Any motor oil in a car engine performs three functions - lubricates, cools and cleans surfaces of rubbing parts. This additive is based on a compound of magnesium and silicon. They are able to form a film on the surface of engine parts that protects the engine from excessive wear. It is worth noting that this composition also has some restorative functions. It allows you to eliminate small scratches and chips, thereby normalizing compression in the engine cylinders, which leads to a reduction in oil and gasoline consumption and generally improves the quality of engine operation.

The RVS Master additive stands out among its competitors due to its long service life. During operation, it creates a protective layer on the engine elements, which is capable of protecting the engine from the formation of defects for 100-120 thousand kilometers.

3ton Plamet

Another additive for the engine that can increase the service life of the engine. It is based on copper, zinc and boron, which create a protective film on engine parts.

The main task of the 3ton additive is to reduce the friction of engine elements against each other during operation. The additive manufacturer claims that it is possible to reduce engine wear by almost a quarter, thereby delaying the need for major repairs by 25%.

Important: The 3ton Plamet additive must only be added to new oil, otherwise it will lose many of its properties. At the same time, the manufacturer of the composition recommends adding it during the initial stages of engine operation - up to 10 thousand kilometers.

Oil additives for a new engine

If the car has only recently left the factory and has practically no mileage, it makes sense to immediately concern itself with the issue of protecting its engine from possible damage. Most often, engine damage occurs when the filled motor oil in a car has almost reached its expiration date.

To ensure that the oil better retains its properties from the moment it enters the engine until it is replaced, you can use the Hi-Gear HG 2249 additive. Its purpose is to reduce the likelihood of wear on the components of a “young” engine.

This additive consists of organic substances. The complex itself is based on chlorinated paraffin. The formula of the composition allows the filled oil not to lose all its properties by the time it is replaced.

At the same time, this additive reduces the likelihood of oxidation and dilution of the oil. Such a problem with it can occur when it is overloaded and rises to serious temperatures, or when third-party components get into the lubricating fluid.

Please note: The manufacturer of the Hi-Gear HG 2249 oil additive claims that this complex allows, among other things, to reduce fuel consumption by 8%. But independent studies indicate that there is indeed a reduction in fuel consumption, but not by more than 2-3%.

Given the properties of this additive, it is necessary to add it to the oil at every oil change.

Oil additives under high loads

Another type of oil additive is designed for vehicles that are subject to high loads. Also, such additives are called “sports”, since they are supposed to be used by drivers who are involved in motorsports. Such additives include Bardahl Turbo Protect.

This additive is best suited for highly accelerated engines that are turbocharged. The compound used allows the formation of weak ionic bonds between the molecules of phosphorus, zinc and potassium, as well as the area of ​​the metal elements of the engine. Thanks to this composition, this additive works with turbocharged engines throughout the entire service life of the oil, whereas when using other additives, they lose their characteristics in turbocharging after 3-4 thousand kilometers.

Please note: The manufacturer of the additive Bardahl Turbo Protect recommends using 2 bottles of its product at once before the start of competitions where serious overloads in the engine are expected. But such oil will need to be drained after the end of the competition; it is not recommended to operate the engine for a long time with such an amount of such an additive.

It is worth noting the unique technology for the formation of fullerene spheres between rubbing parts, which is implemented in Bardahl Turbo Protect. Such spheres protect engine elements much more effectively than the ceramic or metal coatings and films formed when using other compounds. Fullerene spheres significantly reduce friction and act like small ball bearings.

Important: When using Bardahl Turbo Protect in a car that is not equipped with a turbocharged engine, the effect will be minimal.

Oil additives for cleaning hydraulic compensators

Another important type of composition is an additive that copes with the task of cleaning hydraulic compensators or pushers, thereby allowing the driver not to think about the need to adjust the thermal gap. Such additives include Bardahl Hydraulic Valve Lifters.

This composition consists of a patented complex of substances that eliminate accumulated deposits and minimize the likelihood of sedimentation of soot and other pollutants inside hydraulic compensators. According to studies, the use of such an additive increases the service life of hydraulic compensators and pushers by 2-3 times.

In addition to the function of protecting hydraulic compensators, the additive in question also contains components that prevent wear of other moving engine components by forming a film on them. Using such a solution, it is possible to increase the service life of valves, camshafts and other elements of the intake system. The composition also contains various “washing out” additives that remove negatively affecting deposits.

Important: The composition of Bardahl Hydraulic Valve Lifters is extremely sensitive to the quality of the oil used. It should only be added to new oil that does not contain foreign components.
