film, now you need to prepare the tools, materials and the car windows themselves for pasting. From the tools you will need a building hair dryer, a clerical knife, a spray gun, a marker, a plastic spatula, a needle, a piece of clean cloth. Of the materials - the actual tint film, soap solution (5 drops of washing liquid per 1.5 liters of water).

Now it remains to dismantle and clean the glass. We advise you to take them out, since pasting a car window with a tint film without removing them is a difficult task and you cannot do without experience. It is better not to risk and take out the glass. Then they should be thoroughly washed with soapy water, difficult dirt removed with a solvent, and then washed again with soapy water. The next stage is the preparation of the "pattern". To do this, you should take a piece of tint film, attach it to the glass and mark the cut margins with a marker, leaving tolerances of 5-7 millimeters. Then we cut this pattern with a clerical knife.

Council number 3. Car window tinting film.

The soap solution that we used to clean the glass from dirt will also come in handy in the pasting process. It is important to remember that this procedure must be carried out in a clean room, where there is no dust, otherwise microparticles may get under the film, which will damage its appearance. We apply a thin layer of soapy water to the surface to be glued from the spray gun.

This is necessary so that the piece of film with which the glass is glued can be freely moved over its surface during fitting. Then wash your hands and wet your fingertips with soapy water. We take the tint film in one hand, and with the other we remove the protective film from its inner surface. Wet the freed adhesive side with soapy water. Then, being careful, apply the film on a clean and damp surface, making sure that there are no horizontal wrinkles. Vertical - allowed. Then we begin to carefully level the film with a plastic spatula, moving it from the center of the glass to the edges. In this case, the film must be heated with a building hair dryer.

Difficult task? Very. Therefore, it is better to paste over the glass surface with a tint film with an assistant who, for example, will warm up its surface while you level the vertical folds.

It is very important to ensure that the film adheres as tightly as possible to the glass, to prevent the formation of bubbles. If this could not be avoided, and bubbles appeared on the surface of the film, air or excess soap solution can be removed from them by piercing the bubble with the tip of a needle. The hole will be microscopic and will not affect the appearance and life of the tint film. When the film is applied, the treated glass is left for several hours to dry and taken for another. Having completed all the operations, being careful, we install the tinted windows in place - the work is ready.

Many motorists, when buying a car, try to paste over its glass with a tint film. Passengers feel more comfortable in a tinted car because the tinted windows hide them from the eyes of passers-by and protect them from sunlight in hot summer weather.

Having decided to tint the car, you can simply take it to a specialist. But, nevertheless, it is possible to do it with your own hands, which will be discussed in this article.

After you decide to equip your iron friend with tinting, you should choose the tinting film itself, which differs both in quality and price, and in the shade of the film itself. The choice is yours.

But the degree of dimming is also important, because the darker the film, the more the quality of vision for the driver is reduced, which affects driving safety. In addition, recently in many countries laws have been tightened in relation to the degree of darkening of car windows. On average, the windshield and side windows of a car must let in at least 70% of daylight.

The tint film is made from polystyrene of various shades, which determine the color of the film itself, and in the end result, the color of your car windows. In this case, the outer layer of the film is usually coated with a special metal composition that protects the film itself and the glass from mechanical damage. It is clear that the more expensive the film, the better the composition of the protective layer will be and the longer the tinting itself will last you.

Adhesive tint film

The very procedure of pasting glass with a tint film does not require any special knowledge and skills, but, nevertheless, accuracy is needed in this matter. The film should always be glued from the inside of the glass, that is, from the side of the car interior. First of all, you need to thoroughly wash the glasses themselves so that they do not have the slightest trace of greasy stains and stains. The best way to do this is with a window cleaner. At the same time, the room where the tinting film will be pasted over should not be dusty and well lit. If you work outside, the weather should be warm and windless.

The tint film itself is glued to the glass using a soapy solution, which is applied to the glass with a spray gun (a spray bottle is also suitable, which is sprayed with house flowers).

To properly cut the film to the desired size, attach tissue paper or regular film to the glass and circle the outline, then cut the paper and you will get blanks, on which you can then cut the tint film evenly. The workpiece must be made with a margin of 5-10 mm, which can then be removed with a knife. Of course, it is more convenient to paste over the windows if they are removed from the car. But the removal of glass is a rather time-consuming task, so glass tinting is usually done directly on the car.

Spray the glass with a spray gun and apply the film with the dark side to the glass, gently smoothing it from the center to the edge, and make sure that no air bubbles form under the film.

Smooth the film well with a rubber spatula or something similar. Pay special attention to the edges of the film, they must adhere well to the glass and not protrude, so that in the future, when lowering and raising the side windows, the film does not wrap. Let the film dry afterwards. If you have a building hair dryer, you can speed up the drying process of the film. A building hair dryer can help in places where the glass has a significant bend. The film is heated, after which it better takes the form of curved glass.

As you can see, car window tinting is not such a complicated procedure, and by doing your own car window tinting, you will save a tidy sum.

Our portal warns its readers that car tinting is prohibited in some countries. Therefore, before deciding to tint a car, you should familiarize yourself with the current legislation in your country. You must be aware that traffic violations will sooner or later entail fines and troubles.

Glass tinting is carried out on many cars, and you will not surprise anyone with this now. However, before carrying out such work, find out whether the purchased tint film complies with Russian GOSTs or the standards of your country.

It is important to understand here that there is a huge selection of such products on the market, but not all of them fall under the requirements approved by law.

We give a definition

In simple, common language, tinting car windows is their darkening using a special film.

It is necessary to independently carry out such work only if there is already some knowledge in this area, and it is better that there is experience.

The most common method of tinting is pasting glass with a special polymer film with a layer of paint of a certain intensity and shade applied.

Basically, car enthusiasts are not too puzzled by the choice of color, preferring the classic black dimming.

Requirements for light transmission

Until recently, the bulk of cars in Russia were toned. Strict requirements for light transmission have now been introduced, which have forced most motorists to get rid of films that darken the front of the car.

Recall that, according to the law, it is allowed to tint the front side windows while maintaining the light transmission of at least 70%, and the windshield at least 75% (at least 70% from 01/01/2015).

The tinting of the windows of the rear half of the car is not regulated in any way, with the exception of one point - it is forbidden to use mirror tinting.

There are two advantages to toning:

  1. Saves interior material from burnout;
  2. Performs certain security functions.

The main disadvantage is reduced visibility, especially in the dark.

To tint your car, you do not need to go to a professional car service. This activity is not difficult, although, it is worth confessing, not everyone can cope with it.

Important Points

Before you start tinting your car windows, pay attention to a few important points:

  1. Do not forget, the film is fixed on the inside of the glass. This will get her out of the way. environment as well as adverse weather conditions;
  2. Be sure to observe statutory norms, otherwise you risk removing the tint at the very first post of the traffic police. Yes, and you will be guaranteed a fine;
  3. You don't have to take the glass out to tint it. Of course, it is more convenient to work with the glasses removed, and the film will be fixed more evenly, but with careful execution, everything should work out that way;
  4. Direct pasting must be carried out in a well-lit, clean room. You can also do this outdoors, but then you will have to find a place where the appearance of dust is minimized, as well as to “catch” calm weather.

General order of work

Glass tinting occurs with the use of a water-soap solution in the proportion of 3-5 drops of washing shampoo per liter of water.

It is necessary to mix this solution thoroughly, it is advisable to use an automatic sprayer.

The glass is then cleaned externally. This must be done not only without fail, but also very high quality, since the technology requires complete cleanliness of the tinted surface. Any grain of sand can end up as an air bubble.

In this way, you can tint any domestic and foreign cars.

General stages of work:

  • FIRST STAGE . The glass is cleaned of dust and dirt, as well as its degreasing. If you are going to tint the windows without removing them, then it is desirable, but not necessary, to remove the rubber seals.
  • SECOND PHASE . It consists in the manufacture of a solution of shampoos or non-aggressive detergents. It must be poured into a special sprayer. Pay attention to the correct preparation of the solution. 5 drops of detergent are added to 1.5 liters of water and the whole mixture is shaken vigorously. It is better to pour the resulting solution into a container with a sprayer (sprayer).
  • THIRD STAGE. Making paper patterns. They will be required in order to cut the tint film of the required shape. If you are not sure about your measurements, leave small tolerances. They are then easily removed with a cutter. If the hand is already full, then this item can be missed.
  • FOURTH STAGE. Pattern and the process of toning itself.

Tool

Be sure to stock up on all the necessary materials and tools. For these purposes, you will need:

  1. Direct tinting film. It is sold in any automotive stores, rolled into rolls. As a rule, one roll is enough to tint all side windows;
  2. Rubber spatula. Basically, it comes with a film, although it is often replaced with a hard plastic one. Its use is also possible, but with more caution;
  3. Stationery cutter with special blades that do not scratch car windows. It will be required to cut off the excess film along the contour;
  4. Sprayer for spraying soap solution;
  5. If you are going to tint curved glass, for example, the rear one, you cannot do without a building hair dryer. It is useful for uniform application of tinting on the bends.
  6. And finally, you need to stock up on a few soft rags or rags.

Choosing a film

Choosing a film for self-tinted glass is not so simple. The market is literally littered with such products that come to us both from China and from European countries.

In short, do not look towards Chinese manufacturers who offer inexpensive All-in-One kits.

Pay attention only to rolled products from famous manufacturers.

In a good store, a bad product will not be advised, just say that you want to buy a quality window tint film, hinting that the price is not important to you and everything will be in order.

Film pattern for side windows

Before starting the pattern, you need to decide where the tint film has a protective layer, usually it is covered with a special liner.

For a pattern, you can use a special template, for example, for Lada Priora for the front side windows, it looks like this.

You can cut out a template from cardboard, see the video for how to do it.

But as a rule, such templates are used by masters in car services, so we will go the other way.

Cut the film on the glass, while the adhesive layer should look out. Try to cut parallel to the roll, pay attention to the fact that the cut layer is 3-4 cm larger than the glass itself.

The underside of the tinted film should be parallel to the outer lower window seal and protrude on it for example by 1 - 2 cm.

Pattern for front right glass

Using a knife and a special clamp, carefully cut off the excess part of the film along the right edge of the glass, not the entire edge, but only its vertical part, which is located near the mirror.

Then we shift the tint film 1 cm to the right, onto the glass seal, which is located near the mirror.

The next step is to cut the tint film along the top edge of the glass, but to do this, lower it.

We carefully complete the stage of preparing the pattern using a special clamp and a knife.

The lowered glass on the rear door is cut out in the same way.

We moisten the glass from the outside, and place the cut piece of the tint film with the inside facing us.

As in the first case with a film shift, make side vertical cuts with a knife. Later, lowering the glass, we finally adjust the pattern as in the first case.

Always pay attention to the fact that the blade of your knife is not dull, otherwise the film will tear.

The pattern for glasses that do not fall is cut out so that the film is 5 mm larger on all sides. Without a shift of the tint film, as in the first two cases, one cannot do.

Try immediately after the cut, remove excess pieces of tint film. Use the knife carefully so as not to damage the car parts.

If there is an opaque line of paint on the fixed part of the glass, then cut the tint film so that it goes over this opaque area.

Pattern of the film on the rear window

The outer surface of the glass and tint film must be absolutely dry and clean. Then, on the back glass, write the letter "H" with a wet sponge.

The film should be placed with the adhesive side out, and rolled along the roll. The pattern, as in previous cases, should be larger than the transparent part of the glass itself.

Place the resulting pattern on the outer part of the rear window, so that there are no folds on it, neither horizontal nor vertical. If this is not possible, try to have only vertical folds, they are easier to work with.

Since the rear window of the car is a spherical surface, smooth out the tint film with the letter "H".

Creases should be removed with a blow dryer, but be careful not to overheat the film. It is necessary to heat only vertical folds. This operation will require special care and skill.

After removing all possible wrinkles, wet the surface of the glass and film with soapy water and gently smooth the resulting pattern. The pattern should be the same as the shape of the glass without horizontal and vertical folds.

It is necessary to smooth the pattern from the center in different directions. This procedure must be carried out carefully using a combined squeegee.

Make sure that the film does not break, but is gently smoothed over the surface of the glass. During this operation, use a soapy solution.

The cutting line should overlap the dark area of the glass by a few millimeters. In the same way as with the right side windows, we do the same with the left ones, only in a mirror image.

Applying a film on the side windows preparation for tinting:

  1. We moisten the inner surface of the side glass with a prepared soapy solution, clean its lower part from dirt with a scraper.
  2. We lower the glass a few centimeters and thoroughly wash the rest of it. Be sure to ensure that there are no uncleaned areas.
  3. Wipe the edges of the glass with a napkin.

Work progress

Before applying the film, once again make sure it is clean. Wet the glass from the inside with soapy water. In the future, we remove the protective liner from the prepared pattern by 2/3 and moisten the adhesive base with soapy water as well. Cut off the excess liner immediately.

Be sure to moisten the fingers with soapy water, before washing them well.

We take the pattern and place it on the already prepared outer side of the glass surface, while trying to ensure that its adhesive layer does not touch other parts of the car. Align the pattern with the top edge of the glass.

After making sure that there are no gaps or gaps anywhere, gently start squeezing the solution out from under the tint film. Hold the pattern with your hand, as it may slip at the very beginning.

Gradually, slowly squeeze out the water from the center to the edges of the glass. Use rubber forcing or a combination squeegee first.

After that, at the upper border of the glass, fix the tint film with the help of distillation and a building hair dryer. To do this, heat the area 2 cm below the upper border of the glass with a hairdryer while stroking.

Using a knife, remove the remaining film protruding above the glass edge. Next, raise the glass, and abundantly moisten the lower part of it with soapy water.

We remove the liner, while making sure that the adhesive base of the pattern does not touch anything except the glass itself.

With the help of distillation, carefully fill the tint film under the seal, while making sure that it does not break. This operation will require attention and some skill.

We expel the solution from under the tint film, while using a hard scraper. We do this in successive movements from top to bottom, from the middle to the edges.

We achieve complete removal of moisture residues with the help of a moisture-absorbing napkin and a building hair dryer.

Window tinting in the rear and other parts of the car occurs in the same sequence, but still we will stop in more detail.

Car rear window tinting

As a rule, in many cars, the rear glass has heating filaments, so you need to clean it carefully. To do this, you can use blades made of soft materials, rubber, plastic, etc. Such work is best done together.

  1. Perfectly wash the surface of the rear window;
  2. We completely cover the rear shelf so that the soap solution does not get on it;
  3. Wet the rear window heavily with soapy water;
  4. Take the pattern and partially detach the liner from its upper side;
  5. Moisten the adhesive base immediately with the solution;
  6. Attach the top edge of the pattern to the top edge of the glass, avoiding gaps;
  7. Do not allow the film to twist and kink; for this, a partner must be nearby;
  8. Using a soft and hard distillation, squeeze the water-soap solution out from under the film with downward movements, from the center to the sides;
  9. Having reached the middle of the glass, finally remove the liner and moisten the surface of the window and the adhesive base with the solution again;
  10. Keep squeezing out the soapy liquid;
  11. Next, you need to press the tint film to the edges of the glass. To do this, heat the edges of the glass with a hairdryer from the outside, and press the film inside with the help of a hard distillation;
  12. IMPORTANT: do not overheat the glass.

Reflective strip

These works are carried out at will and are not obligatory, since they only partially relate to the topic of car window tinting.

The tool used is the same.

Pay attention to the presence of special blades in the knife that do not scratch car windows.

The order of work is largely identical to those described above:

  1. The pattern is being prepared. It should be 1.5 times wider and a few centimeters longer than the dimensions we need. A pattern is made from a tint film along the roll;
  2. The upper part of the front glass is wetted with soapy water;
  3. The workpiece is applied with the adhesive side out;
  4. With the help of forcing and a hair dryer, the pattern is leveled and cut off at the top along the rubber seals (do not overheat windshield, it may burst);
  5. We take a ruler and measure the dimensions we need from above (no more than 12 cm), while making notches with a knife. The more notches, the better (see video at 18 minutes). This is done because the top side of the film is no longer straight but oval, as it has already been cut to fit the top side of the glass;
  6. We cut off the excess film so that its lower side is in the video of a pointed wave;
  7. Next, with the help of a ruler, we cut off carefully the pointed waves, making the underside of the film also oval;
  8. We wet the glass again, apply the film with the liner outward and fine-tune the film, cutting off its excess parts. To do this, use a good light source from the car interior;
  9. Wash the inside of the glass thoroughly;
  10. Further, glass tinting occurs in the same way as in the cases described above.

For more details on the entire process, see the video.

Summing up

Summing up, we can say that window tinting will require some skill and knowledge from you. You don't need an expensive tool for this.

The main thing you need to pay attention to is the preparation of patterns and the perfect cleanliness of the glasses, do not tint until you are sure that they are perfectly clean.

Well, a properly prepared and well-mixed soap solution plays a key role in this. Any washing shampoo can be used.

Car window tinting is not the most difficult task and can be done by hand. Of course, any car repair shop will be happy to take on such work, but if you do it yourself, you can kill two birds with one stone - save a lot and do everything the way you want. Auto glass tinting is extremely popular. Even legislative restrictions do not interfere with it, which, in fact, prohibit darkening the view of the front of the car. Most factory car windows already have a slight tint, so if they are tinted with a film, they can go beyond the allowable 70% light transmission for the front semicircle of a car. But the rear part of the SDA and GOST does not limit, and here you can win back by completely protecting passengers and the cabin from the scorching sun.

Stages of work

There are many photos of cars, as well as videos showing how the cars look before and after the work has been done correctly. After looking at them, you will certainly want to do this with your own hands. Car window tinting is carried out in four stages:

  • cleaning and washing of glued surfaces;
  • cutting blanks from the film;
  • tinting of flat auto glass;
  • processing of curved glass.

Although doing such work with your own hands, in general, is not difficult, but it requires painstaking work and does not tolerate fuss and haste.

Therefore, in order to carry out high-quality tinting of car windows, you should allocate a sufficient amount of free time, and most importantly, prepare the necessary tools and materials.

Preparing for tinting

Almost everything that is necessary for the implementation of work is available on the farm for the vast majority of people:

  • water sprayer;
  • sharp blade or clerical knife;
  • soft, clean, lint-free rags;
  • detergent;
  • rubber spatula.

You will also need warm water. You can tint a car with your own hands without a hair dryer, but it greatly speeds up the process, therefore, if there is one, then you must use it. Didactic material, which is available in abundance on the Internet, helps a lot in preparing for work. Videos and photos showing how the phased tinting of car windows is carried out will clearly show all the subtleties of the process that cannot be expressed in words.

Glass preparation

A prerequisite for the quality of tinting is a preliminary washing of the car and the workplace. Small grains of sand are the main cause of possible defects. Car tinting is carried out exclusively on a clean surface and in fairly sterile conditions. It is clear that it will not be possible to create operating conditions in the garage, but there should not be any clouds of dust while working with the film either. The car windows are washed on both sides with soapy water and then dried thoroughly.

Care must be taken to ensure that no villi remain on the surface. The most convenient way to do this is with a blade or a clerical knife, which will help clean the car windows.

After that, a foam solution is prepared. For this purpose, you can use any shampoo or detergent that is available. The solution is poured into the sprayer and at this the preparatory stage is completed and the main action begins.

Preparing the film for gluing

Car glass blanks are cut in different ways. You can make stencils-patterns from improvised material and work with them. Using this method, you can achieve a perfect match in size, but in time it will be quite long. The easiest way is to attach the film with the reverse side outside the car and cut it in place. First, the bottom and sides are adjusted with maximum accuracy, and then the top, where an allowance of a few centimeters remains.

Work should begin with the side windows of the car, which have a flat surface. Having trained on them and having achieved a positive result, you can proceed to a more difficult task - cutting blanks for the windshield and rear window, if you also decide to tint them yourself. If possible, it is better to see how this is done on a video or step-by-step photos, because it is very important to achieve a snug fit of the film to the glass of the car and so that there are no gaps at the edges.

Flat and curved glass tinting

The third and fourth stages of work follow the same principle, but the last one is much more difficult, especially for those who have not previously done such things. In the process, the following main points can be distinguished:

  • separation of the protective layer of the film;
  • spraying glass with soapy water;
  • gradual application of tinting to the surface to be glued;
  • removal of air bubbles and alignment.

It is very convenient to separate the protective layer using adhesive tape, which is glued on both sides of the film. The soap solution provides a good glide, so the tint can be easily adjusted in place. A spatula is needed in order to disperse air bubbles around the edges and remove them from under the film. If it is made of rubber, then you can not be afraid to tear the thin material of the glued coating.

Without a hair dryer, it is quite difficult to fit a flat film under curved glass; it allows, by heating the material, to deform it a little, providing a snug fit over the entire surface.

finishing touches

Do-it-yourself tinting is completed by drying the glued film. For this purpose, it is convenient to use a hair dryer, but it is not necessary to be too zealous in heating so that the coating material does not deform from heating. It is best not to touch the results of the work for three days, then everything is guaranteed to dry out, and the film will stay on the glass for a long time and with high quality.

Do-it-yourself tinting will provide an opportunity to save money, but, most likely, for the first time it will look worse than professional work in a car repair shop. But even the most outstanding masters once started their work, taking the first steps and making mistakes. If you watch videos and photos showing cars tinted by self-taught craftsmen, then it is impossible to distinguish the results of their work from branded products.

Only those who move forward all the time can win, which means that if today it didn’t turn out very well, then next time it will come out much better. The main thing is not to give up, learn from professionals and improve your own skills.

How to tint a car? This is a question that deserves special attention. Appearance vehicle with good design and amazing tuning - that's what attracts the eyes of everyone around. Toning refers to the elements of tuning. It is worth considering in more detail the question of how to tint a car, because thanks to tinting, the car will acquire charm, shine and presentability.

The tint film, among other things, prevents many unpleasant effects on the car. Among them, burnout of the skin, instrument panel, acoustics and audio equipment. In addition, tinting will create a barrier that will prevent the sun from blinding the driver.

When tinted with a film, car windows are not dismantled. Maybe only the door panels are removed - and then very rarely. In addition, this is a very fast process: a car can be fully tinted in three hours. This does not scratch the glass. Another plus that a tint film for cars has is that it can be removed at any time, and the windows will remain intact. It is also heat-resistant: it is not afraid of overheating or frost. It does not reflect, does not demetallize, does not flake or bubble. Plus she don't miss

How to tint a car with your own hands? Not as difficult as it might seem. To do this, you will need an eraser spatula, shampoo, a knife, a blade, a ruler and a film.

How to properly tint a car? First you need to wash it thoroughly, washing off all the fat from the glasses. If you do not do it efficiently, then hairs, dust particles will clog under the film, and this is fraught with a bad result. Then you need to measure the glass (an allowance of five centimeters on each side is taken into account), and you can proceed to the film, or rather, to cut it. You need to find the transparent side of the film. Then you should take the film and sprinkle it with plenty of water, in which there is a sufficient amount of shampoo. The film must be damp, and even wet. Then it is divided to the end (it is necessary to ensure that its sides do not stick together), and the transparent part is thrown away. The adhesive side of the film is applied to the car glass. Then you need a rubber eraser, which from the center will need to drive water to the edges. The film must be held so that it does not slip off. Attention! You need to remove ALL the water. Then, after an hour, you can cut the film. But by no means exactly along the edge - for this you need to wait about 8 hours. You can dry the film with a hair dryer to improve the result.

How to tint a car, or rather, its rear window? The film is attached to it in a different way. You need to first carefully examine it, then wash it thoroughly. Fastening starts from the top. The washing liquid should be spread over the top of the already washed glass. Then 1/3 of the film is separated and the liquid is abundantly sprayed onto its surface. The same operation will need to be repeated with the remaining 2/3 of the film. As already mentioned, it will be necessary to wait a few hours, after which it will be possible to correct. And finally, the last 2-3 days you do not need to open the windows to avoid possible deformation (this is if the film is not of the highest quality).
