Japanese SUVs with low fuel consumption. The most economical SUV in terms of fuel consumption in Russia

An inexpensive crossover is a great opportunity for Russian drivers to get a highly capable vehicle at an affordable price, which will cope perfectly with country roads, rough terrain and bad weather. It should be noted that a large number of crossovers are produced in the world today. However, only 10-15% can adapt to the harsh Russian roads. After all, in winter the car is faced with high snowdrifts, and in spring and autumn - deep puddles and mud.

Recently, crossovers have become popular due to their all-wheel drive system, excellent visibility, and significant ground clearance. And all this is complemented by the serious and solid appearance that such cars have. Naturally, its maintenance is much more expensive due to fuel consumption and a more complex design than passenger cars. Therefore, designers created simplified versions of SUVs - all-terrain vehicles. They have a monocoque body, good ground clearance for Russian roads and off-road qualities, in comparison with simple passenger cars. Moreover, the cost of such cars is lower than that of SUVs. If you want to purchase a powerful and fully equipped car on a limited budget, pay attention to used models on the secondary market.

Let's consider inexpensive crossovers that are suitable for Russian roads and will perform well in urban conditions.

Compact crossover Skoda Yeti

An economical crossover at a relatively affordable price, which is in demand among Russian drivers today. The model has many configurations, which allows each buyer to choose the one that suits them. The engines are available in three versions - 1.2, 1.4 and 1.8 liters (105, 122 and 152 hp, respectively). The model is all-wheel drive only when equipped with a 1.8-liter engine. The gearbox can be manual or automatic. The basic equipment, if desired and available, can be supplemented with an on-board computer and a modern audio system.

The cost of 1 km is 7.09 rubles/km.

The advantages of the crossover are the following:

  • economical fuel consumption thanks to a 7-speed robotic gearbox that fully utilizes the engine's potential;
  • it is inexpensive and available for service in almost all regions;
  • the ability to choose your car from 18 modifications;
  • sound insulation of the engine compartment is made of felt of different densities and microporous rubber;
  • thoughtful aerodynamics under the bottom;
  • the ability to individually regulate the air flow in the climate control system.

Yetty also has several disadvantages.:

  • the rear suspension arms are located low and therefore increase the chances of catching something under the wheels;
  • engines are demanding on the quality of gasoline and have difficulty starting if you do not follow the manufacturer’s recommendations and fill in with low-quality fuel;
  • the radiator requires protection from oncoming stones;
  • The 1.2 turbine operates at the limit of its capabilities and therefore, with constant use, its service life is reduced.

The car is considered the most economical of its class, as it consumes per 100 km:

  • 1.2 AT+MT – when driving in the city 7.9 l, on the highway – 5.9 l;
  • 1.4 AT+MT – when driving in the city 8.9 l, on the highway – 5.9 l;
  • 1.8 AT+MT – when driving in the city 10.1 liters, on the highway – 6.9 liters.

Regardless of the modification, the car has the following characteristics: station wagon, trunk threshold height is 71.2 cm, ground clearance is 18 cm, fuel tank capacity is 60 liters. The model has an electromechanical power steering. The trunk has a volume of 410 liters.

The most affordable Renault Duster SUV

A budget cross-suv that today occupies a leading position in sales thanks to the modernization of the model, as a result of which the car has acquired higher reliability and comfort. The basic model has a small set of options, so buyers often choose the average configuration. However, even the most “stuffed” Renault Duster will cost no more than a million rubles. The car is very comfortable when driving in the city thanks to energy-intensive extended suspension, and also performs well off-road.

The cost of 1 km is 6 rubles/km.

The car has the following advantages:

  • reinforced body structure with programmed deformation zones;
  • ABS with emergency braking assistance system;
  • affordable price;
  • a wide range of configurations, the ability to choose gearboxes and engines (including diesel);
  • excellent handling on steep descents thanks to a 6-speed manual transmission with a shortened first gear;
  • high ground clearance, which is 200 mm.

Its disadvantages are the following:

  • weak door seals, which allows wind to blow inside the cabin;
  • The mirror adjustment is located under the handbrake lever;
  • very dirty and impractical upholstery of seats and interior (in lower trim levels)
  • short-lived battery, which after 2-3 years of operation begins to discharge quickly;
  • high probability of wire breakage under the bottom (rear axle connection) due to lack of protection;
  • Bushings and anti-roll bar struts receive increased load and quickly fail.

As for fuel consumption per 100 km, it consists of the following parameters:

  • 1.5D 4WD diesel – 5.9 l in the city, 5 l on the highway;
  • 1.6 4WD – 11 l in the city, 7 l on the highway;
  • 2.0 AT+MT 4WD – 10.3 l in the city, 6.5 l on the highway; restyled version (2015) – 8.7 l (AT) and 7.8 l (MT).

The volume of the car's fuel tank is 50 liters. Body type – SUV. The trunk of the car is quite spacious and has a volume of 475 liters. Brakes: front disc, rear drum. Renault Duster is available in various configurations - both with 4x4 all-wheel drive and with only 4x2 front-wheel drive.

Nissan Juke - the choice of young people

Nissan Juke is considered a relatively inexpensive and compact crossover, popular among both men and women. Its design is sporty and aggressive, and the size is not much larger than a standard hatchback. The car has several configuration options, but there are only four engines to choose from, namely 2 naturally aspirated gasoline engines, one turbodiesel and a charged turbocharged gasoline engine with 190 horsepower. Depending on the specific configuration, power can vary between 117-190 hp. The car is equipped with a manual transmission or CVT. An interesting fact is that the Juke's relative is the Nissan Micra, which is significantly smaller in size.

The cost of 1 km is 7.43 rubles/km.

Crossover advantages:

  • excellent handling and maneuverability;
  • thanks to all-wheel drive and multi-link suspension, good stability of the car on the road is ensured;
  • ground clearance of the front-wheel drive version is 190 mm;
  • Fuel consumption is quite low.

Minuses:

  • there are blind spots in the rear view (due to the features of the body);
  • after a long drive on the highway at speed, especially in cold weather, traction disappears, the engine does not respond to pressing the pedals;
  • front pads are enough for 30 thousand km;
  • The front door locks may freeze and the doors stop opening from the outside; after opening, they may not close from the inside.

The fuel consumption of this car per 100 km is considered quite economical and is:

  • 1.6 5-MT, 2WD – 7.5 l in the city, 5 l on the highway;
  • 1.6 5-MT, 2WD – 8.1 l in the city, 5.3 l on the highway;
  • 1.6 6-MT, 2WD – 9.1 l in the city, 5.6 l on the highway;
  • 1.6 7-variator 4x4 – 10.2 l in the city, 6 l on the highway.

The latest version of the Nissan Juke can be purchased with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The cost of all-wheel drive is higher, but this is how the best sides of this crossover are revealed. At the front, the car is equipped with standard MacPherson struts, at the rear – a torsion beam and guide arms.

Power and strength – Nissan Qashqai

A long time ago, the Nissan Qashqai crossover took its place of honor in the leading positions of the Russian market. This car is equipped with 1.6 or 2.0 liter engines (114 and 141 hp, respectively) and turbodiesels of 110 and 150 hp. After restyling, 1.2 and 1.5 liter power plants became available. The car can be equipped with either a manual transmission or a CVT. The all-wheel drive version has exclusively a 2-liter engine.

The cost of 1 km is 6.6 rubles./km.

Clear advantages of Qashqai:

  • increased ground clearance (for all-wheel drive versions it reaches 240 mm);
  • good traction for all engines;
  • exchange rate stability is maintained and therefore control is comfortable;
  • fuel is consumed economically, especially in diesel versions.

But Nissan Qashqai also has disadvantages:

  • the variator is not fully developed by the manufacturer and, as a result, is short-lived and works reliably only with careful driving;
  • low life of axle bearings due to unprotected bearing design;
  • users notice many blind spots;
  • the steering rack is unreliable and problems begin after 50 thousand km;
  • the engine and interior will have to warm up for a long time in winter;
  • for all-wheel drive modifications, the driveshaft crosspiece lasts about 80-100 capes. kilometers, after which you will have to replace the entire driveshaft.

A car's fuel consumption per 100 km depends on its configuration:

  • 1.2 DIG-T 6-mech (diesel) – 7.8 l in the city, 5.3 l on the highway;
  • 2.0 6-mech (gasoline) – 10.7 l in the city, 6 l on the highway;
  • 2.0 7-var (gasoline) – 9.2 l in the city, 5.5 l on the highway;
  • 2.0 7-var 4x4 (gasoline) – 9.6 l in the city, 6 l on the highway;
  • 1.6 dCi 7-var (diesel) – 5.6 l in the city, 4.5 l on the highway;
  • 1.5 dCi 6-mech (diesel) – 4.2 l in the city, 3.6 l on the highway.

The design of the Nissan Qashqai consists of a steel monocoque body, independent wheel suspensions on strong subframes, transversely mounted engines, front-wheel drive or automatically connected all-wheel drive for the 2-liter configuration. It has three operating modes - 2WD, Auto (automatic connection) and Lock (clutch blocking, automatically turns off at a speed of 30 km per hour). A special electric power steering is built into the steering shaft.

Depending on the vehicle configuration, equipment may include: 6 PB, ABS, air conditioning, electric mirrors and windows, active head restraints, headlights, heated front seats, etc.

Practical crossover Mitsubishi ASX

Mitsubishi ASX can have one of three engine options - 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 liters, with a rated power of 117, 140, 150 hp. respectively. The first type comes with a manual gearbox, while the others may have a CVT. All-wheel drive is only possible with a 2-liter engine and a CVT; this equipment is quite expensive.

The cost of 1 km is 7.31 rubles/km.

The car has the following advantages:

  • increased ground clearance - 195 mm along the exhaust pipe under the rear suspension;
  • very economical fuel consumption;
  • excellent handling and geometric cross-country ability - approach angle is 19 degrees, departure angle is 31 degrees, the car has the smallest turning angle in its class.

But the advantages are complemented by disadvantages, including:

  • lack of manual transmission with all-wheel drive;
  • weak rear shock absorbers;
  • the suspension is too stiff for Russian roads;
  • problems with engine detonation;
  • poor sound insulation;
  • very thin metal.

Fuel consumption per 100 km is:

  • 1.6 MT – 7.8 l in the city, 5 l on the highway;
  • 1.8 CVT – 9.8 l in the city, 6.4 l on the highway;
  • 2.0 CVT – 10.5 liters in the city, 6.8 liters on the highway.

The vehicle's ground clearance is 195 mm. The trunk is not capacious enough according to driver reviews, but the volume declared by the manufacturer is 420 liters. Tank capacity – 63 l. The basic equipment in other modifications is complemented by a convenient climate control system, full power accessories, a battery with increased capacity, heated seats and mirrors for better visibility in the cold, and an engine starting system in cold weather.

Kia Sportage – a crossover for active drivers

The car of Korean origin, the Kia Sportage, has long been popular among Russians - both old and new generations. The vehicle configuration may include both a manual transmission and an automatic transmission. It is possible to purchase a Kia Sportage with all-wheel drive, but this option is the most expensive. There is also a diesel modification.

The cost of 1 km is 7.41 rubles/km.

Pros of the model:

  • excellent handling due to a small turning radius (short steering rack);
  • unpretentiousness regarding fuel, you can even use 92 gasoline;
  • smooth ride, good sound insulation and climate control system provide high ride comfort;
  • high safety thanks to electronic systems, airbags.

But the Kia Sportage also has some disadvantages:

  • fairly rigid suspension, which is designed for good roads;
  • presence of blind spots and poor visibility;
  • constant knocking in the suspension;
  • shock absorbers are prone to leaking;
  • the doors don't close well.

Fuel consumption per 100 km is as follows:

  • 2.0 MPI 4WD petrol (MT) – 10.9 l in the city, 6.6 l on the highway;
  • 2.0 MPI 2WD petrol (MT) – 10.7 l in the city, 6.3 l on the highway;
  • 2.0 MPI 2WD petrol (AT) – 10.9 l in the city, 6.1 l on the highway;
  • 2.0 MPI 4WD petrol (AT) – 11.2 l in the city, 6.7 l on the highway;
  • 1.6 T-GDI 4WD petrol (robot) – 9.2 l in the city, 6.5 l on the highway;
  • 2.0 CRDi 4WD diesel (AT) – 7.9 l in the city, 5.3 l on the highway.

Standard equipment of the model includes power steering, power windows, transponder immobilizer, central locking and radio with 6 speakers, air conditioning, ventilation with a microfilter. The buyer can choose a package with ABS, ESP, roof rails, traction control, audio system, air curtains and side airbags.

Choosing the ideal inexpensive SUV

Which crossover should you choose if your budget is limited, but you want to use resources efficiently to get a truly off-road and reliable car?

If you are purchasing a car for driving in urban conditions, then a powerful engine will not be practical. However, it will come in handy when traveling over rough terrain, in a village or on a country road. It is better to choose a higher ground clearance (3-4 cm above obstacles), since the car sways when driving and can catch objects with its bottom.

It should be noted that diesel engines are considered more economical, but gasoline engines are better adapted to the Russian climate. But do not forget that repairing diesel engines is always much more expensive.

It is better to initially set a budget for the purchase, which takes into account both the cost of the car and the costs of maintenance and insurance. You can pick up a car on the secondary market, thereby saving money.

It is possible to choose an inexpensive crossover and feel the advantages of an all-terrain vehicle. To do this, just decide on the model of the budget crossovers presented above and choose the modification that suits you.

Powerful SUVs stand out from the general background, both in large cities and in the most remote corners where automobile civilization has not yet reached.

They are often luxurious crossovers, the appearance of which is in no way inferior to sedans and station wagons of the most prestigious models and brands. Inside, the passengers of these cars are surrounded by incredibly luxurious interiors made using the most expensive and high-quality types of leather, wood and plastic, including carbon fiber in some top versions. And their technical component often surpasses almost any passenger car in its innovative solutions. The essence of these cars is to surprise and amaze neighbors downstream, showing the wealth of their owners.

But few of those who buy these types of vehicles want their money to go down the drain. No matter what, gasoline and even diesel costs money, and in some countries quite a lot.

We have collected the tested cars in one article to show you which models have the least moderate appetites.

The data on the tested cars was taken from one large German website, where fuel consumption tests are also carried out during the testing of new cars.

The 155 kilometer test section includes a route running along both autobahns, country highways and city roads. In some sections the cars were pushed to maximum speed. In others, German journalists drove within the permitted maximum speed on the highway; additional parts of the highway passing through the city made it possible to understand what fuel consumption would be when driving in dense traffic.

This driving mode, which includes urban, mixed and suburban cycles, optimally shows the real state of affairs for cars under normal conditions.

It just so happens that testing of new cars at the testing grounds of one or another manufacturer takes place under ideal conditions and their numbers in most cases can hardly be considered reference.

The list consists of SUVs produced between 2010 and 2014. It includes crossovers with the highest fuel consumption of all segments, from compact to mid-range and premium cars.

The undisputed winner among all cars over four years was the American crossover model Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, with fuel consumption of 15.6 liters per 100 km. A very powerful indicator.

For comparison, this is 3.7 liters more than the modern Audi S8 and 3.9 liters more than the BMW 750Li. Neither one nor the other executive sedan, for which efficiency is clearly placed in the background, has other advantages in addition to lower consumption; they are more environmentally friendly, as German experts say.

And if we compare it with SUVs that were nominated for another award, “The Most Economical Crossover,” Jeep, which topped the list, in some cases is up to 100% inferior to them in efficiency, that is, it consumes twice as much fuel.

The most popular models on the Russian market were the following.

Experts also call the well-handled and reliable Subaru Forester (from 1.4 million), the stylish, powerful and safe Mitsubishi Outlander (from 1.08 million), the comfortable Toyota RAV4 (from 1 million), and the solid and high-tech Mazda CX-5 worthy of attention. (from 1.18 million), practical and technological Volkswagen Tiguan (from 1.12 million).

The most inexpensive economical crossover

Let's make a reservation right away - we don't touch SUVs. This is a different caste, and it requires a special approach. By the term “crossover”, or SUV, or beach jeep, or curb conqueror, or CUV, we mean a compact car with a station wagon body, with all-wheel drive, and with the desire to look like an all-terrain vehicle. It can sometimes be expressed in inflated clearance and self-esteem, but this is not at all necessary.

There is no sense from a crossover as from an SUV, so we will not make increased demands. Since we are not choosing the most beautiful car, the Geely MK Cross is the cheapest crossover in the country. The car costs about 380 thousand, depending on the configuration. Featuring a very controversial design and terrible build quality, it has all the hallmarks of a classic CUV, while consuming just 6 liters per 100 km on the combined cycle. Recommended for use in the dark.

His fellow countryman and classmate, Chery Beat, is creeping up on him in terms of pricing policy. In terms of beauty and workmanship, it is not inferior to Geely, or even worse, but according to the passport data it is a little more economical. With a 1.3 liter engine and 89 hp. it asks for 5.8 L/100 km on the highway. True, practice shows that the passport data of the Chinese does not always correspond to reality.

If we were wondering what is the cheapest crossover, we've answered it. Now let's try to find the most economical one.

The most economical crossover

Here the choice will be difficult, since you can get lost in the source data. The most economical are hybrid cars. Their internal combustion engine works in tandem with an electric motor, and thanks to this symbiosis they can achieve good efficiency. But they are very expensive, so they can only be called economical. Audi Q7 TDI is one of the most technologically advanced solutions. This is a hybrid crossover at its finest. The car is equipped with a reliable three-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 240 horsepower, and fuel consumption on the highway is no more than 7 liters

With such serious power, this is a convincing indicator. The diesel engine is paired with an electric one, and the car has a system for recharging lithium batteries during braking and diesel operation. But a diesel-electric Audi costs more than 2 million rubles, so it is inappropriate to talk about its economic ambitions. Skoda Yeti1.2 TSI is an excellent example of German quality combined with Czech rationality. The crossover consumes only 6 liters per hundred, while remaining in the price segment of 600 thousand rubles.

The technical characteristics of the car are excellent - the suspension is from the Golf, all-wheel drive is from the VW Tiguan, and the twin-turbo petrol engine puts 110 horsepower at the driver's disposal. Among crossovers of this class that run on gasoline, Yeti is the most economical, given its low price and high build quality.

If we break records, then the championship in terms of minimum fuel consumption belongs to Renault Captur, a French crossover, updated in March 2015 to the Pure version. The car is equipped with two gasoline engines - 0.8 and 1.0 liters, but the most economical crossover with a diesel engine makes it a 110 horsepower unit with a volume of 1.5 liters.

The crossover needs only 3.5 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km, and city consumption differs little from highway consumption. In Europe, the Pure version of the car, with a glass roof and the R-Link multimedia system in the base, costs €25,000.

Economical premium models

By improving technology in the automotive industry, manufacturers have found many ways to increase efficiency: by reducing the weight of the car, increasing aerodynamic qualities and other nuances. In terms of fuel consumption, the least expensive in the premium class segment were:

  1. Mercedes-Benz ML (from 3 million rubles) - the most powerful engine (300 hp) of a 2-ton crossover consumes only 11 liters (6-7 liters of diesel) in the combined cycle.
  2. The new hybrid Lexus RX is distinguished by a reduced level of emissions of harmful substances and a small appetite with a charged battery - 6.5 liters of gasoline (with a discharged 12-14 liters).
  3. Mercedes GLA in trim levels with all-wheel drive and a turbo engine consumes only 6 liters of gasoline on average.
  4. BMW X1 (from 2 million) with a consumption of 5.2 liters of diesel.
  5. BMW X3 (from 1.9 million) equipped with a diesel engine - 5.8 liters in the combined cycle.
  6. Range Rover Evoque with a diesel turbo engine from Land Rover (price starts from 2 million rubles) - on average about 6 liters.

It’s hard to imagine, but high quality, all-wheel drive and a powerful engine can still be combined with low fuel costs and minimal emissions. For example, one of the leaders in our rating, the Mercedes GML model, consumes a minimum thanks to increased pressure, electronic control systems and variable turbine blade geometry.

A presentable, functional and powerful car can also be economical. And it is not necessary to give preference to diesel models if we are talking about a difference of 1-2 liters.

Despite the fact that oil prices continue to fall rapidly, fuel, in turn, is in no hurry to become cheaper. Some explain this by the growth of currencies and the devaluation of the ruble, some complain about the collusion of energy market monopolists, and others continue to accuse the government of inaction.

But whatever you say, in times of crisis we all have to save, even owners of respectable jeeps. However, you should not judge a car by its appearance, because modern SUVs and crossovers are no less economical than domestic Ladas.

Which of these not small cars consume less fuel? We have compiled a rating of seven options.

1st place: Toyota Urban Cruiser

The Urban Cruiser was introduced to the Asian market in 2008, but a year later the crossover began to be sold in the countries of the Old World. Since then, the popularity of this model has broken all imaginable and unimaginable records. And all thanks to extremely economical fuel consumption.

By the way, the basic version of the Urban Cruiser with a diesel engine (1,400 cm3) with 85 horsepower and a manual transmission consumes about 5.2 liters of fuel in the combined cycle, outside the city – no more than 4.5 liters!

What other arguments can be voiced in favor of the Toyota Urban Cruiser? This is a budget, and at the same time, high-quality car from a famous Japanese manufacturer, no more and no less.

2nd place: Renault Duster

The brainchild of the French automobile industry is not the most economical jeep in our TOP only because it loses to the Toyota Urban Cruiser by only 0.4 liters of fuel on a flat road. In urban realities, the performance of both cars is approximately the same. Otherwise, Renault is head and shoulders above its Asian competitor:

  • more presentable body design;
  • ground clearance - 210 mm. versus 165 mm;
  • revolutions (rpm) – 4,000 versus 3,800;
  • relatively inexpensive maintenance, etc.

Three modifications of the compact crossover are available to buyers on the domestic market: with two gasoline engines of 1,599 and 1,999 cm3 with a power of 107 and 142 hp, as well as with one diesel unit with a volume of 1,399 cm3, which is in particular demand among car enthusiasts.

3rd place: BMW X1 20d AT

BMW has a lot of advantages. The main thing is a big name, which has become one of the attributes of luxurious life since the release of the television series “Brigade” and the first “Boomer” on the country’s screens.

Among other advantages of the X1 20d AT, the following should be highlighted:

  • minimum fuel consumption in the combined cycle – 5.4 liters;
  • acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h – no more than 8.1 seconds;
  • fairly high ground clearance - 194 mm;
  • rpm – 2,800;
  • automatic 8-speed gearbox.

Overall, the BMW X1 is an uncompromising economical SUV that's worth the money.

4th place: Range Rover Evoque

The Evoque mini-jeep is a classic premium car that surprised the world with its modest demands in terms of fuel consumption. With a powerful engine of 190 hp, the noble Briton needs 5.5 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km.

Without a doubt, the Evoque has cemented its status as a paradoxical crossover that dispels the myth that expensive SUVs can't be fuel-efficient.

5th place: Ford Kuga

Initially, in the US and EU, the jeep was produced with two gasoline engines for 150 and 180 horsepower. But especially for the Eastern European market, Ford developed a 2-liter turbodiesel with 142 hp. This power plant, together with a manual transmission, consumes up to 5.89 liters of heavy fuel when driving around the city.

As for the dynamic characteristics, here too the Ford Kuga has proven itself to be excellent, accelerating to 100 km/h in a compromise of 10.1 seconds. A very good result for this class of jeeps, but, unfortunately, it does not reach the level of the BMW X1.

6th place: Hyundai Santa Fe

The economical Santa Fe SUV with an electronically optimized engine (2200 cm3) is content with 6 liters of fuel per 100 km of highway. By and large, the South Korean road conqueror is good at everything. All-terrain capability and excellent technical equipment will not leave you indifferent.

Plus, the car has a spacious trunk and a comfortable interior, which is ideal for long trips with the whole family.

More recently, the Hyundai Santa Fe was restyled, giving the smooth contours of the car body a more aggressive and status look.

7th place: Ford Escape Hybrid

Our TOP is completed by the Escape Hybrid hybrid SUV, which has two “hearts” at its disposal:

  • gasoline unit (135 hp);
  • three-phase synchronous electric motor with 95 hp, manufactured by Toyota.

The principle of operation of the two engines is that up to 39 km/h the car operates on electric power, and at speeds above 39.1 km/h it automatically switches on the internal combustion engine. With this system, the Ford Escape Hybrid consumes about 7 liters of fuel per standard 100 km.

For those who are thinking about buying a comfortable, roomy, but at the same time economical car, experts from the Price-Auto website have compiled a rating of crossovers with the lowest fuel consumption. Let us clarify that we are talking about the most popular SUV models equipped with an automatic transmission and an engine with a power of up to 150 hp. and all-wheel drive. The basis is fuel consumption in the combined highway/city driving cycle.

The leader of the rating was the German crossover Volkswagen Tiguan, which showed a result of 6.8 l/100 km. Its version with a 1.4 liter engine. 150 hp The Comfortline package is available to customers from RUB 1,779 thousand*. As previously reported, last month this car went up in price by 30-50 thousand rubles, which, however, did not make it the most expensive in our rating.

Second place by a small margin is occupied by the Japanese Nissan Qashqai with a 2-liter engine producing 144 hp. Its fuel consumption is 6.9 l/100 km, and the SE package is offered for sale for 1,610 thousand rubles.

The Mazda CX-5 closes the top three with a consumption of 7.0 l/100 km. This crossover with a 2-liter 150-horsepower engine in the Active configuration is estimated at 1,739 thousand rubles.

Three Japanese models showed the same fuel consumption of 7.5 l/100 km: Toyota Rav4, Nissan X-Trail and Lexus NX.

Toyota Rav4 with 2.0 liter engine. (146 hp) in the Standard Plus configuration is estimated at 1,706 thousand rubles. And it was this crossover that became the best-selling model in the SUV segment in the world at the end of 2017.

Nissan X-Trail SUV with 2.0 liter engine. (144 hp) in the XE+ configuration is sold for 1,712 thousand rubles. Let us add that this is the most popular car in the SUV segment in Moscow.

Lexus NX with a 2-liter 150-horsepower engine in the Progressive AWD package is estimated at 2,525 thousand rubles. and is the most expensive model in our rating.

The next two models showed the same result - 8.0 l/100 km. These are Hyundai Creta and Ford Kuga.

The Korean compact crossover Hyundai Creta with a 2-liter engine (149 hp) in the Travel configuration is estimated at RUB 1,254,900 (and this is the most affordable crossover in our rating).

American Ford Kuga with a 1.5 liter engine. (150 hp) in the Trend Plus configuration is available to buyers for 1,714 thousand rubles.

Only 0.1l. The Japanese crossover Mitsubishi ASX consumes more. Its result is 8.1 l/100 km, and the price is 1,373 thousand rubles. for the version with a 2.0 liter engine. (150 hp) in the Intense configuration.

The next two Korean models coincide not only in fuel consumption, 8.3 l/100 km, but also in engine volume and power - 2.0 l. (150 hp). This is a KIA Sportage worth RUB 1,584,900. for the Comfort package and Hyundai Tucson in the Family package for RUB 1,589,000.

Behind them with a fuel consumption rate of 8.7 l/100 km. followed by not the most economical, but the most affordable crossover Renault Duster. Its Expression equipment is for a car with a 2.0 liter engine. (143 hp) is offered for sale for RUB 1,002,990.
