The fastest cyclist in the world speed. The fastest bikes in the world

Fans of high speeds prefer sports cars. And bicycles almost always remain in last place, because they cannot go as fast as cars do. However, in our time, unique two-wheeled vehicles are appearing that are capable of reaching considerable speeds. What bike can rightfully be considered the fastest bike in the world?

Black Trail from PG-Bikes

In 2010, the famous German bicycle manufacturer introduced the lightest and fastest bicycle in the world, which is also very expensive. This 18 kg vehicle can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h, which is a very impressive figure for a two-wheeler. Its cost is approximately $80,000, but the first copy was purchased for $120,000.

Black Trail VT-01 is not an ordinary speed bike. Under the frame it has a motor with a power of 1.2 kW. It is this element that allows this innovative electric bicycle to accelerate to high speeds. The motor is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity that is enough to move the bike 200 km. Charging time for electrical systems ranges from thirty minutes to three hours, after which the bike is able to travel a long distance.

Ergonomics, stylish design, the use of high-tech materials in the design (titanium, carbon, aluminum, carbon fiber, magnesium), the presence of an on-board computer, brake lights, seat and handles trimmed with expensive leather - all this makes the bike the object of dreams for lovers of active recreation. And even despite its high cost, there are many people who want to buy themselves such a two-wheeled vehicle.

A total of 667 such bicycles were produced. The manufacturer offers customers planning to buy a bicycle to choose an individual serial number. Several of these electric vehicles, which have already made their way into the Book of Records, have already been purchased by collectors. However, the speed developed by this vehicle is not the highest - there are bicycle models that are capable of moving at even higher speeds.

This development from AeroVelo can travel at speeds of up to 140 km/h. In addition to the fact that this is one of the fastest bicycles in the world, it is also quite interesting in appearance. The bicycle got its name from the Greek letter meaning “speed.” Agree that at first glance this vehicle can hardly be called a bicycle. It was created with an aerodynamic shell, which the creators nicknamed “cocoon”. This shell makes the bike look very interesting and also has much less drag that “cool” sports cars have.

This bike does not have a windshield, and the rider inside the “cocoon” is almost in a lying position and watches what is happening from the outside thanks to a small camera. The creators of the miracle bike say that while such a design will not be produced for the wider market - Eta's main task for now is to show high-speed bicycles that speeds can be much higher.

A bike with breathtaking speed from Francois Gissy

With this vehicle, cyclist François Gissy was able to set a new speed record in the two-wheeled category - the cyclist reached a speed of 333 km/h. It took only 4.8 seconds to accelerate to this speed. Therefore, this vehicle can justifiably be called the fastest bicycle in the world. For the first time, the thrill-seeker accelerated his bike to 286 km/h. And now the Frenchman dreams of achieving an even higher speed of 400 km/h from his bicycle.

A special feature of this bicycle, created by the Frenchman himself together with his friend, is the presence of a rocket engine (its power is 560 hp), which was manufactured by the Swedish company Exotic Thermo Engineering. The rocket bicycle has a slightly elongated design, but in appearance it is quite similar to a regular bicycle. It has pedals, without which a vehicle can no longer be called a bicycle. The Frenchman can move around by pedaling if he is not in a hurry.

The fuel for the rocket bike is concentrated 90 percent hydrogen peroxide. The fuel is exposed to a silver catalyst, which promotes its breakdown into oxygen and water, which provides high pressure in the engine chamber. The bike is designed to handle ultra-high speeds with ease. With mind-blowing acceleration, the rocket bike can easily compete with the Ferrari F430 sports car. Moreover, the latter, against the backdrop of the rocket bike, looked like a rather slow vehicle at the Frenchman’s next race.

We offer you the “fastest bike” top, which presents the 5 fastest bikes.

One of the main reasons why we love bicycles is the opportunity to rush into the wind, to the accompaniment of rustling wheels. Speed attracts and beckons. Nowadays, many people prefer high-speed road bikes that provide high speed over long rides. The largest bicycle manufacturers are well aware of modern preferences, trying to please us with the fastest and fastest road bikes.

5. Scott Foil

Swiss brand Scott has always been distinguished by its innovative technologies, but in 2016 this manufacturer outdid itself by releasing one of the most aerodynamic and comfortable bicycles in the world. Bike Scott Foil was created for the Australian team Orica-GreenEDGE. Those who closely watched last year's Big Loop probably noted the good performance of the Australian Mike Matthews and the British Adam Yates, who made the most of the speed capabilities of the lightweight Scott Foil bike.

The Swiss aerodynamic bicycle Scott Foil was equipped with an 11-speed Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 transmission, without which it is impossible to imagine any modern professional speed bike, as well as Dura-Ace wheels and a modern PRO Vibe handlebar. The frame, designed for maximum aerodynamic effect, was made as light as possible. Also, according to engineers from the Swiss company Scott, they were able to modify the geometry of the down tube and the connection point of the seatposts.

In 2016, the popular American company Trek introduced a modern, fast bicycle, which is considered the true embodiment of speed. This model performed well at the world’s main cycling race, the Tour de France, entering the top 5 best road bikes in the world.

The best speed on a long ride is demonstrated by the modern geometry of the 600 series OCLV Carbon frame. The switch is responsible for easy gear shifting under heavy load. Shimano Dura Ace RD-9000. The Mavic Cosmic Pro Carbon Exalith wheels will support even the heaviest cyclist weight. The high-speed Trek Madone 9.5 model is positioned as a road unit, where the ideal balance of comfortable speed, low weight, and the use of high-tech Japanese Shimano Dura Ace equipment is maintained.

Famous Canadian bicycle manufacturer Cervelo released the Cervelo S5 model in 2011, and Team Garmin team leader - Cervelo, Norwegian Tour Khushovd appreciated this extraordinary aerodynamic machine, winning two stages at the 2011 Tour de France (No. 13 and No. 16). And in 2014, Cervelo S5 was further developed by Canadian engineers.

One of the fastest cyclist racers on the planet, Mark Cavendish, having moved to the South African team Dimension Data, received an improved version of the Cervelo S5 at his disposal and performed excellently on it at Tour de France 2016, this fast bike allowed him to win already in the first stage. At the same time, “Cannonball” was not limited to only the starting stage, but came first in stages No. 3, 6 and 14.

The Cervelo S5 is a lightweight and stiff pro bike, made from carbon and featuring innovative hardware. Shimano Dura Ace. It is distinguished by a powerful ride on the highway, with amazing roll on the Fast Forward F4R wheels.

Excellent aerodynamics and increased rigidity are demonstrated by a road bike model produced by a well-known company from Koblenz. A few years ago, German engineers decided to modify the Aeroad model, which the Spaniard had successfully raced for several years Joaquim Rodriguez. The two-time winner of the Vuelta Catalunya has been defending the colors of Katyusha since 2010. Nevertheless, specialists from CANYON Bikes in 2014 presented an even lighter and more dynamic model for racing. To achieve this, engineers used Trident pipe profile technology.

As a rule, aerodynamic characteristics are improved at the expense of other important properties: lightness, comfort and rigidity. To prevent this from happening, the German manufacturer had to work out all the details with special care. To avoid severe crosswind effects, the rear section of the pipe was widened. The new steering wheel deserves special attention Aerocockpit CF, which seems to grow from the front pipe.

In addition to Katyusha, alas, already Swiss, riders from the Movistar team compete excellently on bicycles from CANYON Bikes, who just today won the second stage of the Vuelta Catalunya 2017 in the team race.

In 2015, the leader of the Tinkoff-Saxo team Peter Sagan got the perfect lightning-fast machine for a successful performance on. The Slovak performed well on the Big Loop, winning the green jersey awarded to the winner of the points qualification. He had an entire aerodynamic speed system at his fingertips called the Specialized Venge Vias. The famous American company Specialized decided to make the fastest bicycle in the world and, it seems, has achieved its goal.

According to the company's engineers, the design of this model began with the development of a wind tunnel, which was tested over a long period of time. The FACT 11R carbon frame delivers maximum performance and the FACT carbon fork is designed for aerodynamic drag. The ultra-fast iron horse achieves maximum speed and excellent performance thanks to Roval CLX 64 wheels, which are resistant to side and head winds. This bike also features fully integrated brakes located under the camber of the wheel.

The Belgian team is currently riding the Specialized Venge Vias Quick-Step Floors.

Every day amazing and incredible things happen in our world. They also happen in the world of sports. And today I would like to tell you about the most interesting speed records associated with a bicycle, which undoubtedly surprise you to the core.

After…

Straight-line speed records for bicycles began to be set more than 100 years ago. Back in 1899, one eccentric thought of laying a wooden platform over the rails, and, moving after the train, managed to accelerate to a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, while traveling one mile in less than a minute. His name was Charles Murphy. To reduce air resistance, a rigid visor was attached to the end of the last carriage, which helped him set a world record. In a further series of attempts to establish the best speed, this principle of driving (following any vehicle) was used by many athletes. The race took place on Long Island, on a section of the railroad between Farmingdale and Babylon.

The next record was a speed of 139 kilometers per hour. It was installed by Albert Marquet in 1937 in Los Angeles, California. He “chased” a racing car, behind which a special frame covered with fabric was installed. The athlete’s bicycle was also modified by increasing the gear ratio, which can be seen in the photo below.

And if you were surprised by the huge front sprocket of the previous record holder, then look at the bicycle of Alf Letourne, who set a record on it - 175 kilometers per hour, which could not be broken over the next 53 years.

He also moved behind a car with a frame attached to it. This race took place in California in 1942.

Relatively recently, in 1995, on the salt lake plain, moving behind a car (to reduce air flow resistance) and using large gear ratios, a new record was set. The maximum speed of the bike was 268 kilometers per hour. The athlete's name is Fred Rompelberg. He is originally from the Netherlands and at the time of setting the record he was 50 years old, yes, you are not mistaken and this is not a typo. We will provide a photo of the cyclist with his “iron horse” below.

From the mountain

Previous records were united by the use, to one degree or another, of other vehicles, but the next ones were set while descending from hills. In 2007, while descending a snowy mountain slope, Austrian Markus Stockl managed to reach a speed of 210 km/h. But the absolute record holder for descending the mountain is Eric Barone, who in April 2014 reached a maximum speed of 223 kilometers per hour. It should be noted that Marcus used a production bike, albeit a very expensive one, while his opponent used a conceptual, unique model.

In a straight line

The record on a perfectly flat section was set by Sebastian Bowyer, who accelerated to 134 kilometers per hour on a special bicycle. His bicycle looked like a butterfly cocoon, with wheels slightly peeking out. All this provided excellent streamlining, which made it possible to develop such speed.

More recently, in 2014, François Gissy attached a jet engine to his bicycle and raced a Ferrari to a landslide victory. It accelerated to a speed of 333 kilometers per hour in 4.8 seconds and left the famous supercar far behind. At the moment this is the absolute speed record on a bicycle.

Conclusion

All these achievements are the fruit of titanic efforts, both physical and engineering. The development of new frontiers pushes humanity forward and ensures a sustainable trend towards excellence and development.

There are so many different bicycles in the world, designed for different riding styles! All of them - mountain, road, extreme, and any other - for participation in competitions are created in such a way that they fit into the official rules of the cycling union. There are different requirements for frame geometry, wheel diameter, and so on. But what happens if you bypass these standards and create a very fast, high-tech bike?

PG-Bike Black Trail

The parameters of this bike were calculated by leading engineers of the PG-Bike company, NASA specialists and UBC GMBH, a company that produces parts for Formula 1 cars. That is why the bike is made from innovative materials used in aircraft and spacecraft production. Titanium, carbon fiber, duralumin and magnesium give the bike amazing strength. The wheels, with the exception of the tires, are entirely made of carbon.

It uses a powerful 48-volt battery

The bike is included in the Guinness Book of Records as the exotic and fastest bike in the world. It also has competitors, which you will learn about later. The price of PG-Bike Black Trail ranges from 80 to 155 thousand US dollars. The difference in price is due to the fact that for an additional fee you can order any highlight to your taste, which will make the bike completely unique. The number of bicycles is limited and is only 667 copies.

This bike has an electric motor that can accelerate to 100 km/h! One charge is enough for a distance of up to two hundred kilometers. The battery charges from a regular outlet within three hours.

The weight of the bike, unfortunately, is not its advantage and amounts to as much as 19.8 kilograms. The frame and components of an electric bicycle are very light, but it is impossible to lighten the battery without losing capacity and voltage.

Excellent handling, aerodynamics and high speed - this mixture of positive qualities distinguishes the Black Trail from other bicycles. Another important feature is the on-board computer built into the frame, which shows speed, battery status, distance traveled and other information. The computer is installed or not at the request of the buyer, since it is very expensive.

Specialized fUCI

Engineers from Specialized decided to create a concept bike that would be the unattainable dream of all riders. Precisely unattainable, because he will not be allowed to participate in competitions due to violation of many rules.

The most noticeable innovation in this unusual bicycle is the different diameters of the front and rear wheels. The Cycling Federation allows only bicycles with the same wheel sizes to compete. The massive rear wheel has a diameter of 33.3 inches and rolls very well. It is very difficult to accelerate such a bike, but it has an electric motor built into the frame that helps the cyclist pedal.

The bike attracts attention not only with its appearance, but also with its amazing driving performance.

The frame is designed for excellent aerodynamics, including a streamlined trunk shape.

Robert Egger, who is the engineer and designer of this miracle, believes that adapting to the rules of the UCI (cyclists' union) is holding back one's potential in bicycle design. That is why he decided to create this bike, so that it would incorporate all the innovations in the cycling industry.

Specialized has asked to relax some of the bike requirements so that the company's biggest project will be in demand among riders. It is unlikely that they will ever succeed, because in bicycle racing the physical preparation of the athlete and the level of his technique, and not the power of the engine, should be decisive.

Specialized's fUCI prototype shows us what bike manufacturers could create if they weren't constrained by anything. But the Cycling Association carefully considers its rules, and without them it would be more traumatic and even fatal.

Rocket powered bike

It’s hard to call this piece of engineering a bicycle, because you don’t need to pedal at all, thanks to the rocket launcher.

Francis Gizzi rode this bike and reached an extremely high speed of 263 km/h!

The rocket launcher was developed by Exotic Thermo Engineering. The engine runs on liquid hydrogen peroxide and is renowned for its amazing thrust. This bike outperforms even sports cars!

A special frame was made for a bicycle with a rocket launcher, completely different from other frames

The frame of this bike differs from others in its unusual riding position and the heavily angled angle of the steering column. The shape of a person on a bicycle becomes streamlined and does not impede movement at all due to less air resistance.

The shallow steering angle is designed to prevent you from flying over the handlebars when braking at high speed, which is more likely to be fatal for the rider.

The fastest bikes include some type of engine, because it is difficult for an athlete to achieve high speed on his own, if not completely impossible. A bicycle is an open vehicle, which means that fast bikes are extremely dangerous to the health and even life of the rider, so it is strongly not recommended to reach high speeds! The maximum speed of bicycles without a motor is difficult to estimate, because it largely depends on the training of the rider.

It so happens that we know much more about car racers than about outstanding cyclists. This is because Formula 1 is promoted much more than the Tour de France. However, there are a lot of amazing cyclists in the world who have surprised the world with their abilities. So, who are the fastest cyclists?

The absolute world speed record of 268 km/h was set by Dutch cyclist Fred Rompelberg. In 1995, he accelerated to such speed on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah (USA) - this is a flat plain formed by salt deposits. Another component of its success was the air bell from the vehicle in front and the maximum gear ratio. However, it is worth noting that driving at such high speeds is very dangerous. Last time, Rompelberg reached a speed of 220 km/h and fell off his bike, as a result of which the athlete received more than a dozen fractures.

The world record for speed on a descent was set by Frenchman Christian Taillefer. He accelerated to 212 km/h on a special bicycle. The athlete was driving along an ice-covered ski slope in France. Achieving such a high speed was made possible by the maximum reduction in air resistance, which was achieved thanks to a special flat frame, flat handlebar and tight tights for the rider.

In 2007, Austrian athlete Markus Stoeskl set a record for mountain biking on snow. At the high mountain resort of La Parva (Chile), the cyclist managed to accelerate to 210 km/h.

Another Frenchman, Eric Barone, reached a speed of 130 km/h while driving from the slope of an extinct volcano in Nicaragua. He managed to beat the previous record of 118 km/h, which he himself did in 1999 in the Hawaiian Islands. True, the descent into Nicaragua was not without incident, as a result of which Eric’s bicycle broke into 2 parts on a rocky section of the slope. The athlete himself miraculously survived, but received multiple injuries.

After that incident, Eric organized descents from the mountains twice more and was quite successful.

Dutch student Sebastian Bovier was able to reach speeds of up to 133 km/h. This speed is currently considered the maximum on flat terrain, unless, of course, driving with the help of some external aids is taken into account. The ride took place on the plains of Nevada.

A very unusual record was set by cyclist Murhay back in 1899. He was able to accelerate to 90 km/h, although they accelerated him with the help of a steam locomotive. But nevertheless, at that time this was a very respectable speed.

As for the UCI hour record, it was broken by English cyclist Chris Boardman in 1996 in Manchester. This result was achieved using a bicycle equipped with a cast frame, a special handlebar and a disc rear wheel. However, this record was not officially recognized.

At the moment, the officially recognized UCI record is 49.7 km in 1 hour. It was installed by Czech cyclist Ondrej Sosenka. A specially designed bicycle brought him success.

The record for another version in cycling was broken in 1984. Italian cyclist Francesco Moser rode a road bike with disc wheels at a speed of 51.15 km/h. Rumor has it that Francesco used stimulant drugs, which would now be recognized as doping. But since they were not prohibited at that time, the record was accepted.

Francesco's predecessor was Eddie Merch, who set a record of 49.4 km in 1 hour. With such speed he rode at the Olympic Velodrome in the capital of Mexico.

As we see, many cyclists can give some rally participants a head start. Moreover, cyclists are no less at risk - here every wrong move can also end very sadly. But when has this stopped athletes?

Probably not everyone knows that some bicycle models are capable of competing with sports cars in their speed characteristics. Naturally, such designs are equipped with an electric motor, which allows them to gain greater speed.

The top 10 included fastest bikes in the world. The rating also included the most unusual and expensive two-wheeled modes of transport.

FFR Trikes 422 Alpha

FFR Trikes 422 Alpha opens the top ten fastest bikes. The maximum speed that an iron horse with an electric motor can develop is 50 km/h. In fact, this model is a tracycle and has a very unusual design. The design is equipped with a powerful Astro engine, which allows it to reach quite impressive speeds for this type of transport.

Optibike 1100R are considered the highest quality and quite fast bicycles with a maximum speed of 65 km/h. The peculiarity of this model is not only its high quality and durability, but also its manual assembly. The Optibike 1100R is designed to handle the most extreme conditions, which it overcomes with ease. The battery charge of an electric bike is enough to travel a distance of 90 km.

Trefecta DRT is an unusual electric folding bicycle that also boasts its speed characteristics, reaching 70 km/h. The speed of the two-wheeled electric vehicle is controlled through a control panel located on the steering wheel. The model has a 4 kW engine and a 14-speed gearbox. At low speed, the engine power is controlled using pedal control. While driving, the computer display displays all the necessary information: speed, battery charge, distance traveled, etc. The cost of such transport will cost approximately 25 thousand euros.

Audi Ebike is considered one of the fastest electric bicycles with a maximum speed of 80 km/h. The hybrid provides both pedal and electric control. Externally, its design is somewhat reminiscent of a sports racing bicycle. In addition, the development of the Audi company has rich functionality. The steering wheel of the hybrid has a computer with touch controls, the display of which displays various functions, including speed ones. The seat height level is easily adjusted using a specially built-in button. The Audi Ebike has three speed modes: the first is pedal; the second is mixed (pedal and electric motor); the third is electric, allowing a two-wheeled vehicle to reach maximum speed. An electronic control system located on the rear wheel ensures the cyclist's balance and safety.

Bomber Stealth is one of the fastest bikes in the world, capable of accelerating to 80 km/h. It is designed for extreme travel conditions and at the same time has a low noise level. The reliable, high-strength frame of the electric bicycle is made of material that is used in the construction of aircraft. In this model, the cyclist is given the opportunity to adjust the degree of shock absorber stiffness, which allows him to maintain maximum control over the control. The electric motor of a two-wheeled vehicle is capable of operating in two modes - fast and slow, which allows you to control the maximum comfortable acceleration speed. This hybrid bike cannot be called light, because its weight exceeds 50 kg.

Aurumania was ranked as the most expensive bicycle in the world. In total, there are about a dozen exclusive models with gold plating. The bicycle saddle is made of high-quality leather, and the handlebars and frame are interspersed with Swarovski crystals. Not everyone can afford such sporty luxury, since the manufacturer asks 80 thousand euros for his creation.

Ack Attack - this record holder is not a bicycle, but is also a powerful, high-speed two-wheeled vehicle. This is the fastest motorcycle in the world. The two-wheeled vehicle was able to obtain such a proud title thanks to Rocky Robinson, who in 2010 demonstrated all its power and unprecedented speed, setting a record of 606 km/h. The developers still haven’t revealed the secret of such incredible speed. What is known is that Ack Attack has two powerful engines. Externally, the design looks more like a rocket than a regular motorcycle.

Black Trail from PG-Bikes

Black Trail from PG - Bikes reveals the top three fastest bikes in the world. In addition, the model is one of the most expensive electric bicycles in the world with a cost of 60 thousand euros. The maximum speed that the Black Trail from PG-Bikes is capable of is 100 km/h. It is made of modern and highest quality materials, which largely determined its price and speed. The bicycle was able to take an honorable place in the Guinness Book of Records for its uniqueness, high-speed features and one-of-a-kind design. Under the frame of the iron horse there is a powerful engine that determines its speed performance. In total, about 700 of these unique copies were produced.

Eta Bike ranks second in the list of the fastest bicycles in the world. The maximum speed of which a two-wheeled vehicle is capable is 140 km/h. Eta is a development of AeroVelo, which has endowed its creation with excellent hydrodynamics, excellent ergonomics and resistance to strong tilts. In addition to impressive speed indicators, Eta boasts a very original look. It has a protective outer shell that ensures the safety of the cyclist. The weight of the structure is 55 kg, which is quite a lot for a bicycle and very little for a vehicle that can move as fast as an average car. The company says that today's speed is not the limit for their invention. Soon the design will be improved to show unprecedented performance.

Exotic Thermo Engineering

Exotic Thermo Engineering is recognized as the fastest bike in the world. The two-wheeled iron horse is capable of reaching a speed of 236 km/h. The transport unit, developed by Exotic Thermo Engineering, is equipped with a rocket afterburner as fuel, which uses hydrogen peroxide. The bike's record speed performance and fast acceleration (only 4.8 seconds to 100 km/h) allow it to compete even with a sports car. The vehicle has an elongated design and a flat steering angle, which prevents the cyclist from flying over the handlebars when braking at high speeds.

The bicycle is one of mankind's greatest inventions. Without a doubt. It is not known for certain when exactly and by whom this magnificent means of transportation was invented. It is generally accepted that the bicycle appeared at the very beginning of the 19th century. And since then, every person has been a cyclist at least once in his life. More than two centuries later, we can see how much the bicycle has evolved as an invention. Today, without diving into a deep analysis, based only on our own experience, we can say with confidence that there are dozens of different specialized bicycles, if not hundreds. There are known to all of us one/two/three-wheeled, city, mountain, high-speed, hybrid and many others. Some technologies used in bicycle construction today would have been perceived as “space” twenty years ago. But there are also completely exotic, one-off specimens.

Now we will talk about another new product in the world of bicycles, which is capable of developing incredibly high speeds, but at the same time is distinguished by its simplicity and is driven exclusively by the muscular power of the legs. Donhou Bicycles Company
is based in London, and it was founded by a man who has been “sick” of bicycles since childhood, through whose hands and feet went both regular pleasure bikes, BMX and mountain bikes (of course, they were all used for their intended purpose). Tom Donghoo, having gained considerable cycling experience, decided to establish a small production and start with the production of handmade and custom-made bicycle frames. To the surprise and happiness of the founder, the manufactory showed quite rapid growth and was already awarded two prestigious awards in 2011 and 2012. It was decided to create a full-fledged bicycle that would surprise many and bring great fame and glory to the company. Thus, in April, as part of the Bespoked Bristol 2013 show, the Donhou “100mph bike” was presented. The name is very simple and telling - a bicycle that reaches a speed of 100 miles per hour (160 km/h).

Visually, the bike is distinguished by a truly gigantic Royce gear, which measures 17 inches in diameter and has 104 teeth. The chain is so well measured that it is guaranteed not to fall off at speeds above 70 mph. The bike also features an oval shape of the steel frame tubes, which provides better stability at high speeds. Making such a frame from aluminum turned out to be quite a challenge. The lowered position of the steering wheel, shifted towards the front wheel, helps reduce aerodynamic drag. Special attention was paid to the brake system. Brakes are supplied by SRAM and AVID. It was decided to install a disc brake at the front, because it is the front wheel that bears the bulk of the weight when the speed decreases. At the rear, we made do with a regular brake, the main purpose of which is to help the cyclist slow down the pedals. Because of the large gears, the bike has a fair amount of torque. On the other hand, this record-breaking bike is clearly not designed for long trips. Only if the cyclist does not have super endurance.

As the head of the company says, he created this bicycle in such a way that its appearance resembled the appearance of the average specimens that are usually made for the company’s customers. If you remove the gear and close your eyes to the lowered steering wheel, then the model can easily pass for a household bicycle. It remains to answer a couple of the most interesting questions - when and was the speed record set? Unfortunately, at the moment Tom was not able to reach the estimated 160 km/h. All he could squeeze out of himself (literally) was 100 km/h. To accelerate to the stated 160 km/h, the company needs an experienced and courageous cyclist, ideally a professional from cycling, which Tom is currently looking for. So the proud name of the new product “100mph bike” remains valid. Moreover, it is stated that this speed can be achieved on a straight road, rather than rolling down a hill. This is another interesting detail to note.
