All owner reviews about Volkswagen Sharan I restyling. Volkswagen Sharan: photos, technical specifications, reviews Typical problems and malfunctions

When buying a car, I had a lot of problems choosing a model. Therefore, I would like to share my opinion about this brand with potential Sharan buyers (maybe it will help someone).

Before the Sharan I had a petrol Fiesta with a Zetec engine. By the way, it’s also quite good and quite reliable machine, really very small. So I was very surprised by the consumption of the Sharan: on the highway at a cruising speed of ~100 km/h the consumption is 5.8 liters (like a Fiesta), and the car weighs almost 2 tons; if ~120 km/h, then the consumption is 6.8 l; in the city, depending on traffic conditions (traffic jams) - from 7.3 liters to 10 liters. (current consumption is shown by the on-board computer).

In many internet sources, the Sharan's hinged rear doors are noted as a disadvantage, but it seems to me that the door on the curtains is more reliable and simpler than on the tracks. And I don’t feel any inconvenience during operation, and neither do the rear passengers.

The ground clearance is quite high. Sometimes there is a problem with parking in courtyards, so he can drive onto the curb without much difficulty. The only thing is that it’s inconvenient for my 4-year-old son to get into the salon (it’s a bit tall), but that’s okay as he grows up.

There is often information that racks front stabilizer They serve quite a short time (about 10 thousand km). My opinion is that it all depends on the roads and driving style. I didn’t change the struts after the purchase, I’ve already driven 12 thousand km. And I don’t see any problems yet.

So, I bought a Sharan: I replaced the timing belt with two rollers ($85), replaced all the filters (~45$), the upper supports with bearings (~30$), and of course the oil. I went... After driving about three thousand, I was in great disappointment; I stood in the middle of the intersection (not a single gear wanted to engage). I took it to the service station and started to figure it out. From anyone, but I didn’t expect this from the Germans... It turned out that the burghers install a tricky dual-mass flywheel on the model with a turbocharger. And a dual-mass flywheel is not just a metal block, it is a whole spring-damping system. So this system has died for a long time. In short, I wanted to buy a used flywheel (~$150), but everything I touched was, to put it mildly, worn out and not suitable for long-term use. Then I decided to replace the entire clutch with a new, reliable and time-tested clutch with a conventional flywheel (the whole set cost me $600).

In winter it started without problems even at -19 degrees. However, at -21 degrees it did not start (I did not dilute the diesel fuel with kerosene). Only later did I find out that our winter diesel fuel is designed for -20 degrees, then it waxes.

Overall, the car is reliable. Everything in the cabin is located quite ergonomically. The trunk is simply huge (without the third row of seats). With the second row folded, the length of the luggage compartment is about 1600mm. The suspension is stiffer, at least than on the Passat B5 1997. (I went, I know). But still, the car is also intended for transporting goods (is there a big trunk for nothing, or something).

Driving the Sharan gives me pleasure. Handling is excellent. I don't see any problems with visibility.

To traditional multi-seat minivans or family cars also owns the Volkswagen Sharan minivan, production of which began in May 1995, along with the SEAT Alhambra minivan, which is almost identical in design. Until 2006, the Volkswagen Sharan and the Ford Galaxy had the same body design. For the Geneva Motor Show in 2010, the Volkswagen Sharan was presented in the newest generation and was now positioned along with the Volkswagen Touran compact van and the Volkswagen T5 minibus. Like most wagons of this class, Sharan also has a variable interior concept. This means that in the Sharan, which is also available in a version with all-wheel drive called Sharan 4motion, using a special adjustable handle, up to five seats out of a maximum of seven can be reclined or completely removed from the cabin. The resulting cargo compartment, approximately 2 m in length, is also suitable for transporting larger loads, which is primarily confirmed by the massive presence of Sharan minivans in the parking lots of many furniture stores. The choice of engines for the Volkswagen Sharan 2010 model covers engines from the Volkswagen range, so it is equipped with a 2.0-liter TDI engine with three stages of power 115, 140 hp, and from January 2013 and 177 hp, as well as a TSI engine with a displacement of 1.4 liters and a power of 150 hp is used as standard equipment for the Sharan. The most powerful engine for the Volkswagen Sharan is a 2.0-liter TSI engine that the car uses Volkswagen Golf GTI, developing power 200 hp / 221 km/h. As part of the SEAT subsidiary, the Volkswagen Sharan is again sold as the SEAT Alhambra at the same price and with the same specification. New in the modern generation are large sliding doors, as demonstrated on the Volkswagen minibus or the new Opel Meriva minivan. All Volkswagen Sharan models are equipped as standard with the system directional stability with emergency braking system and anti-rollback system, with optional direct-shift gearbox (DSG), equipped with front rear and head airbags, also equipped with a climate control system developed specifically for the Volkswagen Sharan with a separate temperature and air conditioning control system rear part of the cabin, as well as 16-inch wheels with matching wide-profile tires. Do you want to buy this car in used condition? On the website you will find both a used and a new or one-year-old Volkswagen Sharan at an attractive price!

Volkswagen Sharan 1.9 TDI

Year of issue: 1998

Engine: 1.9 TDI

Greetings. I have been the owner of my Sharan for three years now. Under the hood is a 148-horsepower pulley, tested on “drums” (stand). Factory power, before the firmware was 110 hp. Mileage 510 thousand km. I bought it in 2010 for 180 thousand rubles. A very strong feeling of tearing off the hands of the former owners is still present. I updated almost everything, original VAG turbine, starter, 120 amp generator. The racks are original in a circle. Casting from Audi A6. The interior is fabric and much more. The interior is quiet, although outside, the tractor rumbles. The diesel engine is pleasant in everything, especially in low-end traction; up to 2000 rpm it’s already a tank. Passengers are shocked by the throw, kickdown when the slipper hits the floor.

My golden hands, glory to the Almighty that he rewarded me with them. That's why I do the repairs myself. I try to use original parts. The price for them is one and a half, higher, but quieter. I changed the struts all around to hydro ones. Ball joints, CV joints, racks, tips, bones, cables, handbrake, and much more on the chassis, all original. I changed the turbine on the engine (it has the geometry), after re-flashing about 135 horses on the stand, drums,. In winter I took out a summer diesel fuel, which is sold under the guise of a winter one, because of this the pressure reducing valve waxes (sticks) and begins to bleed fuel back into the tank. There’s only one way out: screw up the injection pump, and then calmly start the engine. There are no kickdown functions on this year's car. But when I turned off the USR, broke through the catalyst and changed the mass air flow sensor to 037 (the original, by the way, this is on the VAZ2110,2114), the thrust increased noticeably. People, try not to change the mass air flow sensor, sometimes it is enough to wash it in alcohol (propyl, isopropyl, ethyl, methyl), while it is wet, put it in place and start the engine. The air flow will dry it. And you will see the difference in VASE, the value of air, I don’t remember the group, but most importantly you will feel it in the traction. The fifth door stopped closing; it turned out that the wires in the package near the hinges were broken. I disassembled the corrugation, there were about 10 wires, tinned the ends, soldered them, insulated them with heat shrink and... everything worked, the wipers and all the lighting equipment. You can tell a lot, but it’s better to go on Skype - mabus66661 General impression: Inertia, smoothness, grace, solidity and many other qualities of this car. About Sharan, we need to talk not about a minivan, but about a carriage. The steering control is very sensitive, especially at speed. The driving position is pleasant and visibility is excellent. Not a sedan (station wagon), but not a bus either. Although, when a VAZ 2110 and a VW T4 are standing next to each other, their size differs little from them. More precisely, sharan, between them! I like four swing doors, it’s easier with them. There is a problem with sliding ones over time (they sag, do not close well, access to the interior is limited). My car is equipped with an AFN 1.9 TDI diesel unit produced in 1998 with an electronic fuel injection pump. People call such cars TRACTOR. But thanks to the presence of a fuel injection pump, I bought this car. Restyled cars (younger than 2001) already came with CDI pump injectors (they are more expensive and more capricious). The electrics are easy to repair and much more reliable than those of cars of recent years (judging by other reviews, many criticize Sharanov’s). The chassis is like a tank, except for the A-pillars. I would install racks one and a half times larger in diameter, but the car still weighs about 2 tons. In winter for good review comfortable Windshield heated (consumes about 30 amperes). About the interior, it is spartan, only the front seats are heated. There are oars in the back and electric lifts in front. Side mirrors on cables without heating, I like them (more reliable, lubricated and no electronics), these were on my Audi 80 B3.
