Procedure for replacing spark plugs on Nissan cars. Nissan Qashqai spark plugs: description, characteristics, replacement Replacing Nissan Qashqai spark plugs

Every car without exception needs regular maintenance. As a rule, this concept means replacement motor oil and filters. However, this is far from full list activities that are carried out during maintenance. A very important operation is replacing the spark plugs.

Serviceable spark plugs directly affect the stability of the engine, as well as power and fuel consumption. In today's article we will look at how to replace such elements on the Japanese Nissan-Qashqai crossover.

Replacement interval

How often are spark plugs replaced on a Nissan Qashqai? In Western European countries, the following interval is indicated - 60 thousand kilometers. However, such a period of operation is relevant only if platinum spark plugs are installed.

As for Russia, the interval here is somewhat different. This characteristic is due to more severe operating conditions and more low quality fuel. So, according to the service manual, spark plugs on Nissan Qashqai 1.6 and 2.0 should be replaced every 15 thousand kilometers. But in reality, the service life of candles reaches 30-40 thousand kilometers. Therefore, most owners adhere to the following interval. Replacement of spark plugs on Nissan Qashqai 2.0 and 1.6 is carried out every 30 thousand kilometers.

Also, a similar operation must be performed after purchasing a car at secondary market, if the former owner cannot provide evidence of how long ago the replacement was made.

Signs

It happens that the candle turns out to be of poor quality or defective. In such a situation, its resource will be several times less. How can you tell if a spark plug is faulty? In case of malfunction, it will periodically pass a spark. In fact, the driver may notice the following signs:

  • Reduced engine power (because one or even several cylinders are not working).
  • Increased fuel consumption. The mixture that gets into the chamber does not burn due to the lack of a spark, but simply flies out into the pipe.
  • Long engine starting (both cold and hot).
  • Dips when pressing the accelerator pedal sharply.
  • Unstable engine operation at idle, “triple”.

If at least one of these signs is observed, this is already a reason to think about the serviceability of the spark plug. But we also note that similar symptoms may be due to the ignition coil. To make sure the spark plug is working properly, you need to unscrew it, connect the wire and lean it against a metal part of the engine (for example, the valve cover). Next, you should ask an assistant to turn the starter. If there is no spark, this indicates a faulty spark plug. They need to be replaced as a complete set.

What to choose?

Today you can see a variety of spark plugs on the shelves of automotive stores. The dealer recommends using original products. This is NGK PLZKAR6A-11. It is worth noting that the original model has specific characteristics - a long skirt and small size hexagon (14 millimeters).

The cost of the original kit is high, so many people install analogues. These include platinum candles “Bosch”, “Champion”, as well as “Denso”. Is it possible to use iridium spark plugs on a Nissan Qashqai? Experts note that such elements work absolutely adequately on a Japanese engine. Among these, it is worth noting the FXE20HR11 products from the Denso company.

Can I use spark plugs without platinum or iridium coating? Unfortunately, in the case of the Nissan Qashqai, you won’t be able to save money. The fact is that ordinary spark plugs simply will not fit into the engine, since they have a different standard size.

note

When replacing spark plugs on Nissan Qashqai 1.6 and 2.0, you also need to prepare the gasket intake manifold and throttle. During replacement, these elements will be dismantled. But you cannot install them on the old gasket, since the same tightness will not be ensured.

Tools

Since such an operation involves dismantling the throttle and intake manifold, we will need a set of 8-10 sockets with an extension and a ratchet. You will also need spark plug wrench 14 (preferably with a magnet) and a torque wrench.

You will also need a minus screwdriver. By the way, you can make a spark plug wrench with your own hands. To do this, you will need a 14mm tubular wrench. A long bolt is welded to its end. And then the key can be rotated with a regular head with a ratchet wrench.

Let's get started

On a Nissan Qashqai car, replacing the spark plugs yourself must be done after the engine has cooled down. So, open the hood and remove the decorative engine cover. It is held on by two bolts, which can be found at the edges of the emblem.

Then access to the collector and other elements will open. But you need to start by dismantling the rubber pipe, which is located between the throttle valve and the air filter housing. How do you continue to replace spark plugs on a Nissan Qashqai? Then the collector itself is removed. It is held on by several bolts.

The first five attach the manifold at the very bottom to the head of the cylinder block. And the sixth bolt connects the manifold to the valve cover. It can be found near the oil filler neck. The seventh screw is located under the throttle assembly. It is recommended to remove such a unit first. How is the throttle secured? It is installed on four bolts.

After unscrewing them, carefully separate the throttle body gasket. Then you can safely unscrew the last manifold bolt.

When replacing spark plugs on Nissan Qashqai 2.0 and 1.6, it is recommended to inspect the condition throttle valve. If it is dirty, then it is better to clean it. To do this you will need carburetor cleaner. Before reinstallation, you must thoroughly clean off any remaining deposits and dry the damper.

What then?

So, all the manifold bolts are unscrewed. Now you can take it out after first removing the oil dipstick. Then we will see the ignition coils. You need to remove the connectors from them and unscrew the mounting bolts. The ignition coils must be removed in order.

Then we take the spark plug head at 14 in our hands. We unscrew the spark plugs themselves. If the key is not magnetic, you can remove them with a rubber seal from the ignition coil. New candles are screwed in to replace the old ones. Pay attention to the tightening torque. Candles should not be turned by force. The carving in the head is very delicate. To accurately calculate the torque, you need to tighten it with a torque wrench. The force should be about 19-20 Nm. If there is no special key, you need to tighten it with one hand. There is no need to use force here.

It also happens that the candle is bitten at first. In such a situation, you need to unscrew it. Otherwise, the threads in the cylinder block can be damaged, and in the worst case, some of the chips will get into the combustion chamber. After installing the spark plugs, assembly of the units is carried out in the reverse order.

Install the manifold only after the laying surface has been thoroughly cleaned. Tightening must be done from the center to the edges in turn. Also, do not forget to install the gasket on the throttle assembly and connect the coils. At this point, the replacement of spark plugs on the Nissan Qashqai has been successfully completed.

After assembly, you need to do a test run. If the car refuses to start, most likely the coils were connected incorrectly. They need to be swapped. At correct replacement spark plugs, the Nissan Qashqai should start with half a turn. At idle, operation should be stable, and under load (while driving) there should be no jerking.

Is there a difference between a 1.6-liter and a 2-liter engine?

Similar power units belong to the same series and therefore have an identical design. Accordingly, there is no difference between the algorithm for replacing spark plugs on a 1.6 and 2.0 engine. The above instructions are suitable for both Nissan-Qashqai engines.

Conclusion

So, we looked at how spark plugs are replaced on a Nissan Qashqai car. As you can see, such an operation can be done with your own hands. However, it is important to carefully tighten the candles, observing all tightening torques. Timely replacement of spark plugs on a Nissan Qashqai is the key to stable engine operation.

One of the types of routine maintenance maintenance crossover Nissan Qashqai is replacing spark plugs on gasoline power plants. This procedure is necessary to ensure the normal functioning of the ignition system and engines as a whole.

Replacement frequency, signs of malfunction

According to the technical documentation for Nissan Qashqai with engine volumes of 1.6 and 2.0 liters, the frequency of replacing spark plugs is identical and amounts to 30 thousand kilometers or 2 years of operation. However, practice shows that original products are capable of working for 40, or even 60 thousand km without any interruptions.

But it is better not to experiment and follow the replacement regulations, which will guarantee uninterrupted operation of the power plant and reduce the likelihood of a breakdown.

Even the most expensive and high-quality spark plugs can fail or begin to work intermittently, and this will immediately be reflected in the engine.

The main signs of poor spark plug condition are:

  • Unstable motor operation;
  • Difficulty starting;
  • Increased fuel consumption;
  • Decrease in dynamic performance.

These signs indicate that the life of the product has been exhausted or that one of them has a defect that affects its performance. Moreover, even if only one spark plug is faulty, everything needs to be changed at the same time.

But do not forget that the signs listed above may also indicate other malfunctions in the car.

We carry out diagnostics

Replacing spark plugs allows you to ensure the normal functioning of the power plant, and their inspection provides information about the condition of its main components.

Any disturbances in the operation of the unit manifest themselves in the form of various deposits on the electrodes - soot, deposits, and erosion. Details of what engine problems are indicated by the condition of the spark plugs are shown in the table:

Replacing spark plugs on Nissan Qashqai 1.6 and 2.0 is a truly necessary operation, it not only provides normal work engine, and allows you to identify problems at an early stage and eliminate them, avoiding serious breakdowns and subsequent expensive repairs.

Selecting replacement spark plugs

Nissan Qashqai engines with volumes of 1.6 and 2.0 liters use identical spark plugs - with a heat rating of 6, a threaded part with a length of 26.5 mm and a diameter of 12 mm.

There is also no difference in the products used on the engines different generations, for example, on J10 2.0 liter engines (1st generation) the same spark plugs are used as on J11 2.0 liters (2nd generation).

From the factory, Nissan Qashqai is equipped with spark plugs produced by NGK, which are positioned by the automaker as original and have article number 22401-SK81B. They are sold in Nissan packaging and cost about $10 each.

Also for this car model there are original products with an iridium electrode manufactured by Denso, their article number is 22401-JD01B.

The second option is more preferable for replacement, and this is indicated by the automaker itself, but for some reason it does not install them from the factory. will cost about $15.

One of the problems with original candles in branded packaging is that they are often counterfeited, and they are sold at a slightly inflated price.

NGK has a direct analogue to the original product; it is produced under the symbol NGK5118 (article PLZKAR6A-11). In fact, a candle with article number 22401-SK81B in original packaging and NGK5118 are the same thing, but the latter will cost less - about $7.

The situation is the same with iridium analogues for Nissan Qashqai, designated by article number 22401-JD01B; they have an analogue - Denso FXE20HR11, but in this case the price of the parts is the same.

In addition to these products, you can select analogues from other manufacturers.

Suitable for Nissan Qashqai:

  • Bosh with article number 0242135524 (electrode material – platinum, cost – $7.5);
  • Beru Z325 (with platinum electrode, price – $6);
  • Champion OE207 (electrode – platinum, cost – $8);
  • Denso Iridium Tough VFXEH20 (electrodes – iridium-platinum, price – $15).

The indicated cost is an average, but the actual price may differ and depends on the suppliers.

Tools and equipment for work

The design features of Nissan Qashqai power plants make the operation difficult, but this does not mean that it is impossible to replace the spark plugs yourself.

To get to the necessary elements, you need to remove a number of parts, but this does not require any specific tools, but you will need a torque wrench.

The rest of the tools and equipment are ordinary:

  • Wrenches 8-10 (preferably heads with extensions and ratchet);
  • Spark plug wrench 14 (with magnet);
  • Flat screwdriver;
  • Clean rags.

In addition to new spark plugs, it is advisable to purchase gaskets for the intake manifold and throttle assembly to replace them.

Replacement technology

Since replacing Nissan Qashqai 1.6/2.0 spark plugs is a procedure that requires the removal of a number of elements, it would not be superfluous to have photographic equipment to record each stage - this can be of great help during assembly.

Having prepared everything you need, you can start replacing.

IMPORTANT: This operation is performed only on a cold engine.

Let's consider the replacement technology using the example of the Nissan Qashqai 1.6 1.6 l:

  • After unscrewing the two mounting bolts, remove the decorative trim of the motor; there is no difficulty here;
  • Loosen the clamps and remove the air duct installed between the throttle assembly and air filter. We also disconnect the crankcase ventilation pipe coming from the cylinder head cover to the air duct;
  • We unscrew the bolts securing the throttle assembly and move it to the side (without disconnecting the connectors with wiring and cooling system pipelines from the assembly). The connectors from the throttle valve do not need to be removed or disconnected from the cooling.
    Please note that there is a bolt under the throttle assembly that needs to be unscrewed;
  • We take out the oil dipstick (it is better to cover the hole with something to prevent foreign small elements from getting inside the engine);
  • Remove the 7 bolts securing the intake manifold. You should unscrew the 5 front ones starting from the center and moving to the sides.
    The 6th bolt is located at the left rear of the manifold and secures it through the bracket. The 7th bolt is located on the right, below the mounting hole of the throttle assembly.
    Having unscrewed all the fasteners, carefully lift and move the manifold to the side (so as not to disconnect the pipelines from it);
  • We wipe the manifold mounting holes in the block head and carefully cover them with a rag;
  • We wipe the cylinder head cover from dust;
  • Disconnect the connectors with wiring from the ignition coils;
  • We unscrew the fasteners of the coils and remove them;

  • We tear off the candles, but do not unscrew them yet, since we need to blow out the wells compressed air, wipe them with a clean rag to remove debris;
  • We unscrew the candles one by one. If the latter has a magnet installed, removing the elements will not be difficult, since they will be magnetized;
  • Using the same wrench, we put the new spark plugs in place and screw them in a little (you can’t just throw them into the well, so as not to disturb the gap between the electrodes);
  • They should be tightened using a torque wrench. The tightening force should be 19.6-20 Nm. You cannot tighten it any longer, otherwise you may destroy the partition between the wall of the spark plug well and the cooling system channel (if such a malfunction occurs, the block head must be replaced);
  • We put it in place and connect the wiring to the ignition coils;
  • Before installing the manifold in place, replace the gasket. The manifold fasteners are also tightened with a torque wrench (force - 27 Nm). First, the inlet part is tightened;
  • The same procedure, including replacing the gasket, is performed when installing the throttle assembly, but here the bolts are tightened with a force of 10 Nm.
  • Don't forget to connect the hose vacuum booster and put the oil dipstick in place.

All other parts are installed in place in the reverse order of removal.

Spark plugs (SPS) play one of the main roles in the ignition system. Their malfunction can cause problems throughout internal combustion engine operation. The article is devoted to spark plugs for Nissan cars: when replacement is necessary, what spark plugs to install, how to replace Nissan Qashqai spark plugs with your own hands.

In what cases is it necessary to replace spark plugs?

SZ are used to generate a spark that ignites the combustible mixture.

The smooth operation of the engine depends on the quality of spark formation. If at least one of the 4 fails, then further operation of the motor will be impossible.

SZ have their own resource. According to the regulations on Nissan cars, they are changed after 30 thousand kilometers. Although SZ must withstand significant thermal and mechanical loads, they are subject to wear and can fail at the most inopportune moment. To avoid an unpleasant surprise on the road, you should do a visual inspection of the SZ at every technical inspection.

What candles should I put?

To avoid problems, it is better to purchase originals for replacement. For Nissan Qashqai, such SZ as NGK Plzkar6a with an iridium tip are suitable. The average service life of the electrodes varies and largely depends on the material used to make the electrodes.

Chromium-nickel alloy has increased thermal conductivity and high corrosion resistance. Silver has the best thermal conductivity. The advantage of platinum electrodes is their high resistance to corrosion and resistance to burning (video author - VybratAuto - Automotive information site).

Replacing an SZ with a Nissan is a labor-intensive process, so it is better to buy high-quality products right away. True, they are expensive. If you want to save money, you can find cheap analogues, of which a large number are offered on the Internet. But such savings can result in frequent replacement of spark plugs.

DIY replacement instructions

The procedure for replacing the SZ on Nissan Qashqai, Nissan Note and Nissan Juke is similar, especially in that it is not easy to get to the SZ. Although this process is labor-intensive, it is quite doable even for a novice car enthusiast.

Tools and materials

To work, you need to prepare the necessary tools and materials:

  • a set of keys and screwdrivers;
  • special spark plug wrench;
  • torque wrench;
  • new set of SZ;
  • clean rags.

If necessary, it is worth changing the gasket of the throttle body and intake manifold.

The process of dismantling and replacing SZ

If the car is after a trip, then you need to wait until it cools down. Work is performed on a cold engine.

Replacing Nissan Qashqai spark plugs consists of a sequence of steps:

  1. First, the decorative protective cover is removed from the engine. Below it is the collector we are interested in.
  2. There is a pipe between the throttle valve and the filter. To remove it, you need to unscrew two fasteners and loosen the clamps. Before removing the pipe, it is necessary to disconnect the ventilation system hose from the cylinder head.
  3. Using careful movements so as not to damage the plastic manifold, you need to disconnect the vacuum hose.
  4. The next step is to remove the manifold. To do this, you need to unscrew 7 bolts. 5 of them are on top, 6th from the left. To get to number 7, you need to remove the connector from the absorber purge valve and remove the throttle valve by unscrewing the 4 bolts around its perimeter.
  5. Having pulled out the oil dipstick so that it is not in the way, you can lift the manifold. There is no need to remove it completely; you can simply tie it with rope or wire.
  6. Now SZ are available. Before replacing them, everything should be thoroughly cleaned of dirt and oil, without dropping anything into the cylinder head.
  7. To be on the safe side, you can cover the cylinder head exhaust ports to prevent anything from falling there.
  8. Now we change the SZ one at a time. First, the connector is disconnected from the ignition coil. Then the coil itself is removed.
  9. Under the coil there is a SZ, which is unscrewed using a special spark plug wrench for Nissan.
  10. Then we fix the new spark plug in the spark plug wrench and screw it in by hand. Having screwed it all the way, you should take a torque wrench and tighten it to a torque of no more than 18-19 Nm. If you overtighten, cracks may appear on the spark plug threads and they will become unsuitable for use.
  11. Similar actions are performed for all 4 SZ.
  12. After replacing all SZ, assembly is performed in the reverse order.

After complete assembly, you need to start the engine and check its operation with the changed spark plugs.

Replacing spark plugs on Nissan Qashqai 1.6 and 2.0 is a necessary manipulation to improve the health of the engine. Thanks to the replacement, the motor will work more efficiently and longer.

In the most popular crossover in Europe and Russia, spark plugs for a 1.6 liter engine must be replaced every 40,000 km, for a 2.0 liter power unit every 30-35,000 km and no later. Replacing spark plugs is not only necessary to increase engine performance and longevity, but also to understand engine problems. Common cause Replacement occurs as the spark plugs lose their quality at the end of the recommended service life, or as a result of engine malfunctions, in particular with oil, which almost completely fills the spark plugs and prevents them from detonating.

The first sign that will tell you that you need to replace the spark plugs on a Nissan Qashqai 1.6 is insufficient engine traction when driving, dull sounds in the engine and problems with ignition. In a 1.6-liter engine with four in-line cylinders and 114 hp. in power, which is basic for the Qashqai, the main reason for replacement is time, since these motors are among the best on the market in terms of tightness. You can replace the spark plugs in this engine yourself and without significant loss of time. Replacement will only take 1-1.5 hours.

The first thing you need to replace is tools. So, to replace spark plugs you will need the following tools and components:

  • New spark plugs;
  • 14 mm spark plug wrench;
  • 8 and 10 mm keys;
  • Flat head screwdriver.

It is also worth buying a dynamic wrench for replacement, which will correctly distribute the forces when tightening the spark plugs. This key looks like this:

Before starting work, you should take a smartphone or camera to photograph the mechanisms at each stage of the work done. You won’t remember everything completely and you shouldn’t rely on your memory. If you can disassemble the upper part of the motor, then assembly will be a problem and, as luck would have it, after such assembly “extra parts” will appear. Armed with tools and a camera, we begin the process of replacing the spark plugs. The whole process takes 14 main points:

  1. Having unscrewed all the bolts, you should lift the manifold and the damper, but it is worth remembering that you should remove the oil dipstick before understanding the damper. The probe looks like a thin, stiff wire, it can be seen in the photo above, it looks like a yellow ring on top. After lifting, the collector must be secured, preferably with wire.

Replacing spark plugs on Nissan Qashqai 2.0

Replacing spark plugs on a Nissan Qashqai 2.0 almost completely repeats the replacement process on a less powerful 1.6 liter power unit. The thing is that the motors belong to the same series, which is typical for all representatives of this series - they are practically identical in structure. Both engines are naturally aspirated without an air supercharger, both are 4-cylinder, and work with the same components. Therefore, if you need to replace the spark plugs with a 2.0 liter gasoline engine It's worth looking at the instructions above.

Spark plug diagnostics

Spark plugs can tell you what condition the working units of the machine are in by the condition of their surface. The presence of soot, heavy wear or other deposits may indicate problems with oil filter, fuel system or cylinders. The main conditions of spark plugs, the consequences of these conditions and recommendations on what needs to be done are given in the table:

Don’t do it alone - perhaps the main advice to everyone who is about to perform a replacement Nissan spark plugs Qashqai without a visit to a car service center, on your own and you definitely shouldn’t rely on your own strength if the task is to be completed for the first time.

The Garage Technical Center invites car owners to any of its branches - Sviblovsky (convenient for residents of North-East Administrative District and Northern Administrative District), branches at the metro station. Teply Stan (living in the South-Western Administrative District) and on Ryazansky Prospekt (South-Western Administrative District, Eastern Administrative District). The work of the auto repair center technicians will take no more than an hour, and the replacement of spark plugs will be carried out with a guaranteed result of proper operation of the internal combustion engine.

Among the most important points, it is worth noting that spark plugs are changed on a Qashqai only when the engine is cold.

Installation errors

With unprofessional replacement, there is a high probability of damage to the plastic lining of the intake manifold; dismantling must be carried out using special equipment. tool. Also difficult is the need to remove the bolt under the throttle valve; its position is extremely inconvenient. Unfortunately, it also happens that foreign objects (spare parts) get into the openings of the cylinder head that are open during disassembly.

Often, new spark plugs are installed with overtightening, which can lead to breakage of the threads in the spark plug well, misalignment of the element - the result will be incorrect operation of the cylinders. The result of such an error may be the need to repair or replace the engine, boring the cylinder head, and this is completely different money.

What tools are needed?

Keys. You will need a set of several - a regular one for 8 and 10, a spark plug (ratchet) for 14 mm and a dynamometer (with an adapter). Plus a flat and Phillips screwdriver, a clean rag, a brush to remove dirt when removing spark plugs (or blowing).
Telephone. It is definitely needed to photograph each stage; this will greatly help when assembling the structure and is guaranteed to help avoid the detection of unnecessary parts.
And, of course, a set of new spark plugs.
Model selection: by serial numbers, analogues are allowed, parts can be purchased at our auto parts warehouse for Nissan cars.

Equipment dismantling

The placement of the spark plugs cannot be called convenient either on a two-liter engine or on a 1.6-liter internal combustion engine. The procedure is identical for both types of engines, the very first step is to remove the plastic protective cover of the engine. It is held on by two bolts and can be removed with a simple 10mm socket. There is no need to put in a lot of effort; the plastic may be damaged; it is quite fragile.

By removing the cover, you can see the manifold, which is the subject of inconvenience for the entire subsequent dismantling process. At this stage, you can understand whether you can handle it on your own, or whether it’s not worth the risk and sign up for a car service. If the procedure for removing the filter, throttle valve, or pipes is not familiar to you, it is wiser to screw the cover back in place and trust the masters of the Garage Technical Center. If you are confident in your abilities, continue along the list.

Remove the pipe

  • Loosen the clamps and disconnect the ventilation system hose from the cylinder head.
  • Disconnect the vacuum hose with the utmost care - the plastic of the manifold is extremely fragile and can easily be damaged.
  • Remove the pipe between the throttle valve and the engine air filter.

Now you can begin removing the manifold. To do this, you need to unscrew the first 5 bolts on the front of the engine, but in a certain sequence. First, the middle one is unscrewed, then the bolts closest to it on both sides of the central one, and only then the outer fasteners.

Remove the throttle valve and manifold

To dismantle this element you will need a screwdriver.

  • Only remove the connector directly from the canister purge valve; there is no need to dismantle the valve itself.
  • Unscrew another bolt from the cylinder head (key 8) – securing the cylinder head bracket
  • Carefully disconnect the hoses
  • Unscrew the 4 throttle valve bolts in any order, remove it and the gasket.

Now access to the very last manifold bolt is open, it is located at the bottom right of the throttle valve, you can safely unscrew it. The collector can be removed and put aside in any convenient way. You can pull out the oil dipstick; you can also inspect the throttle valve and, if necessary, clean the part. .(Attention! After cleaning the throttle valve, it will need to be adapted, which cannot be done without special equipment.). Now there is enough space to dismantle the old spark plugs and install a new set.

Removing the candles

Before removing consumables, you will need a clean rag - you need to use it to close the cylinder head inlet holes. This will prevent foreign objects, dirt, fasteners, etc. from getting into them.

Before you begin removing the ignition coils, you need to remove dirt so that its particles do not fall into the spark plug well during dismantling. When the debris is cleared, you can start replacing the candles; it is advisable to do this one at a time, sequentially, candle by candle.

  • Disconnect the ignition coil connector
  • Unscrew the coil
  • Unscrew the old spark plug

If during further installation the coils are swapped, nothing bad will happen, the parts are completely identical. But carefully inspecting failed spark plugs is extremely important. Based on their condition, you can always understand why they burn out. By the amount of carbon deposits, the presence of oil or deposits, or by the melted electrode, you can always find out about defects in connectors, fuel, and ignition.

Do not forget that the new kit must be identical in its technical specifications: dimensions, heat rating, clearance. If analogues are installed, they must fully correspond to the original ones; data on them is always indicated either under the hood or in the service book.

To unscrew the spark plugs using special... tool - you will need a spark plug wrench, or in everyday speech a ratchet. You need to remove the old ones no less carefully than installing new ones. When the first spark plug is removed, you can begin replacing.

  • The space vacated in the spark plug well must first be lightly “baited” using the same new part so that the candle fits exactly into the thread, without distortion. Do not use force; if installed incorrectly, the spark plug may break along with the thread.
  • Reinstall the spark plug coils
  • Use only a torque wrench for tightening, with a force of 19-29 Hm
  • Place the connector on the coils

Repeat the procedure for each candle in the same sequence, using the same force when twisting. Once all four spark plugs have been installed and the connectors have been reconnected, the assembly procedure for the entire structure begins, and here the photographs that were taken during the dismantling process will be very useful.

Assembly is performed in the reverse order, starting with tightening the 7th, most difficult bolt and then until installing the engine protective cover. The connections of all newly installed hoses and pipes should be carefully checked; the presence of extra bolts is unacceptable.
