Lubricants and working fluids for UAZ cars. What are the refueling volumes of the Patriot? What kind of oil should I pour into the UAZ loaf engine?

Each car in its design includes a tank, an engine, a gearbox and many other parts and assemblies that have their own volumes. These volumes hold gasoline, diesel fuel, oil, brake fluid or antifreeze, but they differ for each model. Today we will pay attention to the refueling tanks on the UAZ Patriot SUV and consider what they are, and in what quantity one or another vehicle mechanism should be filled.

What are the components?

Refill tanks are units that contain working fluids. They periodically require replacement or refueling, just like with a gas tank. By the way, the UAZ Patriot SUV is equipped with two filling tanks, which allows you to increase the amount of fuel refilled to almost 80 liters. Few cars of this class can afford such a gas tank design.

Refill volumes include the following devices, mechanisms and parts:

  • gas tanks;
  • Patriot engine cooling system;
  • Transmission;
  • engine, or rather it lubrication system;
  • housings of both axles;
  • hydraulic power steering system;
  • brake system;
  • clutch system;
  • glass washer pump reservoir;
  • transfer case.

UAZ Patriot, just like others vehicles similar in design and having similar mechanisms, it necessarily has the filling volumes listed above, presented in the form of plastic tanks or located directly in the units themselves. It is in these devices that the filling fluid for a particular mechanism is located. These liquids include the following:

  • gasoline or diesel fuel, depending on the design of the engine itself;
  • motor and transmission oil, which are filled not only into the engine, but also into the gearbox, transfer case and axles;
  • brake fluid poured into the brake mechanism and clutch system of an SUV;
  • antifreeze or antifreeze, used for engine cooling and interior heating;
  • windshield washer fluid, which is filled into the windshield and rear window washer reservoir.

So now let's look at digital values of all the above-mentioned devices, what volumes of working fluid they have and what they represent.

Refueling volumes

For Patriot, refueling volumes correspond to the following data:

  • gas tanks: the left tank is designed for 36 liters, as stated by the manufacturer, the right one has the same volume and is 36 liters, although in fact it is known that you can add a little more fuel to the gas tanks;
  • the volume of the engine lubrication system is 7 liters, and for UAZ Patriot 31631 models the amount of lubricant is 4.2 liters;
  • engine cooling and interior heating system - 12 l, and for a radiator with horizontal tubes the capacity is 14 l;
  • The manual gearbox has a volume of 2.5 liters;
  • the transfer case is about 0.8 liters;
  • The front and rear axles of the rogue have filling volumes that differ in value from each other. So for front axle Typical oil filling is 1.5 liters, and for the rear axle - 1.4 liters. But in fact, it is recommended to pour more than 1.4 liters of oil into the rear axle housing so that the working elements inside are completely absorbed by the lubricant;
  • power steering - 1.1, and for the UAZ-31631 model - 1.3l;
  • steering gear - 0.25;
  • clutch drive is 0.18l;
  • brake mechanism - 0.6l;
  • shock absorbers - 0.32, but it all depends on the devices used in the suspension design;
  • The windshield washer reservoir is 5 liters.
  • All these parameters are important and every owner of his car should have all the numbers. Otherwise, you can always refer to the car’s operating instructions and find out even the smallest details. If you have questions or feedback, you can always leave it at the end of each material.

Today you can hear many different names for one of the oldest creations of the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant: “Loaf”, “Tablet”, “Loaf”. Their story began in 1965, when the first UAZ series rolled off the assembly line, and continues to this day. During this time, the model received updates several times, but even after decades of mass production, design changes never appeared in it. Utility Loaves were presented only with front-wheel drive and included a range of vehicles: carriage models, vans, trucks, minibuses and medical vehicles.

Over more than 50 years of production history, the model was completed different engines– UMP and ZMZ with working volumes of 2.45, 2.7 and 2.9 liters. Since the 60s, 4-cylinder 2.45 liter units producing 74-76 hp have been operating under the hood. with 4-speed manual transmission. A little later, the engine was replaced with a 2.9-liter engine with 84 and 86 hp. And the injection version with 99 hp is responsible for the operation of the car 22069. With each new engine, the Bukhanka became more economical and dynamic, which only fueled the interest of fans of the domestic automobile industry in it. You can find out what kind of oil and how much to pour into the listed engines further in the article.

Of course, when compared with modern imported cars of the same class, the Russian Bukhanka looks very modest and unusual. However, we should not forget that the initial purpose of the vehicle’s production was to conquer off-road conditions and satisfy the transport needs of the army. Accordingly, in the struggle between endurance, overload and external beauty, the winner was obvious. But the Bukhanka is well adapted to tuning and does not consume so much fuel: 8.4-11.5 liters per 100 km on the highway, depending on the load, and up to 14.5 liters in the urban cycle.

Standards for consumption of fuels and lubricants in road transport Р3112194-0366-97

approved by the Ministry of Transport Russian Federation February 18, 1997 Valid until January 1, 2002) (Only basic figures, only in relation to UAZ vehicles. Full document: local copy from the Avto-Garant website)

Fuel consumption rates

The standards include the fuel consumption required to carry out the transport process... For cars general purpose established... the basic norm in liters per 100 km of vehicle mileage...

Fuel consumption rates increase (including) under the following conditions:

  • work in winter time: in the southern regions of the country - up to 5%, in the northern regions of the country - up to 15%, in the regions of the Far North and areas equated to the regions of the Far North - up to 20%, in other regions of the country - up to 10% (the maximum values of winter allowances for almost all regions of central Russia are 10%, valid for 5 months a year);
  • work in cities
    with a population of over 2.5 million people - up to 20%;
    with a population of 0.5 to 2.5 million people - up to 15%;
    with a population of up to 0.5 million people - up to 10%;
  • during the first thousand kilometers run by cars that came out of overhaul and new ones, as well as... when driving such vehicles under their own power - up to 10%;
  • for cars that have been in operation for more than 8 years - up to 5%;
  • work in difficult road conditions during seasonal thaw, snow or sand drifts, floods and other natural disasters - up to 35%;

Fuel consumption rates are decreasing (including):

  • when working on roads outside the suburban area made of cement concrete, asphalt concrete, paving stones, mosaics on flat, slightly hilly terrain (altitude up to 300 m) - up to 15%.

In the case when the car is operated outside a city with a population of more than 2.5 million people. in a zone up to 50 km from the city border, as well as for cities with a population of 0.5 to 2.4 million people. in an area up to 15 km from the city border and with a population of less than 0.5 million people. in a zone of up to 5 km, correction factors (increasing or decreasing) are not applied. If it is necessary to apply several surcharges simultaneously, the fuel consumption rate is set taking into account the sum or difference of these surcharges.

For internal garage travel and technical needs... fuel consumption increases to 1.0% of the total; when cars are idle... in the winter and cold seasons with the engine running, set the standard fuel consumption on the basis that one hour of idle time corresponds to 5 km of vehicle mileage. For vans operating on an hourly basis, the normalized fuel consumption value is determined similarly passenger cars taking into account the premium for work with hourly wages (10%).

Owners of the domestic UAZ Patriot SUV are well acquainted with home repairs. This car can only conditionally be attributed to modern cars, but on the other hand, this can be considered its undeniable advantage, due to its simple design. Thanks to this, owners can carry out a wide variety of repair procedures with the Patriot, including the most complex ones. In addition, this is supported by a developed service base and low cost of parts. Against the backdrop of all this, procedures such as changing the engine oil seem like a very easy task. This is really true, moreover, with a replacement motor oil even an inexperienced UAZ Patriot owner can handle it. However, choosing the right oil is a rather responsible task that requires certain knowledge, including parameters and numbers. You also need to know the best brands and how much oil to put in the engine. We will look at all this in more detail in the article.

The frequency of replacement of consumables for UAZ Patriot, taking into account difficult climatic factors, is on average 10 thousand kilometers. But it must be said right away that this inaccurate indicator can be corrected. The fact is that there are still important factors that influence the replacement schedule. In addition to off-road conditions and sudden temperature changes, rapid wear and tear useful properties oil affects driving style, sudden lane changes and even traffic violation. The car in question is not designed for driving at high speeds, and is intended exclusively for other purposes. UAZ Patriot is a car that in itself is unreliable and clumsy, requiring timely maintenance. The same goes for regular oil changes. Practice shows that this procedure may be required even earlier than after 10 thousand kilometers. Such cases are not excluded, and in order to avoid premature wear of internal combustion engine components, it is necessary to check the condition of the oil in advance.

Oil volume

According to the regulations, the 409 engine will require 7 liters, in practice this figure is usually reduced to 6.0 - 6.5 liters.

How to check the condition of the oil

To determine whether the oil has become unusable, you should pay attention to its color and smell. So, if the liquid is colored dark brown and smells burnt, then this indicates mechanical wear of parts, which occurs due to the loss of the oil’s beneficial properties. The situation can become even worse, for example, when the oil contains sediment in the form of dirt deposits and metal shavings. Such and similar symptoms usually occur with high mileage, including untimely replacement. So, it is advisable to check the condition of the oil in advance, and not wait for the replacement schedule. But this raises another question - when exactly should you check the oil.

Car as a cause of bad oil

We have already identified the signs of an urgent oil change. Next, let's look at how the behavior of a car can affect the shelf life of consumables. In other words, let’s highlight a few other signs, the detection of which can indirectly suggest that the oil really needs to be replaced.

  • Insufficient engine power
  • Increased fuel consumption
  • Increased oil consumption
  • Unclear gear shifting
  • Noises and vibrations

If any of these signs appear, it would be a good idea to check the condition of the oil.

How to choose the right oil for UAZ Patriot

The main engine for this SUV is the gasoline ZMZ-409, which is more common than the imported 2.2-liter diesel engine. But whatever the country of origin in which these engines are developed, only the highest quality oil should be selected for them.

Let's consider which oil is best suited for a popular SUV, based on tolerance parameters, viscosity standards, and types of oils, best brands and year of manufacture of UAZ Patriot.

Conclusion

Based on the information received, we can conclude that for the UAZ Patriot, starting in 2013, the most the best option will synthetic oil imported brands. It is also necessary to take into account the viscosity parameters (SAE) and the degree of quality (API). For example, for a 2013 model year car, an all-season synthetic-based oil with recommended parameters of 10W-50 SN is suitable. For the more modern 2017 model, the preferred option would be 0W-50 SN synthetic oil, which is very effective in the cold season.

Engine UMZ 417 UAZ 469, 452 Loaf

Short description

The UMZ 417 engine was intended for installation in Russian all-terrain vehicles from the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, such as the UAZ 469 and UAZ 452 “Loaf”.
Peculiarities. The UMZ 417 engine came to replace the UMZ 414. The engine acquired a new cylinder head identical to the cylinder head of the GAZ-24 (ZMZ-402) car. At the same time, the compression ratio increased from 6.7 to 7.0. The configurations also affected the gas distribution mechanism - a different camshaft and new intake valves(the diameter of the cap is increased to 47 mm). A cylinder head with round windows for a manifold; on earlier engines, a manifold for a single-chamber carburetor. Two-chamber carburetor on engines with index 4178.
The problems of the motor have long been known - low quality parts and assembly, problematic cooling system (the engine is prone to overheating), oil leaks from everywhere, even through the block.
The service life of the UMZ-417 engine is about 150 thousand km.
The engine has a number of modifications (see below).

Engine characteristics UMZ 417 UAZ 469, 452 Bukhanka

Design

Four-stroke 4-cylinder gasoline carburetor with a contact ignition distributor, with an in-line arrangement of cylinders and pistons rotating one common crankshaft, with a lower location of one camshaft book. The engine has a closed-type liquid cooling system with forced circulation. Lubrication system - under pressure and splashing.

The cylinder block is made of aluminum with metal liners. In the UMZ-417, the sleeves are seated through rubber rings, unlike the ZMZ-402, which is seated through copper gaskets. From time to time, rubber rings reduce the strength of the block 417 engine. The block does not have stiffeners. Only on later engines did 3-4 ribs appear. The UMZ-417 block has a mount for an oil filter from a VAZ-2101.

UAZ 39625 LOAF. Changing the oil couldn't be easier!

Guys I'm changing oil always by myself. I never go to workshops because I have been working in THEIR ENVIRONMENT all my life.
If we continue to talk about the similarities and differences between the UMZ-417 and ZMZ-402 engines, then we can say that the crankshaft, camshaft, connecting rods, pistons, rings, pushers and rods are the same. The sleeves are different due to the difference in the landing method. The flywheel of the 417 is larger in diameter and heavier, and accordingly the bell is also larger in size. At ZMZ, the packing is placed in a groove in the block and crankshaft cover, while at UMP it is screwed and crimped with stamped steel plates, which ultimately has a bad effect on the tightness of the structure.
In the UMZ 417, coolant is taken and supplied to the cylinder head, resulting in uneven cooling of the engine. The ZMZ 402 pump is more reliable than the 417, it has an oil seal, not fiber. But this only applies to the old-style pump! Now new pumps for the 417 motor use a seal.
It is important to mention that the exhaust manifold on the UMZ 417 has a 4-1 design, which crushes the engine at medium and high speeds.

Modifications

1. UMP 417.10. designed for installation on UAZ-3151 vehicles (76 petrol, 92 hp).
2. UMP 4175.10. has an increased compression ratio of 8.2 for 92 gasoline. Power 98 hp Used on Gazelle cars.
