MAZ Zubrenok - review and technical specifications. Dimensions Maz Zubrenok oil volume of the rear axle

MAZ-4371 is an onboard medium-tonnage cargo vehicle with a 4x2 wheel arrangement. It is produced both with a tented platform, reinforced with steel sides, and with an open platform. This technique is actively used for transporting large cargo as part of road trains.

Among the people, the MAZ-4371 truck received the funny nickname “Zubrenok”. For the engineers of the Minsk Automobile Plant, the presented model became one of the most successful and in demand, and also gained enviable popularity in the post-Soviet space. For more than one year in a row, the MAZ-4371 truck has won the title of “Best Commercial Vehicle of the Year”, without losing its favorite position to any competitor.

Truck MAZ-4371: history of creation

When creating the truck, the designers and engineers of the Minsk plant took the German-origin MAN L2000 as a basis. Contrary to all expectations, the MAZ-4371 turned out to be significantly more efficient than its older brother in terms of maximum load capacity, for which it was called “Zubrenok”. The car was created for use in suburban and intensive urban environments. For such tasks, the designers endowed the truck with compact dimensions, guaranteeing ease of maneuvering in urban congestion and frequent traffic jams.

Initially, the MAZ-4371 vehicle was intended for transporting all kinds of household goods - furniture, clothing and shoes, food products, etc. It also had the ability to tow trailers with a towing mechanism, which ensured coupling without gaps. Minsk designers also offered a specialized chassis for mounting individual superstructures.

The appearance of the truck was practically no different from its German counterpart. Moreover, the first few batches of MAZ-4371 were equipped with a German-made chassis. But after a couple of years, Minsk engineers nevertheless developed their own chassis. It was on this that they began to mount the new type of cabin.

For a long period, the model was considered one of the most impeccable trucks. But some car enthusiasts still managed to criticize the MAZ-4371. The main criticism was directed at the truck's headlights. They were made in China and were not the most powerful, which is why the car showed rather poor lighting. Drivers with many years of experience replaced these parts immediately after purchasing the model.

In general, reviews from owners of the MAZ-4371 indicate that the truck is a worthy competitor to its foreign counterparts. The equipment is distinguished by its high level of reliability and endurance, and is also perfectly adapted to the weather conditions and roads of Russia. In the class of medium-tonnage vehicles, the MAZ-4371 truck fully meets all the requirements of the modern market.

The car is available in several climatic variations. For example, “T1” models were exported to countries with tropical climates, and “U1” versions were exported to countries with moderate climatic conditions.

Technical characteristics of MAZ-4371

Engine MAZ-4371

The MAZ-4371 is available with several types of engines. Some of the most popular are models with diesel power plants produced at the car plant in the city of Minsk. Piston motor D-245.30 MMZ It is 4-stroke, has a vertical cylinder arrangement and a direct fuel injection system.

The volume of the unit is 4.75 liters, it is liquid cooled, and the maximum torque is 526 Nm. The intake system is equipped with turbocharging and intercooling of the charge air. Power limit of this engine equal to 156 hp The main advantage of the power plant is its affordable cost.

Engine MMZ D-245

No less popular are variations of cars with a diesel power plant from the company Deutz markings BF4M1013FC, which have 4 cylinders and are equipped with electronic control.

The engine capacity is 4.76 liters and its maximum torque is 577 Nm. Such an engine has 2 valves per cylinder, due to which it has a high level of reliability and complies with all Euro-3 standards and norms. The maximum power of the presented engine is 170 hp.

The MAZ-4371 truck is also available with the following types of engines:

  1. Cummins ISF– diesel power plant with a volume of 3.8 liters, a maximum torque of 600 Nm and a maximum power of 170 hp. Meets all Euro-4 standards.
  2. MAN D0834FL64– diesel engine with a volume of 4.6 liters and a maximum power of 180 hp. Meets all requirements and standards of Euro-5.

Many Russian car variations are equipped with power units production YaMZ. The technical data of such a motor are completely identical to the characteristics of the D-245.30 MMZ engine.

As for fuel consumption, the MAZ-4371 vehicle demonstrates average statistical indicators for its class. At a speed of 60 km/h, the equipment consumes about 17-19 liters per 100 kilometers. At an average speed of 80 km/h, the figures increase slightly and the truck begins to consume 21-23 liters of fuel per 100 km. IN winter period Fuel consumption may increase by an average of 1-2 liters. The total volume of the fuel tank is 130 liters.

Transmission

MAZ-4371 vehicles intended for transporting trailers are equipped with a relatively durable manual gearbox model SAAZ-433429, which is produced by the Smolensk Automobile Plant. Other versions of the truck with MMZ power plants are equipped with a modification box SAAZ-3206, which is only slightly different from that installed on the gasoline version. Both transmissions are five-speed.

The increased torque of a diesel unit and the decreased quality of production of parts often lead to gear failure. You can increase the service life of such a loaded gearbox using transmission oil good quality. Changing it more frequently will also help, because when symptoms of gear wear occur, it is important to remove metal particles from inside the gearbox housing as quickly as possible. This will prevent accelerated wear of other parts, especially bearings.

All modifications of the MAZ-4371 with a Deutz diesel power plant are equipped with a manual transmission ZF S5-42. It is produced in Spain, has 6 gears and almost never fails.

Dimensional and mass indicators

Dimensions of the MAZ-4371 car:

  • truck length – 7250 mm;
  • wheelbase – 3700 mm;
  • vehicle width – 2550 mm;
  • ground clearance– 185 mm;
  • wheel formula – 4x2;
  • tires – 235/75R17.5;
  • vehicle height – 2900 mm.

Mass indicators:

  • total vehicle weight – 10100 kg;
  • curb weight – 5500 kg;
  • maximum load capacity – 4450 kg;
  • weight as part of a road train - 17350 kg.

Transmission

The MAZ-4371 car, as mentioned earlier, is equipped with two main types of gearbox: the SAAZ-3206 model and the ZF S5-42 model.

Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages. The SAAZ modification is rougher and tougher, and gear ratios it is slightly less than that of its foreign counterpart. The model from ZF behaves more softly when switching; there are no sharp clicks when the box is operating.

The car is driven by rear wheel drive, which is a good advantage, taking into account the specifics of its purpose. The wheel formula of the vehicle is not complicated - 4x2. Thus, when fully loaded, “Zubryonok” can freely travel at a maximum speed of 90 to 110 km/h.

Some owners of the MAZ-4371 note that its suspension is a little stiff, because traditional springs made of folded sheet metal (thickness no more than 3 mm) are used both at the rear and at the front. On the other hand, there is a colossal advantage here - the simplicity and reliability of the design. The maximum resource for continuous operation of these springs is 250-350 thousand kilometers, but this is not even the limit. If the car is not loaded to its maximum load capacity, then the suspension is immediately made significantly softer. Accordingly, the issue of suspension stiffness can be resolved by lowering the tire pressure.

The brake system on the MAZ-4371 truck is installed of the drum type, and therefore everything is extremely simple and reliable, because the mechanism has only two main elements - the brake drum and, accordingly, the pads themselves. The brake system is driven by a pneumohydraulic mechanism. Some more modern models already use disk brake system.

Car tires are quite interesting. Despite their small radius, like many competitors in their class, they guarantee the optimal height for equipment with this load rating and overall dimensions. The width of the tire is sufficient to evenly distribute the load over the entire area.

The MAZ-4371 car can drive through all problem areas of the highway with extreme ease - liquefied areas, snow-covered and others, because the overall pressure of the car per 1 cm2 is quite low when compared with its closest competitors.

But it is still worth noting that one of the disadvantages of the MAZ-4371 car is that it does not have a differential lock, and there are no models with all-wheel drive on the market. Although Minsk designers immediately stated that the car was created for city roads.

MAZ-4371 cabin: overview of the workplace

The cabin of the MAZ-4371 car is worthy of a private conversation. Actually, this is what categorically distinguishes it from the previous model - . The short cabin without a sleeping place was replaced by a more spacious one. If we compare comfort, it is not much inferior to its foreign classmates. The cabin has a third seat.

Also, most models have a sleeping place. According to some reviews, it is not very comfortable, but at the same time the cabin is warm enough and there is no engine tunnel that constantly interferes with movement around the cabin. The suspension is quite soft and comfortable, which prevents the driver from getting tired even during the longest transports. There are also auxiliary handrails on the side of each door, which greatly facilitate entry into the cabin.

The designers did not develop pneumatic cylinders for the cabin or even spring struts. It was mounted to the frame using thick rubber bushings. But on the other hand, Zubrenok’s designers did not skimp on the hydraulic lift and hydraulic locks, as a result of which access to the windows and the engine became extremely comfortable.

The car's instrument panel is one of the most informative and convenient among all competitors produced in the CIS countries. Its design is almost identical to its counterparts from Europe. And what’s important is that it doesn’t creak at all, and its plastic is soft. A plastic shelf was installed slightly above the windshield. The rear wings of the cabin itself are mounted directly on the frame. Actually, they are plastic fender liners, the task of which is to protect the wheel arches.

The cabin of the MAZ-4371 vehicle is not designed for transporting goods over long distances. One of its disadvantages is that it is not completely protected from corrosion. A lot of galvanized devices and mechanisms are trying to help in this situation, but the designers were unable to completely protect the structure from chemical exposure.

Modifications of MAZ 4000 series

There are several main modifications of the MAZ 4000 series:

    • Car MAZ-4370– the ancestor of the entire 4000 series. It is a two-axle chassis of medium tonnage, the purpose of which is to transport a variety of special equipment. The technical features of this equipment make it possible to install an onboard platform, tow truck, tanks, lifts, ATZ, etc. on its chassis. A distinctive feature of the truck is its low-load chassis.

    • Car MAZ-437041– a two-axle medium-tonnage truck that has proven itself to be a reliable and durable vehicle. Its purpose is to transport cargo on intercity routes. Currently, this equipment is actively used by the armed forces, utility companies, agriculture and industrial sectors. It can be equipped with both an onboard cargo platform and an awning.

    • Car MAZ-437043– a two-axle chassis of medium tonnage, on which an onboard cargo platform is installed. The truck is designed to transport all kinds of cargo on suburban routes. Despite the low-frame chassis, this vehicle demonstrates a good level of maneuverability. It is actively used by public utilities, construction organizations, auto repair companies, agriculture, etc.

    • Car MAZ-437130– a two-axle Minsk medium-tonnage truck, the purpose of which is to transport specialized installations and equipment, ATZ, lifts, car elevators, water and fuel tanks, installations for gas cylinders, etc. The car stands out for its increased maneuverability and good cross-country ability. It is actively used in public utilities, industrial companies, construction organizations, specialized services, etc.
    • Car MAZ-437141– a two-axle chassis designed for transporting goods on both suburban and urban routes. Equipped with a tent cargo platform. The main advantages of this equipment are increased maneuverability, compact dimensions and a high level of load capacity. It can be equipped with a double or triple cabin with a berth.

MAZ-4371 is a medium-tonnage low-loader truck with a “4x2” wheel arrangement, available in several “guises”... The chassis is designed to accommodate a large number of special superstructures (tow truck, car lifts, tanks, utility equipment, etc.), and the vehicle with flatbed/van is aimed at transporting various cargoes along urban and suburban routes...

The truck was first presented to the world community in 2003 at the Russian International car showroom, after which it entered mass production. In fact, it became the second generation of Zubrenok, which received a new cabin and improved technical components... and since then it has been modernized several times (in 2013 it received a new cabin and the name “Cornet”).

The MAZ-4371 looks nice and quite modern, and its appearance is practically in no way inferior to most foreign competitors.

The two-door cabin of the car flaunts a large glass area, a large black radiator grille, harmonious spotlight-type lighting and a neat bumper.

“Zubrenok” is provided in two modifications, the overall length of which is 7000 mm and 8200 mm (the wheelbase is 3700 mm and 4200 mm, respectively). The width of the truck is 2550 mm (excluding rear-view mirrors), the height reaches 2850 mm (taking into account the van superstructure - 3660 mm), and its ground clearance does not exceed 185 mm. The installation frame length of the machine varies from 5300 to 6220 mm.

When equipped, the MAZ-4371 weighs from 4350 to 5600 kg (depending on the modification), and its total (technically permissible) weight does not exceed 10100 kg (as part of a road train - 17300 kg). The pressure on the front axle of the car is no more than 3800 kg, and on the rear axle – 6300 kg.

Inside, “Zubrenok” greets its inhabitants with a simple but ergonomically thought-out design - all controls are where they should be. Depending on the version, a single or double passenger seat can be installed in the truck cabin, and a comfortable seat equipped with a mechanical suspension and adjustments in several directions is organized in the driver’s seat.

A wide number of modifications are offered for the Belarusian car, driven by four-cylinder diesel engines with an in-line layout, turbocharging, intercooler, liquid cooling and the function of direct “power supply” of the Common Rail:

  • MAZ- 437143 (1) is equipped with a 4.75-liter MMZ D-245.30 engine, which generates 155 Horse power(115 kW) at 2400 rpm and 526 Nm of torque at 1500 rpm (on the Euro-3 version - 575 Nm at 1400-1600 rpm).
  • Under the MAZ cab 4371P2 The engine is based on the MMZ D-245.35 engine with a displacement of 4.75 liters, producing 169 hp. (124 kW) at 2300 rpm and 650 Nm of ultimate thrust at 1200-1600 rpm.
  • For MAZ- 4371W1 It relies on a 3.8-liter Cummins ISF3.84168 unit, the potential of which is 168 horsepower (122 kW) at 2600 rpm and 592 Nm of available output at 1300-1700 rpm.
  • MAZ- 4371W2 boasts a 3.9-liter Cummins 4ISBe4185 diesel engine generating 183 hp. (136 kW) at 2500 rpm and 650 Nm of torque at 1200-1700 rpm.

The engines are combined exclusively with manual transmissions - 5-speed SAAZ-433420 or 6-speed FAST Gear J70TA.

The entire power reserve is supplied to the rear axle, which is equipped with a locking cross-axle differential.

The truck can reach a maximum speed of up to 90 km/h, and its fuel consumption is 13-17 liters in combined mode for every 100 km, depending on the version.

The base for the MAZ-4371 is a ladder frame with a pair of channel-section spars and tubular and channel-section cross members.

The car is complete dependent suspensions on both axles: the front uses a semi-elliptic spring system with telescopic shock absorbers and a stabilizer lateral stability, and at the rear there is an architecture on longitudinally oriented semi-elliptic springs.

This medium-tonnage truck uses a dual-circuit braking system with a pneumohydraulic drive, drum mechanisms with a diameter of 325 mm “all around” and ABS.

The car is equipped with a power steering system, a 200-liter fuel tank and 17.5-inch wheels, “clothed” with 235/75R tires.

On Russian market MAZ-4371 in 2017 is offered at a price of ~1.6 million rubles. The starting configuration of the car includes: hydraulic booster steering wheel, digital tachograph, ABS, sprung driver's seat, three-point seat belts, radio and some other equipment.

MAZ 437040 went down in history as the first medium-heavy flatbed truck with a low loading height, produced at the enterprise of the former socialist and now independent republic of Belarus.

The history of the Minsk Automobile Plant can be divided into two parts: before and after the Soviet Union. The “BEFORE” era is characterized by large volumes (the plant provided up to 60% of the needs of the truck industry) and is remembered mainly for its all-wheel drive heavy-duty two-axle vehicles. The era “AFTER” secession from the USSR was marked by certain financial and technical difficulties, which this Belarusian plant was able to overcome only in 1996.

In 1997, a significant event occurred, which marked the beginning of a new line onboard vehicles moderate severity. And this is what happened: the German automobile plant "MAN", represented by the Chairman of the Board K. Schubert and with the support of the General Director of "LADA-OMS HOLDING" A. Vaganov, signed documents on the formation of a joint sales enterprise with the Minsk Automobile Plant under the leadership of the General Director of "BelavtoMAZ" and V. Gurinovich. The significant date 12/10/1997 went down in history as the day MAZ-MAN Trading was born.

What did this event have to do with MAZ 437040? The most direct. At that time, the plant was concerned with producing its own medium-heavy on-board aircraft. which have not previously been produced in the domestic and post-Soviet space. Cooperation with the Germans came in handy. It allowed Minsk residents to borrow the best foreign solutions for own cars, which they hastened to do. Inspiration to create fundamentally new series trucks became a six-ton MAN L 2000 produced in 1994.

What is noteworthy is that at about the same time a whole series of low-sided city cars appeared - the one and a half ton "Gazelle" made in Nizhny Novgorod, and the three-ton "" from ZIL, and the Belarusian five-ton MAZ under general index 4370. The latter stood out favorably against the general background. Even the initial version of the truck with a EURO 1 engine was successful and was in demand in commercial markets.

The first (basic) MAZ 4370 rolled off the assembly line in 1999, but the new on-board vehicle came to Russia only in 2003. The basic vehicle was produced in two versions: a 2-axle single truck (with the ability to travel as part of a road train) MAZ 437040 and a vehicle with a towing unit for working with trailers - MAZ 437041.

In turn, model 437040 also had several modifications. MAZ 437040-060 and MAZ 437040-063 are vehicles with a rigid body made of sandwich-type isothermal panels. MAZ 437040-061 and MAZ 437040-062 are flatbed trucks with a tilt platform and a rear canopy. MAZ 437040-080 and MAZ 437040-081 are ordinary chassis for working as part of a road train, installing installations, etc. Models of the same class differ (for example, 060 and 063 ) in which direction (to the front or rear axle) the center of gravity is shifted.

Medium-duty truck is in demand among cargo carriers

The main purpose of the MAZ 437040 is to work on the roads general purpose, implementation of urban and suburban transportation federal highways, distribution activities, as well as transportation of goods that require maintaining certain temperatures. This car can function as part of a road train with trailers having a backlash-free coupling or a H50 type coupling bar. Thanks to its fairly compact dimensions (LxWxH, m: 7.1x2.55x3.55), the car moves well in city conditions, does not interfere with the passage of other vehicles, and turns quite easily (turning radius is 7.8 meters).

Externally, the car was very similar to the MAN model. But in terms of technical characteristics, the MAZ 437040 remained unrivaled among Russian cars of this class until 2007. Neither the Zilovsky 5301 nor the Gorky "Valdai" 3310 could compete with the Minskers in terms of build quality and cabin comfort. Only KAMAZ series 4308 (released almost a decade later) managed to get as close as possible to MAZ.

According to reviews, the MAZ 437040, first of all, stands out for its high-quality cabin assembly. Thanks to the cabover layout, there is more than enough space for even three passengers. The attachment of the cab to the front beam is rigid, which nevertheless does not affect the ride quality at all. Excellent (spring) front suspension, as well as a sprung driver's seat equipped with a pneumatic drive, together give a wonderful result: the movement is smooth and comfortable. Another plus is a decent built-in heater, although some drivers prefer to use additional equipment.

Now about the disadvantages. In general, they are the same for all MAZ cabs of the 90s. Firstly, the sleeping shelf is awkwardly made: you have to put in a lot of effort to unfold it horizontally. Secondly, many of those who have encountered this bortovich note excessive levels of noise and vibration. This drawback is especially felt with the old D-245 engine. The most difficult thing is to work at low speeds. As soon as the engine speed reaches 1700-1800 rpm. the vibrations stop. It is typical that this problem is not observed on cars with Deutz engines.

Vehicle specifications

In general, with regards to engines, the cars of the Minsk plant have evolved quite quickly. The first ones were equipped with a 136-horsepower four-cylinder in-line diesel MMZ D-245.9-540 with a displacement of 4.75 liters of the EURO 1 standard. Together with the engine, the vehicles were equipped with Zilov five-speed gearboxes 695 D. A little later in 2002, the “crammers” 437040 were transferred to a 155-horsepower diesel engine MMZ D-245.30 already belongs to the EURO 2 standard and is equipped with a Saazov (also five-speed) gearbox 3206.70. The main disadvantage (increased vibration) of MMZ engines has already been mentioned. This is most likely due to the fact that the D-245 was originally made for tractors, where the center of gravity was shifted and the engine was part of the frame structure. The tuning of the D-245 engine is discussed in detail in the MAZ 437040 operating manual.

The fuel consumption of the MAZ 437040 when driving in Russian winter conditions (snow, ice), even with an old engine, does not exceed 23 liters per 100 kilometers, which, of course, is quite decent. Of course, in the summer the smaller machine “eats”.

The brake system MAZ 437040 is drum, with pneumatic drive. The chassis on cars of the 437040 series were originally foreign, produced at the MAN automobile concern. Later, their own chassis with low load capacity were developed. Wheels - 17.5 inches, dimensions 235/75R. Generally speaking about wheels, it is necessary to mention that initially “notch” wheels were put on imported Continentals. At the time of the car's release, factories in the CIS countries simply did not produce tires the right size. However, a little later it was decided to switch to a domestic manufacturer. It became the Yaroslavl plant with their Ya478. What was the reason for the transition is not known for certain, although, most likely, this was done to reduce the cost of the model and reduce factory costs. However, compared to other urban medium-heavy vehicles, the Jagged tire has greater tire durability. Typically, medium-duty vehicles “eat up” their tires after 30 thousand kilometers, but MAZ is not aware of this problem.

The most significant drawback of the car is the gearbox rear axle MAZ 437040. Its operational life is only 100 thousand kilometers, which is certainly too little for a truck of this class. The original gearbox also causes a lot of criticism. The absence of a strict linear separation of the gear strokes (the first, for example, is combined with the rear, the second with the third, etc.) greatly complicates life when switching them: the lever does not listen well and requires considerable dexterity, skill and dexterity. It is especially difficult to “negotiate” with the lever while driving on a snowy and icy road.

However, despite all the listed shortcomings, the dynamics of the first “crammed” MAZ 437040 are quite decent. Maximum speed vehicle movement on an icy highway in transport (unloaded) condition is 98-100 km/h. The same indicator for a loaded car is 80-85 km/h. At the same time, an empty “cog” climbs uphill in fifth gear at a speed of 50-60 km/h, and a loaded one – at 30-40 km/h. And all this in the conditions of the Russian winter; naturally, in warmer weather the car is much more dynamic.

Verdict based on a study of various sources: 437040 is a good average among light-duty onboard vehicles, and considering that the price of MAZ 437040 ranges from 240,000 rubles. (year of manufacture 2001) up to RUB 1,350,000. (2007), you can easily “close your eyes” to small imperfections. Actually, more than 10 years of active demand for the “cramming” of this model only confirms this simple fact.

The Minsk Automobile Plant began production of MAZ-4370 trucks in 1999. In 2003, the car was recognized as the best in its class. This model received the nickname “Zubrenok”. The basis for the development of the truck was german car MAN L 2000 (at the same time, the load capacity of the Minsk product is twice as large). Initially, the MAZ-4370 was equipped with exclusively foreign cab and chassis. However, later its own chassis was created. The 5-ton truck differs from its analogues in having a low body frame, which makes unloading and loading easier. The model is intended for regional, suburban and urban transportation.

Reviews from MAZ-4370 owners

Reviews from the owners of Zubrenok are mostly positive. Car owners praise the flat floor inherited by the MAZ-4370 from its German “ancestor”, the comfortable and spacious cabin and the comfortable sprung driver’s seat. All this allows you to carry out even long journeys on the truck.

Due to its high popularity, the MAZ-4370 is produced in two versions. The differences between them are minor differences in payload capacity and wheelbase length.
The car is used not only as a carrier of various goods. MAZ-4370 is used as a chassis for tow trucks, dump trucks and other road construction equipment. The truck has medium dimensions and excellent maneuverability. The turning radius of the model is only 8000 mm, which allows you to feel confident in cramped urban conditions and on a busy road.

“Zubrenok” is distinguished by its low cost and high quality assembly, which makes the car especially popular in the domestic market. In Russian conditions, the MAZ-4370 feels very good, and malfunctions occur extremely rarely. Highly appreciated chassis and a truck cabin, and the funds invested in the purchase of a car pay off quite quickly.

The popularity of Zubrenok is also due to the fact that it is not inferior to foreign analogues in terms of technical characteristics.

Among the problems, it is worth noting that gear shifting is not the most convenient. However, drivers get used to the inconsistency in control quite quickly.

Specifications

MAZ-4370 has compact overall dimensions:

  • length without trailer – 5500 mm;
  • length with trailer – 8200 mm;
  • width – 2550 mm;
  • height – 2850 mm.

For medium-sized trucks, the MAZ-4370 has a fairly large wheel

  • base 3700 mm.

The weight of the vehicle does not exceed 4900 kg, which is a major advantage, since many railway crossings and road structures are not designed for heavy weight. In this case, the front axle accounts for 35% of the mass, and the rear axle – 65%. The rear axle wheels are paired with each other because they can withstand a large load. Permissible weight truck is 10100 kg.

The internal volume of the Zubrenok body is 35.5 cubic meters. The machine uses tires of size R17.5 or R20.

The MAZ-4370 has a four-by-two wheel arrangement. Even when fully loaded, the car can accelerate to 90-110 km/h.

Fuel consumption

Fuel consumption basic version MAZ-4370 per 100 km is 18 liters, and fuel tank holds up to 130 liters of fuel.

Engine

The debut model of the MAZ-4370 appeared quite a long time ago, but the manufacturer has repeatedly modernized its power plants, which allowed it to keep up with its analogues. At different periods, the truck was equipped with various units:

  1. MMZ D-245-540 (“Euro-1”) was complemented by a 5-speed ZIL-659D gearbox;
  2. MMZ D-245 E2 (“Euro-2”) with SAAZ-3206 “mechanics”;
  3. MMZ D-245 E3 (“Euro-3”) was used with the SAAZ-3206 gearbox;
  4. DEUTZ BF 4M 1013FC is an imported engine (“Euro-3”), complemented by a foreign manual gearbox ZF S5-42.

Today, power plants of Euro-1 and Euro-2 standards are no longer installed on Zubrenok. The Minsk Automobile Plant exclusively uses engines that comply with Euro-3 standards.

The most widely used is the 4-stroke 4-cylinder diesel unit MMZ D-245.30 E3, which is a development of Belarusian specialists. This power plant has high maintainability and reliability. The engine is equipped with a turbocharger, its cylinders are located vertically.

Technical characteristics of the MMZ D-245.30 E3 motor:

  • weight – 450 kg;
  • rated power - 157 hp;
  • maximum torque – 580 Nm;
  • specific fuel consumption – 205 g/kW per hour.

Also installed on the MAZ-4370 is the DEUTZ BF 4M1013FC unit, which is similar to the MMZ D-245.30 E3 in many characteristics. Engine parameters:

  • weight – 560 kg;
  • working volume – 4.8 l;
  • rated power - 170 hp;
  • rotation speed – 1500 rpm;
  • specific fuel consumption – 205-209 g/kW per hour.

The DEUTZ BF 4M1013FC also has a number of additional options to ensure smooth and quiet operation. These include an improved cooling system, supercharging and electronic regulator rotation speed. The cylinders in the power plant are arranged in one row and vertically.

Device

MAZ-4370 is equipped with two types of gearboxes:

  1. ZF S5-42;
  2. SAAZ-3206.

The latter is more rigid and has smaller gear ratios. In the ZF S5-42, switching occurs without sharp clicks and is quite soft.

The car is rear-wheel drive, which creates additional benefits, taking into account the specifics of the work and the purpose of this special equipment.

The suspension of the Zubrenok is a little harsh, since the rear and front parts use conventional springs made in the form of stacked sheets of metal. Its main advantage is simplicity. The service life of springs reaches 300-400 thousand km.

The design of the MAZ-4370 uses a drum brake system, which includes two main working elements - the drum and brake pads. They are driven by a pneumohydraulic system.

The body of the “Zubrenok” is low-frame, which allows you to transport fairly large cargo at high heights without obtaining permits. It is possible to install an awning and other equipment. The Minsk Automobile Plant offers the MAZ-4370 with platforms equipped with manipulators, concrete mixers, truck cranes and other special equipment.

The MAZ-4370 cabin deserves special attention, with its unique configuration. It is spacious and comfortable. The truck is equipped with a 3-seater (without a sleeping bag) and a 2-seater (with a sleeping bag) cabin. The latter allows you to make the road more comfortable. The berth is folding and, if necessary, can be removed to the rear of the cabin.

Another important advantage of Zubrenok is that it is equipped with an electrically adjustable stove. This equipment makes the car convenient for winter transportation. Due to the low location, getting into the cabin is quite easy. Additionally, handrails are installed to allow you to quickly and easily climb inside.

By majority technical parameters MAZ-4370 is in no way inferior to foreign competitors. At the same time, the model has cheaper and more accessible spare parts.

When choosing a car, and especially a truck, in addition to power and other technical characteristics, you have to focus on its size. If we talk specifically about the products of the Minsk Automobile Plant, then for such beloved ten-ton trucks there is even a certain standard, according to which the dimensions of the MAZ body should be in the range of 8000x2450x2200 mm, which allows us to obtain a total volume of the cargo platform of 40 cubic meters.

These are the dimensions that are considered optimal for regional transportation, but for urban conditions, with their eternal traffic jams and inconvenient entrances, even such “miniature” size is not always suitable. Here it is much more logical to use the MAZ “Zubrenok”, the dimensions of which are slightly changed, but at the same time the volume remains quite large. For example, the smallest of the family - 437143, with a platform length of 6220 mm, width of 2480 mm and height of 2310 mm, feels much more confident in city nooks and crannies. Yes, its carrying capacity is only 4.5 tons. But the volume of the body is 35 m3, and no one needs to transport more weight around the city anyway.

However, these are still standards, and we would like to recall a car that can be called the most non-standard not only in the Minsk line. The dimensions of the MAZ 541 may seem almost standard, except for the width - 7800x3400x2800, but this is only until you think of it as a truck, while appearance(especially when viewed from afar), this is a real sedan.

But you won’t be able to show off on the city promenade in this sedan, not only because of its large size, but also for other reasons. Firstly, only a few of these machines were produced (from 3 to 10). Secondly, hardly anyone would want to use a car with an engine capacity of almost 40 liters for trips to the store!

Yes, yes, this is not a typo, not 4, but 40 liters. The fact is that the purpose of this “passenger car,” the development of which began in 1956, is to tow aircraft weighing up to 80 tons. And in such a matter, even the latest engine at that time could not help. So they “made do” with the tank derated V-2 diesel engine. Two separate full-fledged control stations were added to it, the front wheels from a regular one and the rear wheels from a mining dump truck. Dali four-wheel drive with the ability to disable the front post, packed it into a streamlined steel body of a “limousine” shape and got a car that can be considered the most big sedan in the history of mankind.
