Router for Rostelecom telephone line. Which Wi-Fi router is best to choose for home Internet Rostelecom

Rostelecom router price directly depends on the category, parameters, power and equipment manufacturer. Rostelecom is a communications provider and works with the best manufacturers high-quality equipment, since it is interested in high speed Internet signal transmission.

When deciding to connect to an Internet connection from Rostelecom, subscribers are offered two options for resolving issues with equipment:

  • Conclusion of an agreement on the temporary use of devices (on a rental basis);
  • Purchase of equipment at your full disposal.

Today, the Rostelecom router rental price is 1 ruble per month for users in the Moscow region and is free for subscribers who live in Moscow.

Despite such a generous offer from the company to receive equipment for free use when connecting to the Internet, Muscovites and subscribers from other regions are interested in purchasing their own personal kit. There are several reasons for this:

  • The fact that there is a monthly rent (even such a small one) is not suitable;
  • reluctance to use equipment that has already been used by other users;
  • the ability to change providers without searching for a new router, changing settings and other red tape;
  • When purchasing, the subscriber independently determines the class, category and parameters of the device, which will not stand in the way of expanding the network, connecting the Wi-Fi function or increasing the access speed to the highest possible level.

Routers Rostelecom

Rostelecom recommends Wi-Fi routers of various categories to its subscribers. From selected technical characteristics The quality of reception, transmission and distribution of the signal depends. Rostelecom routers have been among the most in demand over the past few months:

  • highest category: Upvel UR-825AC and NetGear JNR3210-1NNRUS

Rostelecom premium routers are sold at prices ranging from 8,700 to 3,500 rubles.

  • standard categories: Upvel UR-315 BN, D-Link DIR 620, MOTOROLA VAP 2400 (Wi-Fi bridge).

How not to make a mistake when buying a Rostelecom router

In order to select the right router for subsequent purchase, it is necessary to carry out a number of preparatory activities. Basically, this is information and advisory training.

  • The subscriber is recommended to carefully check the Internet signal reception capabilities in the place where the router is planned to be installed;
  • Make a list of requirements and requests;
  • Test the equipment throughput parameters;
  • Correlate all points with your financial capabilities.

Before you rush to buy a Rostelecom router, the price of which may be higher than expected expenses, it is best to familiarize yourself with the current promotions and special offers that the provider often announces or consider purchasing equipment on credit or the possibility of renting and, without delay, get wireless today Internet access.

What is a Rostelecom router made of? price

The cost of the equipment is determined by the category and the chosen technology for providing the Internet - a telephone line (ADSL), through a fiber-optic cable, which extends from a distribution panel installed in the entrance (ETTH) or through an optical fiber through an optical terminal located on the territory of an apartment or private house (PON).

During the connection process, Rostelecom specialists independently make a choice in favor of one or another equipment. If the subscriber decides to purchase a router, it is worth finding out the reasons for this or that decision of company employees in favor of certain manufacturers and brands. If the cost is not the last point for the subscriber, then Rostelecom specialists are primarily concerned with the quality of the signal and the reputation of their company. When purchasing a router, the main parameters should be the following characteristics:

  • functionality,
  • access speed,
  • reliability.

Subsequently, if questions arise regarding the operation of the devices, it will be easier for remote consultants to provide assistance and answer all questions of interest, understanding the instructions and settings of mainly those types of routers that Rostelecom uses.

If you came across this article, then most likely your provider, instead of twisted pair, sent an incomprehensible cord called “fiber optics” to your house or apartment. And I even envy you a little, since the fiber optic line has the highest data transfer speed and is less susceptible to cold and other external factors.

Twisted pair, by the way, has this structure due to the fact that in our time there are too many electromagnetic and radio waves around, which greatly affect the transmission of information inside such a cable. Fiber optics, due to the type of transmission in the light beam, are practically protected from data loss.

Well, I think you know all this yourself. Now your task is to build a local home network inside the house to connect the whole family and additional devices to it. I have selected for you my TOP and rating of the best Wi-Fi routers for fiber optics.

What is the difference between a regular and a fiber optic router?

In a regular router, the input interface uses a regular RJ-45 input. This connector is also used on local ports. And a fiber optic router uses an SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) or SFP+ port.

Using a special fiber optic cable, the Internet enters the router. But otherwise, it’s still the same router, it just has a slightly different external interface. A signal from the central station of your provider goes to this port from the optical fiber.

Which one is better to choose?

First of all, look at the characteristics of the internal local network. If it is possible to use not only WiFi, then also use wired LAN ports. But as practice shows, people do not want to install additional twisted pair cable in their apartment or house.

Therefore, we immediately look at the standards for data transmission in a wireless environment. We are interested in the highest speed standards:

  • 802.11n – the highest speed at 2.4 GHz from 300 to 450 Mbps.
  • 802.11ac – a standard at 5 GHz can have transfer rates of up to 2.5 Gbit/second.

If you have few devices, and the Internet speed is no more than 100 Mbit per second, then there is no point in choosing a dual-band one. On the other hand, maybe someday you will need it. If you have a large family, many connected devices: a computer, a laptop, a TV with SMART TV and a video surveillance system, then in this case you should think about an expensive model.

Let's now look at the ports. Most often, home routers and switches use an SFP port. From a distance it looks somewhat like a regular RJ-45 port, but if you look closely, they are completely different. This is the input port through which the Internet will enter, so I would still recommend using an SFP with a speed of at least 1000 Mbit/second.

Because there is no point in using optics for speeds of 100 Mbit per second. Even if your Internet is slower, you need to understand that this figure from your provider will soon increase. Don’t buy very cheap models, as they are weak in hardware and often freeze under heavy load.

Ask your ISP if they provide you with IPTV service. This function is common for fiber optics, so in addition to the Internet, you can receive more than 100-200 channels in addition. Very often, Rostelecom offers IP television in addition to the Internet. In general, these are all recommendations for this device. If you still don’t understand which device you need, write to me in the comments under this article, and I will help you with your choice.

What you need to know about GPON?

GPON is a fiber-optic network for distributing information between subscribers using the FFTx type. FFTx is a way to build fiber internet equipment to the end user. In this case, it is FTTD (Fiber to the desktop) or FTTS (Fiber to the Subscriber) - when the optical fiber goes directly to the house or apartment of the end client.

In fact, this is the future of the Internet. And as the practice of large Internet service providers has shown, using it is much more profitable. Nowadays, twisted pair cables are most often used to bring the Internet to the end user and connect him to the central switch in the network.

Twisted pair has a number of disadvantages. Firstly, strong electromagnetic and radio influence. Because of this, the speed begins to drop, packet losses appear, when great length transfer of information. Secondly, the speed over twisted pair is limited and less than in optical fiber. And the price of a good shielded cable for external installation is higher than that of fiber optics.

Thirdly, optical fiber has a much longer range. If for a twisted pair cable the signal attenuation begins at 100 meters, then the light beam in an optical fiber operates up to 40 km. Therefore, there is no need to install repeaters so often, and workstations from the provider can provide a large number of clients at once, while being at a fairly large distance.

How to connect fiber optic cable at home? Connecting the optical cable is quite simple; to do this, insert the SFP wire into the connector on the router. It will be there alone and is often signed as “OPTICAL” or “SFP”. Next, you need to go to the Web interface like a regular router, connecting to its local network.

A router is routing equipment that directs information flows between devices, a local network and the Internet. To do this, it has built-in telephone, USB and LAN connectors that transmit Wi-Fi modules.

Public Joint-Stock Company Rostelecom divides routers into 4 types:

  • devices of own production;
  • recommended options from models from other manufacturers;
  • supported but no longer recommended devices;
  • unsupported devices, when working with which the organization completely declines responsibility for the quality of Internet access services.

PJSC Rostelecom is the owner of one of the four federal cellular operators - T2 Mobile LLC.

For a more detailed list of equipment for home Internet services of PJSC Rostelecom, see the page of the company’s official website.

Router characteristics

When choosing equipment, you have to pay attention to the following characteristics:

  • device type;
  • number of antennas;
  • number of ports;
  • wireless communication standard.

Let's take a closer look at the characteristics.

Device types

Routing equipment can be divided into 4 types depending on the data transmission channel:

  • ADSL modems receive a signal from the telephone network, demodulate it and deliver it to the user. The most visually noticeable feature of the modem is that instead of a LAN connector for connecting to the Internet, you will find an RJ-11 telephone input.
  • ETTH routers are used when the Internet goes through fiber optic lines to the recipient’s home, and inside the house it reaches consumers’ routers through classic network cables.
  • Fiber optic routers. The only difference with the previous ones is that they are directly connected to the fiber optic network without the use of intermediate equipment. This is especially true for the private sector.
  • 4G modems. Information comes to it from the nearest base station of the cellular operator. Just insert the SIM card into the device.

The most common router in Russia is the ETTH router. But in order to provide a fiber optic channel to the private sector, the provider will have to spend money. He will consider this not economically feasible or will include his costs in the cost of connecting to the service.

When routing equipment options 2 and 3 are not suitable, you are left with a choice between a wireless signal from the base station and the Internet via a telephone line. Based on the quality of cellular communications of operators and the connection speeds through the telephone network offered by the provider.

Number of antennas

Today it is no longer possible to imagine a router without Wi-Fi modules. To increase the coverage area of a wireless network, developers install remote antennas. As a rule, there are 2 of them. But in practice, there are routers with 1 to 6 antennas. This is not the only factor that affects the coating; power, radio frequencies, wall materials and even weather also play a role.

MIMO technology allows you to increase the capacity of wireless communication networks. Depending on the settings, it redistributes the load across several antennas. For example, in a 2x2 configuration, 2 antennas work to receive a signal, 2 - to transmit. In a configuration with three antennas, one works for reception, the second for transmission, and the third reversely either receives or transmits traffic depending on the current need.

Number of ports

Choose the number of ports based on how many and what wired devices you want to connect:

  • There are 1-4 network ports; on the case they are marked with LAN and numbered. I connect IPTV set-top boxes and computers to them;
  • there are no more than 2 ports for IP telephony; they are suitable for analog phones and faxes;
  • USB ports are often absent, but some manufacturers install up to 2 such ports on their models. With their help, you can provide access to a single data storage, printer, or connect wireless Internet from a base station;
  • In most cases, there is only one WAN port and it is a telephone, network or fiber optic socket.

On most modern routers, when a device is connected to any port, a light with the port identifier lights up on the body of the routing device. If you connect and it doesn't light up, you did something wrong or some part of the circuit is broken.

Wireless Standard

IN Russian Federation 2 frequency ranges are allocated for Wi-Fi wireless broadband access technology – 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The second option involves newer data transmission technologies, wider channels and less interference from other routers. This option has 2 disadvantages:

  • price, now this minus has almost disappeared, but you won’t be able to buy a budget router with 5 GHz modules covering more than 50 m2;
  • Far from subscriber devices supporting this range, so if you bought a suitable router, it’s not a fact that you will be able to take full advantage of it.

All advantages wireless transmission data at 5 GHz comes down to the fact that information is transmitted and received faster. Wi-Fi operating at a frequency of 2.4 GHz is more accessible in stores and among subscriber devices.

The documentation for routers that are equipped with Wi-Fi modules contains the name of the supported wireless data transmission technologies. It starts with "IEEE 802.11" and ends with a list of Latin letters separated by a "/" character:

  • b, g and n – standards operating at frequencies 2.4-2.5 GHz;
  • a, ac and ax are standards operating at frequencies of 5.15-5.95 GHz.

Which routers are suitable for Rostelecom

Let's consider the features of routers that are suitable for accessing the services of PJSC Rostelecom, depending on the wired communication network used.

ADSL technology

19 years ago, the first asymmetric digital subscriber line ADSL was launched in Russia. This modem technology was a breakthrough for domestic Internet access. Thanks to her, it became possible to make calls and use the Internet at the same time. Plus, ADSL significantly increased connection speed and unlimited tariffs from providers appeared.

The difference between ADSL and a fiber optic connection is that it uses the analogue telephone network, demodulates the received signal into a digital one and provides the result to the user.

The main advantage of ADSL is the prevalence of wired telephone lines. IN beginning of XXI century they reached most private homes. Fiber optics have not become so widespread until now.

  • xDSL modem ZTE H108N;
  • xDSL modem Upvel UR-344.

Both models support wireless data transfer, WPS technology, connection of USB devices, including 4G modems and IPTV. For a wired connection, you use 4 wired LAN ports.

As of April 2, 2019, devices are valued by the provider at 1,890 rubles.

With ETTN connection

The abbreviation ETTH hides the phrase “Ethernet To The Home”, i.e. "Ethernet to the home." Ethernet is the most popular wired data transmission technology in the world. You use it too.

We are used to seeing ETTH routers in almost all buildings. In ETTH routers, the connector for the local network is no different from the WAN connector where the provider’s Internet cable goes.

This type of connection is especially convenient for apartment buildings - the provider runs the line through fiber optic channels and distributes it to apartments using regular network cables. Compared to a telephone line, this gives higher speeds.

ETTH allows you to transmit information over a distance of up to 100 km without loss. When transmitting data by the operator on Metro Ethernet highways, the speed reaches 10 Gbit/second.

Despite the high cost of long-distance communication, ETTH is recognized in the world as the most promising technology for accessing local networks and the Internet.

As of 04/02/2019, devices are valued by the provider at 2,100 – 3,500 rubles.

For GPON

Gigabit PON is a passive optical network technology. The main difference between such devices and simple routers is that they connect directly to fiber optics. Most often, such terminals are used by providers. But if the subscriber lives in a private house, then such a router will suit him too. Sometimes it is used together with an ETTH device, sometimes on its own.

Gigabit PON is just one of the most promising types of PON. In addition, there are ATM PON, Broadband PON, Ethernet PON, Gigabit Ethernet PON and 10 Gigabit Ethernet PON.

How to connect the router correctly

To connect the router, follow 3 steps:

  1. Insert the power cord into it and make sure that the leftmost indicator on the front panel lights up.
  2. Insert the cable provided by your provider into the connector labeled WAN.
  3. Connect your laptop or PC to the router's LAN port with a power cord. The indicator with the corresponding LAN port number on the front panel should light up.

In order for the Internet to work and the corresponding indicator to light up, you need to configure the equipment.

Before you start setting up your router, find the authorization information on it or in the documentation:

After that:

  1. Turn on your computer and launch any browser.
  2. Type the IP address into your browser's address bar and press Enter.
  3. Enter your login password for authorization.
  4. Find the wired connection settings to specify the login, password and other data specified in the contract.
  5. In the section for local network, specify the IPTV connector and enable this function if you have a set-top box.
  6. Enter your Wi-Fi SSID and password in your wireless settings. If the router supports multiSSID or 2 frequency bands, you will have to enter data separately for each subnet.

PJSC Rostelecom specifies in the contract the following settings for connection:

  • login and password, they are used to identify you as a legal user. Do not confuse them with the corresponding login data for the router WEB interface;
  • network access protocol / connection type / encapsulation type. PJSC Rostelecom, as a rule, uses PPPoE (Point-to-Point over Ethernet);
  • VPI/VCI – 0/55;
  • Service category – UBR.

To start IPTV television, use the following settings:

  • VPI = 0;
  • VCI = 50;
  • Encapsulation Type = Bridged IP over ATM LLC SNAP (RFC1483);
  • Service category = UBR.

Also don't forget to configure:

  • make a list of devices that are prohibited from accessing your local network;
  • make a list of devices that are allowed access to your local network;
  • will limit the speed and volume of traffic for all users, specific categories or subnets.

PJSC Rostelecom supports a wide range of routing equipment for any purpose. Use our criteria to choose the most suitable router option.

When connecting to the Internet, Rostelecom provides its subscribers with the equipment necessary for access. But not all clients are in a hurry to take advantage of this offer. Some people are embarrassed by the additional cost for a router, others don’t want to use a used modem (and this also happens). A number of users simply find it more convenient to have their own personal router, so that if they change providers they don’t have to get used to new system settings. There are often situations when the modem or router issued by the company is no longer suitable for the user: the network needs to be expanded, you want to connect Wi-Fi or increase the access speed to the maximum possible... there are a lot of options. But they all lead to one thing - the subscriber goes to the store to buy new, personal equipment. Let's talk about which routers are suitable for Rostelecom, and how not to make a mistake with the purchase.

  • Start by defining your connection technology

call long distance.

You can read how to use the call detailing service for home and mobile phones and how much it costs to receive detailed information here.

The second reason why you should focus on the list of Rostelecom routers is that it will be easier for you to communicate with the provider’s technical support. Remote specialists have at their disposal instructions for setting up only those routers that are used in their company. They cannot configure equipment of other brands, since they do not have the data for this and do not bear any responsibility for third-party modems. Field technicians charge a fee for setting up routers that were not obtained from the company, while they set up their own equipment for free. Of course, it’s not a fact that you will have to contact Rostelecom specialists to solve problems with equipment, but it’s still better to be on the safe side.

Sagemcom, and Zyxel. But if these brands are not used in your region, then you will not be able to cooperate with the company regarding their setup.

The router model for Rostelecom must comply with this standard.

You can find out which “annex” you have connected from Rostelecom technical support. Call 8-800-1000-800 and the operator will provide you with information. You can also try to look for this data in the contract with the company, but it is rarely written down there. There are, of course, ways to navigate intuitively by the range of connected services, but it’s better not to use them.

Important: annex A and annex B routers are not interchangeable! If the equipment does not meet the connection standard, the Internet will not work!

To ensure efficient operation of your home network, it is wiser to purchase at least a four-port model. This is especially true if, in addition to the Internet, you have television connected to Rostelecom. The provider most often uses Intercross, Sagemcom and D-Link routers for this technology.

As for the other characteristics, the consultant in the store will tell you about this. computer equipment. Specify the speed of your connection in the contract and provide him with this information, it is quite enough for the correct selection of equipment.

Attention: if you already have a router from Rostelecom installed, but want to set up a wireless network at home, you don’t have to spend extra money. Contact your provider's office and write a request to replace your existing router with a model with Wi-Fi. The company provides this opportunity.

connect Wi-Fi, you can’t do without a router.

Before visiting the store, study the Rostelecom website - recommended routers for your technology and for ADSL. In principle, any model that matches your connection speed will do. Pay attention to 4-port routers and keep an eye on throughput wi-fi channel that the model you choose can provide. Otherwise, there are practically no restrictions.

Setting up a router for ETTH will be approximately the same as for Internet via a telephone line. The cable coming from the panel to the apartment will need to be connected to the WAN or INTERNET connector instead of the network card, and then configure the PPPoE connections according to the standard scheme. If you have not dealt with settings before, pay attention to Zyxel brand routers. They are equipped with a fairly convenient automatic interface. All you need to know is the network password and VPI/VCI values. The device will do the rest on its own.

change landline telephone tariff.

What to do if the set-top box from Rostelecom asks for a login and password can be read here.

The recommendations will essentially remain the same. Visit the official website and find out what kind of router for Rostelecom a resident of your region needs to establish a wireless connection. Models recommended for both ADSL and ETTH technology can work in tandem with an optical terminal. Before visiting the store, check the speed of your connection; you will need to inform the seller about it. Also tell the consultant what devices are currently connected to the optical terminal and how you plan to expand the network. Yes, be sure to emphasize that the router is needed to work in conjunction with an ONT, this will help the specialist make the right recommendation.

Attention: if your optical terminal is equipped with a wireless Internet distribution function, you cannot connect a Wi-Fi router paired with it. The signals from these two devices will interfere with each other. You can check whether Wi-Fi is available on your ONT by the presence of antennas protruding from the case or the WLAN indicator on the device panel. As a last resort, consult the instructions or contact your provider. In fact, there are no special restrictions in choosing a router for a specific provider. You better focus on required power wireless channel, the device’s compliance with your connection speed and the number of ports. There is no point in contacting technical support or company offices to find out which routers are suitable for Rostelecom. Specialists, following corporate instructions, will offer you only those models that are available to subscribers upon connection. Advising on third-party equipment is not their responsibility.

It would be useful to study several sites with reviews of subscribers working on routers of the brand you have chosen. One or two responses on Yandex Market will not be able to give full picture. But reviews on specialized forums on setting up and discussing the work of Rostelecom, especially from users with a good history, are worth taking into account. As a last resort, on the same resource you can ask to recommend a wifi router that is better for Rostelecom. You will receive a lot of live advice from uninterested people, more useful than standard recommendations from RTC employees.

It's hard to imagine life modern man without the Internet, and over the years, telecommunications consumers want better high-speed connections. The West was the first to think about how to offer the population truly high-quality Internet that can satisfy even the most demanding customers. While many in Russia still had a vague idea of what the “World Wide Web” was, in England they were already talking about gigabit PON technology, or passive optical networks. In the Russian Federation, Rostelecom began implementing GPON, being the first to propose connecting three services at once using this innovative technology - Internet, interactive television and telephone.

After talking with neighbors and acquaintances who appreciated the quality of GPON technology from Rostelecom, many have no idea what they will have to deal with. Therefore, we will briefly explain what this technology is and what advantages it has. First of all, we note that this technology is passive, and in this case this means that there is no additional active equipment along the route of the optical Internet line from the service provider to the client.

It is impossible, of course, to say that there are no barriers at all, since direct laying of an expensive cable is very expensive, it’s just that in some places the signal is divided. For this, a special device is used - a splitter, or optical divider, which divides Rostelecom's optical fiber into several lines. The question remains unclear how such a long-awaited Internet will reach the end consumer, and what equipment is used for this.

Fiber Optic Equipment

To convert the signal into an understandable Ethernet interface, another unique device is used - ONT, or optical terminal. Devices of this type are presented in a wide range, and it can be either a standard device with two Ethernet ports and one PON port, or a full-fledged Rostelecom GPON router, which has a number of advantages in the form of:

  • four gigabit Ethernet ports;

Important! Ports zero and one are used exclusively for connecting high-speed Internet, and ports 3 and 4 are used for viewing IP television.

  • There are two connectors for IP telephony;
  • it is possible to connect interactive IPTV;
  • GPON signal distribution from Rostelecom is carried out via Wi-Fi (802.11n standard with a throughput of up to 300 megabits per second).

Users of the World Wide Web will no longer be surprised by a speed of 100 Mbit/second. Using Rostelecom's GPON equipment, Internet capabilities will soon be limited to gigabytes of information received per second. Only an optical cable can support such high speeds, especially when it comes to long distances of information transmission. Moreover, Rostelecom optics enter the apartment not through a copper cable, as is the case with the FTTH bandwidth, but by dividing the signal using a special optical splitter. After installing the modem, however, you will encounter the problem of setting it up. This is not difficult to do using our tips.

Setting up the modem

The equipment used by the telecommunications service provider is presented in a wide variety, but the first thing you will have to face in order to organize a high-quality fiber optic connection with Rostelecom is the choice of modem. Experts assure that one of the advantages of GPON technology is its versatility, and devices from any manufacturer of equipment in this series will work correctly in a fiber-optic system. Thus, the need to use rare, expensive equipment is eliminated, which can significantly reduce Internet costs. Anyone can set up a router for GPON from Rostelecom, following a certain sequence of actions.

As a rule, setting up equipment does not require special knowledge. At the same time, you don’t even have to configure the basic functions of the router, since the provider has already done this for you, but only if you bought the equipment at the Rostelecom office. If you bought the router yourself, you will have to search on the Internet detailed instructions about setting up the device, since the procedure differs depending on the manufacturer and model. You can check the modem settings in the web configuration, and for the RTK G PON ONT RFT620 ONT device, the most commonly used RTK, it looks like this:

  • in the address bar you need to enter the address 192.168.1.254;
  • In the window that opens, enter your data: username and password;
  • As for the network settings, you can only familiarize yourself with them, and you should not change the standard settings from the provider;
  • Next, we turn on the Wi-Fi module to the network;
  • change security settings;
  • set static or dynamic IP addresses.

Difficulties may arise if you use some models of routers with the ability to distribute Wi-Fi, for which you will have to configure the wireless network configuration. To set up a PPPoE connection, you will be prompted to enter the login and password provided when concluding the contract for the supply of services. Usually this does not take much time and everything happens without problems, but in some cases it is impossible to do without the intervention of the support service.

Technology advantages and possible speeds

There is no need to even say that the fiber-optic Internet provider Rostelecom has simply “outstanding” speed indicators - it’s hard to believe, but 1 Gbit/second is far from the limit. As for other advantages of “optics”, the following deserves special attention:

  • Installing fiber optic lines is much simpler, which installers have already appreciated - unlike old cables, the fiber optic in the apartment is no thicker than the refill of a ballpoint pen, and the cable is secured with self-adhesive clips that do not damage appearance premises and can be easily removed if necessary.

Remember! Despite the elasticity and strength, experts do not recommend bending at an angle of 90°, and this can be considered one of the disadvantages of the system. In the corners, a bend with a radius of 25-50 millimeters is allowed.

  • The fiber optic cable has a high degree of electrical safety; there is a risk of being harmed by laser radiation, but this can be avoided by not looking into the optical socket connector.
  • A GPON modem from Rostelecom is also a good energy saver, since the device is powered by a 12-volt element, and light costs are about 30 rubles. per month.
  • Versatility, since now you can enjoy high-quality digital fiber-optic television, use the Internet and Rostelecom telephone, and at the same time the apartment will not be cluttered with numerous cables and sockets.

Unfortunately, there is no eternal equipment and impeccable technology, and no one is immune from problems with fiber optic lines. The first thing you should pay attention to if the signal is lost is the terminal connection. Try connecting the cable directly, and if there is no power, contact a specialist. You can find out about the reasons for the shutdown and how to solve any problem in technical service. To make the decision easier for many technical issues and to receive timely information support, Rostelecom specialists suggest creating a personal account on the service provider’s website. There you can find out the availability of funds in your account, change the tariff and pay for services.

GPON Internet tariffs

Prices are different for each region!

For many users, the issue of the cost of telecommunications services is far from idle, and in this regard, fiber optic tariffs from Rostelecom can be called “democratic”, given the range of services offered. The user, by the way, can choose the service himself: home Internet, television, landline or mobile phone, terminal rental, while you can order a separate service, or you can combine packages. The tariffs, in fact, depend on the range of offers, and, according to user reviews, they are affordable today. It is also worth remembering that prices for each region may differ, and on the official RTK website you can always find out about promotions and advantageous offers.
