Weaknesses of the Chevrolet Aveo, what with reliability from operating experience. Car "Aveo T250" (Chevrolet Aveo T250): review, technical characteristics, prices Chevrolet Aveo 1.2 16 cl engine description

We bought a car for my wife. Hands-on, the speedometer shows 12,000 km. Before that there was a Mercedes C 180 1995 for two. I’ll say right away that I still can’t get used to it. What can I say, heaven and earth. Budget car.

1. Appearance: Beautiful. Attractive. Aggressive with a kick. Recognizable.

2. Internal volume: Requires praise.

3. Interior: Noble and worthy of its price.

4. Trunk: Good volume. One minus is that the arcs on which the lid is held “enter” the trunk space and thus do not allow bulky items to be placed. Clearances are required for these arcs.

5. Engine: torquey, although up to a speed of 120 km (volume 1.2), then it’s unpleasant.

6. Control: at low speeds it holds the road well, after 90 km/h you have to catch on the ruts.

7. Gearbox: normal gearbox, with comfortable shifting.

8. Tomosa: good brakes, but I can’t compare them with Mercedes ones. It's more comfortable there.

9. Winter starting is beyond praise. One minus - the frozen gearbox in the hydraulic booster whistles. For some reason they pour thick oil there. It whistles for about 10 minutes, then goes away.

10. When it’s cold in the car, you can’t say that it’s hot, but this may be because it hasn’t been changed. cabin filter. And the fan blows very well.

1. The front struts get in the way when cornering. You can't see anything at all. Even when passing pedestrians, you have to move your body back and forth in order to inspect the area behind the counter. A couple of times I almost ran over a pedestrian. You can't see him from behind the counter.

2. Noise insulation: out of 10 points 6. You can hear the wheels very well. The noise outside the window (street noise) is very well muffled. On a long journey, the noise of the wheels is simply tiresome. (again in comparison with Mercedes) it’s completely quiet there. You can speak in a whisper.

3. Engine. This is one irritation. I will never buy a car again with weak engine. I myself am a mechanical engineer, I guessed that weak motor This is a marketing ploy, but I didn’t think it was that bad. In a word - do not buy a car with a 1.2 liter internal combustion engine. The consumption on my Mercedes, which weighed 1.5 tons and had a volume of 1.8 liters, consumed 8-9 liters in the combined cycle, 7-8 liters outside the city. This same Aveo eats the same amount, no less, and at a speed of more than 120 km/h, gluttony increases. I talked with Aveo drivers with 1.4 liter engines. The consumption is really economical.

4. The suspension just irritates me, spoiled by Mercedes comfort. It’s simply not pleasant to feel every convolution as your fifth point. Before Mercedes, I had two VAZ Sevens. I also drove them around Russia, and the comfort of the Seven’s suspension is an order of magnitude higher than the comfort of the Aveo’s suspension.

Conclusion. The car is good. It is worth the money and still finds its buyers today. For those who are planning to buy it, I advise you not to buy it with a 1.2 liter engine. No savings, just expense. The engine has to be constantly revved up. As a result, its resource is reduced and fuel consumption increases. At 1.2 liters the balance of power and weight of the car is disturbed (1.3 tons). At 1.4 it is more correct.

If you drove on hard suspensions, there will be no problems with adaptation, but you cannot remove the front strut anywhere - it will interfere with you. Although I was thinking, my height is 180 cm, for those who are shorter it may not bother me. On the other hand, the wife also complains that she can’t see anything, and she is 168 cm tall.

Look, choose.

Good luck on the roads.

Good afternoon.

Yesterday I sold my Aveo, and something made me so sad, I even felt sorry for it. I’ll tell you briefly about operation in case someone needs some experience.

I bought a new one in 06 based on considerations of what the money was for and what was in the showrooms (in those years in Ukraine we had a mini boom in car sales and cheap cars were rarely available). It’s funny that I bought it just before the wedding, so as not to dump a lot of money into it, but to spend it on something useful. To this day, my now wife and I still think we did the right thing.

Strengths:

  • Cheap service (if not from OD)
  • Simplicity of design
  • Simple and reliable engine
  • Spacious interior
  • Personally, I find the sitting position comfortable, slightly upright, not reclining

Weak sides:

  • If left untreated, deep chips will rust.
  • The Conder takes power, which is very noticeable on the highway
  • The gearshift lever strokes could have been made shorter, but that’s it
  • The trunk is small, but if you fold the seats you can carry a lot of things
  • It seems to me that the chassis is rather weak, although you can look at it here

Review of Chevrolet Aveo 1.2 (Chevrolet Aveo) 2005

Strengths:

  • Small, can fit in and park everywhere
  • It doesn’t break, and if it does... it’s inexpensive and easy!
  • The seats in the second row, despite the size of the car, are comfortable, wide and have roomy legroom.
  • At night, the headlights are not too bad, visibility is up to 75-90%!
  • Fuel consumption, especially with the 1.2 engine, is a joy – especially considering the prices for gasoline! And she also eats AI-92!
  • The height of the car to the road is not just high, but even, I would say, super, you can freely drive over potholes and bumps without worrying about the pan and other troubles under the hood!

Weak sides:

  • Small radius of the wheels, although it is possible that this is even a blessing!
  • The trunk is small, although it will fit for a store to put 6-8 bags of groceries there!
  • But if you’re driving it with your family to the seaside or somewhere else, I don’t know who you’ll be putting the trunks on on your lap!

Review of Chevrolet Aveo 1.2 (Chevrolet Aveo) 2007

Hi all!

All my life I drove the domestic auto industry. But I dreamed of a foreign car. And then my father-in-law and mother-in-law gave me a Chevrolet Aveo for my birthday. At first there was no limit to the joy. But then for a long time I could not understand what kind of foreign car this was. As is customary here in reviews, I’ll start by presenting them in order.

Appearance. Well, nothing like that. Cute toddler. The red color was also a little shocking at first. I thought I’d tint it and install the casting. But then I changed my mind. I only installed the crankcase protection. There is noticeably cheap plastic inside. Which at first you don’t notice, but then you understand, if it’s a foreign car, then why is it like that in the “basins”. The seats are uncomfortable. After an hour-long ride, my neck and back began to ache. It was even more comfortable in the Lada Seven. There's not a lot of space in the back, but it's not a limousine. There is no trunk either. Well, oh well, the car is not for long trips.

A car for the city and only for it. For a family of two underfed people + a child no older than 10 years old. Otherwise, the engine power is catastrophically lacking. When you drive alone everything is fine. At idle the engine is inaudible; as the speed increases, the noise grows exponentially. There are practically no complaints about the interior, naturally considering the cost of the car. There is practically no trunk. Driving more than 130 mph is simply scary, the car simply blows off the road. But if you drive around the city in a quiet mode, you can fit in 7-8 liters per 100 km.

There were no major breakdowns, just minor ones. Mainly electrical. The check engine was constantly on. Very low ground clearance after installing the crankcase protection. Hooked regularly. The most important thing after purchase is to protect the engine number from corrosion. In three years it rotted almost completely, so when it was deregistered in February of this year it cost me 500 bucks.

Good luck to everyone and if possible, take it with an assault rifle (Kalashnikov) and a 1400 cc engine. And on green)))

Strengths:

  • Appearance

  • Economical

  • Weak sides:

  • Clutch

  • Visibility

  • Windage
  • I bought a car in March 2008, before that I drove a VAZ-21063.

The first week of operation after the domestic brand is simply a fairy tale, driving around the city is a pleasure. The second week of operation was somewhat overshadowed by the fact that the first gear was not quite easy to shift, just like in a “six”, and it consumed gasoline in the urban cycle - 14 liters per 100 km, although the driving style was very careful, gear shifting up to 3000 rpm, I don’t start first at traffic lights. I called the service center and they said that the car is in break-in mode for up to 2000-3000 km, and that’s how much fuel it should consume, although I couldn’t find such a link anywhere, just an oral statement from the sales manager and the service technician.

Third week - 500 km mileage. She was carrying four more (not even obese) adults. The car noticeably lost power, and up a small hill I had to switch to third gear - disappointment! I went out of town towards Priozersk to the dacha. I felt every hole along the road, broken during the winter. I have nothing to rip off, either the car itself is not successful, or that’s how it should be. Who would have told me. I searched the forums about these problems and found nothing. If anyone responds, I will be grateful.

    Strengths:

  • Maneuvering in the city

  • I like the look

  • Cozy in the cabin
  • Weak sides:

  • You can feel every bump

  • When braking sharply, it “pecks” forward

About the agony of choice... Initially, the AV car was chosen for subsequent transfer to the wife, so we chose a small car, preferably a hatch. We settled on a Spark with a gun, although we looked at Kia Picanto, And Daewoo Matiz, and even some
Chinese. But when I came to the car dealership I saw the Aveo and caught fire, I convinced my wife (it wasn’t easy, because the Aveo has a manual transmission). I even had to borrow a little. As a result, Aveo engine 1.2.5 manual transmission, air conditioning, ABS, electric steering wheel and heated mirrors, 2 PB

    About the car...

After leaving the car dealership, joy knew no bounds, you couldn’t hear the engine, there was silence everywhere, the controls were excellent. But over time, understanding comes. We’ve had the car for about six months now, the mileage is 24,000. And here’s my purely subjective opinion. The 1.2 engine is of course rather weak, the car quickly accelerates to 120-130 km/h (comfortable speed), then barely (tried up to 160), when the A/C is turned on, the power drops noticeably. Consumption is more than I expected, I definitely didn’t measure it, but in the city about 10 liters, on the highway 7-8 liters. After 24,000 km, it seemed to me that the engine became noisier at speeds above 3000 (maybe it got too heavy), although at idle it’s still barely audible.

I like the interior the most, especially the dashboard (it’s not the same as in a sedan!!!), the seats are hard and quite comfortable, there’s enough space in the back, the trunk is large if you fold the seats, and there’s one sports bag. The A-pillars are a bit thick and slightly block the view, the mirrors are normal, you can return them back without any problems. The most annoying thing is that there is no backlight for the power windows and mirror controls - you just have to touch them. The build quality is normal (Russian), the plastic, although inexpensive, looks decent, although it is easily scratched. No extraneous noise was detected in the cabin, except for the rear plate under the license plate. The sound insulation of the arches is weak - you can hear the road.

    Review of Chevrolet Aveo 2007

We bought this AV car new in June 2007. We immediately noted the Russian service: at the beginning they gave us the acceptance certificates to sign, and only then the AV car was given out for inspection. The most interesting thing is that the car could only be viewed in a dark corner of the repair area. When asked to inspect it in the light They categorically refused. Arriving at the office parking lot, they discovered that there was no antenna. Afterwards, it turned out that there was no another set of keys. Having called the service, they received an answer that they could pick up the missing parts at any time. After some time, we arrived at the car dealership , we were told that we don’t know anything, there was no need to sign the acceptance certificate. In general, it doesn’t matter what our country is called now, what cars they sell, how beautifully car dealerships call themselves - rudeness has remained since Soviet times. How to lure money out from the client - they will get through the whole thing, and when there are problems with the purchased car - no shit!!!

Let's move on to the car. I’ll say right away that I drove different cars, I have a higher education in automotive engineering, worked in car repair shops - I have several specialties. The car is very budget-friendly. Cheap plastic panels and door trims. Smells of phenol in the cabin. The air conditioner periodically spits out some nasty stuff into the cabin. Many in the forums note increased consumption fuel, we also didn’t miss this. Considering that the trips are mostly out of town (i.e. we don’t get stuck in traffic jams, rarely change gears, rarely and smoothly brake), the consumption does not drop below 11 liters.
This is a lot for a modern small AV car. We drove a friend’s Priora to Rostov Veliky - the average consumption was 6.5-7.5 liters.

The AV car was equipped with tires measuring 195/55/15, but this is nonsense, considering our ruined roads. Two wheels ran out for 6 thousand, hernias on both sides. One died on the move, it’s good that it was standing behind them - they flew off the road but, thank God, did not roll over. We replaced them at our own expense with tires measuring 185/60/14 and at the same time bought new wheels. This did not affect the driving ability in any way; the ride became a little softer. Although it should be noted that the AV car is quite stiff on the move, during the day in combination with Not the best seat profile makes your back tired. By the appointed time (15,000 km) we went to the service center for servicing. There, the service turned out to be 1,200 rubles cheaper and there were no queues. By 18,000 km a crack appeared on the bottom windshield(it was still warm - the stove was not to blame). We went back to where we bought it. They made an appointment for us to inspect the car - they told us to come in 1.5 months. After a long and thorough inspection, the master confirmed the defect was the fault of the manufacturer. We were happy, but the master said that they would send a photo of our glass to GM to confirm the diagnosis. Like this!!!

The Chevrolet Aveo T250 began production in 2006. It replaced the T200 model and received a more modern body. The equipment generally remains the same, however, specifications have improved. The attractive design, especially compared to the previous version, made an impression, and the new Aveo quickly won a wide audience of buyers. It became one of the favorites in the market and still sells well to this day. In ten years, the car has managed to prove itself, so you and I have the opportunity to consider it from a practical point of view, based on the experience of the owners.

    general characteristics

"Aveo T250" is made in three versions. The most popular of them is the 5-door sedan. There is also a hatchback, with three and five doors. The model is assembled in China, Korea, Poland and Ukraine. Chinese cars assembled at a GM subsidiary received the highest ratings from owners. Chinese-assembled models are distinguished primarily by a 1.6-liter engine and good equipment. Among the minor differences are a radiator grille painted in body color and a chrome trim strip between rear lights, as well as wood elements in the cabin. Chinese versions are made using the sedan body type.

    Body

Compared to the previous version, the Chevrolet Aveo T250 has a more corrosion-resistant body. However, anti-corrosion treatment is very appropriate, as on any other budget car. Unfortunately, the metal from which the body is made is very soft. Just pushing the car can leave a dent in it. As for the optics, on some cars they are not sealed enough, resulting in fogging of the headlights. Mostly it ends here weak spots"Aveo T250" sedan. "Aveo T200" had a serious drawback - a weak weld seam securing the shelf between the cups of the rear pillars. In the second generation this defect was corrected.

    Salon

The interior of the Aveo T250 is similar to its older brother, but has a lot of useful improvements. The Chinese version has a beige finish, while all others have a dark gray finish. Light finishes look more expressive, but they are very impractical and need to be handled with extreme care. The interior is trimmed with hard, but not creaky, plastic. Due to the wide side pillars, there is not enough visibility when cornering. The sound insulation of the body is frankly rather weak. In the back row, passengers of average height can fit quite comfortably, however, three of them will be cramped. Compared to its closest competitor - Daewoo Lanos, the Aveo T250 interior is narrower, and the backs of the rear row seats are more vertical. But the seat position is a little higher. The luggage compartment has a volume of 320 liters, which is small compared to competitors.

    Engine

All Chevrolet Aveo T250 models are equipped with gasoline engines. The most common of them is a 1.5-liter, 8-valve unit, which has proven itself well in the last generation of cars. With proper operation, it can be used without major repairs for up to 500 thousand km. However, it happens that after 200 thousand mileage the rocker arms move out of their working position due to wear of the hydraulic compensators. Therefore, when valves knock, it is necessary to check the hydraulic compensators and, if necessary, replace them. In the cars of those who like to drive at high speeds, the camshaft gasket and oil seal may lose their tightness over time.

The Chinese 1.6-liter engine can have both in-line and V-shaped cylinders. Its main advantage is higher power with almost the same appetite as the 1.5-liter engine. This motor also did not reveal any serious “illnesses”, so you can safely buy it. There is only one typical problem - a leaking valve cover gasket.

The timing belt of both engines needs to be changed along with the rollers every 6 thousand kilometers. But the pump, which is driven by this same belt, lasts twice as long.

The car has a fairly substantial appetite - about 10 liters per 100 km, which is why many owners install LPG on it. As practice shows, motors operating with gas installations, serve no worse than on gasoline. Tuning the Aveo T250 makes it possible to improve the performance of the engine, but it is usually not resorted to.

    Transmission

The lion's share of cars in this model are equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. There will be no more than 20% of cars with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Both boxes suffer from poor sealing of the axle shaft seals and the crunching sound of the outer grenades. Therefore, sometimes these elements have to be changed. Otherwise, both gearboxes are quite reliable. The manufacturer has successfully eliminated several problems that were typical in the previous version of the car. The clutch has a hydraulic drive, which deserves only one comment - the noise of the release bearing.

    Suspension

The chassis has high energy consumption and copes well with defects on our roads. However, during sharp maneuvering, the body tilts noticeably. Therefore, the car is more suitable for measured driving.

The design of the Aveo T250 suspension is similar to the previous version - independent McPherson strut in front and semi-independent beam in the rear. The suspension is well adapted to our realities and lasts quite a long time. can serve for a distance of up to 50 thousand km, but the silent blocks of the front levers, ball joints and usually withstand a mileage of up to 100 thousand km.

    Steering and braking system

The Aveo T250 steering wheel is equipped with a hydraulic booster. This unit is sometimes susceptible to leakage of the steering shaft oil seal. Even less often, wear of the power steering is observed, which is manifested by a characteristic knocking sound. Steering ends last 60-80 thousand km, and rods last up to 100 thousand. Brake system It works flawlessly, however, sometimes it breaks down.

    Conclusion

This car deservedly received the status of one of the sales leaders in the post-Soviet budget car market. Aveo combines reasonable cost, reliability, adaptability to our roads and inexpensive maintenance. The car is well suited for any audience of budget buyers. It is moderately modern and looks better than some of its competitors. Easy tuning of the Aveo T250 will make the car even more interesting and forget about the desire to change the car for several years.

In 2012, production of the Chevrolet Aveo T250 model was discontinued. The price of the car is secondary market today is from 5 thousand dollars. But the history of the car does not end there, because since 2012 it has been produced in Ukraine under the name Apart from the name, nothing has changed in the car. The new Vida costs about 12 thousand dollars.

Automobile Chevrolet Aveo I bought it almost a year ago from an official dealer. Chevrolet Aveo sedan with an engine capacity of 1.2 liters, 16v, power 84 horsepower, manual transmission transmission I liked the showroom where I bought the car; everything was done quickly, without unnecessary fuss.

Except that when registering I had to stand in line for a long time. In addition to the basic equipment, I added engine protection for 3,600 rubles, an alarm system with auto start for 11,800 rubles. It may be expensive, but it's all done in one place, so there shouldn't be any problems with the warranty.

The total amount for which I got the Chevrolet Aveo is 400,430 rubles. Then we still had to install additional gadgets, but not in the official interior: rubber carpets in the interior and luggage compartment, a first aid kit, a sign emergency stop, fire extinguisher, splash guards, etc.

Many people say that the Aveo’s engine is too weak under the hood, but this is probably for those who like to race. I need a comfortable ride, and Aveo Works for me. The car has to be used every day, and it was purchased with this in mind. In summer you have to use air conditioning, in winter you have to use a stove. By the way, the heater is good, it warms up the entire interior quite quickly. In winter with positive side Not only the stove showed itself, but also the autostart. Even at a temperature of -27, it started the first time. If you drive on a flat road, the handling is excellent, but once you get into a rut, then skill is required. The suspension is not the softest. The cabin is quiet, the sound insulation is good, sometimes the front suspension only makes itself felt when you drive over uneven surfaces, but even then not always.

This is considered a common disease of all Chevrolet Aveo cars. The front pillars are too wide, which interferes with visibility. After a run of 500 km, the first gear began to work poorly. It turned out that I was to blame, I burned out the clutch. The service changed it. After driving 6500 km I decided to change the oil and oil filter, the operating conditions were too harsh.

As soon as the first frosts arrived, the standard windshield wipers had to be replaced; they became unusable. After driving 11,000 km, the low beam in the right headlight disappeared. I changed it too. And so special costs did not have. The money is spent only on gasoline and washer fluid. At a gas station I pull up to the 95th pump. Fuel consumption in the summer was 5-6 liters, this is on the highway, 7 liters in the city. In winter in the city 8-10 liters. The trunk volume is small if you go out into nature with friends for a couple of days. The cabin, of course, can accommodate five people, but they will have to make room. But this is not the most important thing.

The main thing is that the driver, that is, me, is comfortable. The seats are adjustable in a wide range, steering column Same. When purchased, a standard audio system was already installed in the cabin. In principle, it is not bad, but for those who live by music and cannot imagine themselves without it, this will not be enough. Overall a good car, good value for money. If you change to it after domestic car, you will feel comfort and convenience.

Chevrolet Aveo cars have become popular due to their reliability and modern design.

Over 13 years of production to the Korean branch of the manufacturer General Motors managed to sell hundreds of thousands of cars, and reviews from owners confirm high quality assembly and low maintenance costs.

According to car enthusiasts, proper care and regular maintenance guarantee 250-300 thousand mileage without overhaul, which for a Korean manufacturer is considered excellent option.

What are the features of using a car? What are the weak points in the T250 and T300 models? What the reviews show real owners? You will learn about all this further.

    Operating experience

To understand the features of the car, it is worth considering each of its components separately.

    Engine.

Initially, the manufacturer installed two types of engines on Chevrolet Aveo cars - 1.2 and 1.4 liters.

Distinctive feature of both power units— the presence of a timing belt drive.

Another nuance is the presence of an identical crank group. The main difference is only in the number of valves per cylinder.

The 1.2-liter engine is equipped with a smaller camshaft and eight valves. The more powerful engine (1.4 liters) is equipped with two camshafts and 16 valves.

Practice has shown that the oil change interval (15 thousand kilometers) is too high, so in 1.2 liter engines there is excessive wear on the camshaft.

Such problems manifest themselves after 60-100,000 mileage. A malfunction often leads to jamming of the device and the need to replace the cylinder head.

The first symptoms of a breakdown are the appearance of a “clicking” sound, as in diesel engines. The reason is a lack of oil in some engine components.

To solve the problem, you will have to change the camshaft in combination with the rockers, dismantle the cylinder head, clean and drill the jet, providing it with a larger size.

To avoid the described problem, the interval for replacing the lubricant in the engine should be reduced to 10 thousand kilometers.

After 80-120 thousand mileage, there is a high risk of the crankcase gas ventilation valve wedge, which causes the lubricant to be squeezed out of the engine along with the oil dipstick.

After 120-140,000, be ready to change the front crankshaft oil seal due to oil leakage.

In 1.4-liter engines, after a long mileage, carbon deposits form on the intake valves, which leads to “triplication,” but since 2008, the developers have managed to eradicate this problem. In the period from 80 to 110 thousand kilometers, an oil leak may occur.

On cars with automatic gas phase control and in engines with chain drive After 30-60 thousand km, an uncharacteristic “rumble” often occurs after the power unit is started, as well as the appearance of a “diesel clatter” after the temperature rises.

This problem often indicates a broken camshaft gear. If the problem is not noticed in a timely manner, there is a high risk of squeezing out the timing gear oil seals, reducing the oil level and splashing the timing belt.

The result is often disastrous - belt slipping and valve deformation.

After 50-100 thousand mileage, as a rule, it changes release bearing, and after 120-150,000 - the clutch.

Operating practice has shown that Chevrolet Aveo with a power unit capacity of 1.5 liters is characterized by stable operation liquefied gas ().

    Transmission.

After 80-130 thousand km, due to a decrease in the elasticity of the seals, oil may leak from the gearbox. Here the car owner’s task is to promptly notice a drop in the oil level. Otherwise, there is a high risk of rapid wear of the neutral and 5th gear gears.

The occurrence of an uncharacteristic “crunch” at the moment of engaging 5th speed is precisely indicative of a lack of oil in the gearbox.

In conditions of frequent trips around the city, the transmission wears out after 60-90 thousand mileage, which is reflected in insufficiently clear gear shifting.

If we compare two automatic transmissions and a manual one, the first one is more reliable, but after 40-100 thousand mileage there is a high risk of deterioration of the contact connection of the switch control solenoid.

The result is a problem with selecting the speed in the “Parking” (P) position of the selector knob. To avoid complications, periodic cleaning of the contacts is required.

    Chevrolet Aveo cooling system.

Operating experience has shown that in the range of 60-90 thousand mileage, difficulties arise with warming up the power unit due to a malfunction of the thermostat.

There is a risk of leakage or early opening of the valve to a larger circle, which does not allow the power unit to warm up normally in cold weather.

Due to the valve sinking, after 50-80 thousand mileage, another unpleasant symptom occurs - “siphoning” of the expansion tank cap.

In the same range, problems with “sticking” of the fan motor brushes in the cooling system, as well as oxidation of the contact connections in the plug, often manifest themselves.

On the 2003-2007 Chevrolet Aveo, the fan housing is located in close proximity to the radiator, which often causes abrasion of the lower right part of the unit after 50-70 thousand km.

To fix the problem, just perform two simple manipulations - trim the edges of the case and place washers at the fan mounting points.

In the period of 80-100 thousand km, the engine error lamp may light up (manifests itself against the background of a drop in the thrust of the power unit). Problems in operation are often caused by failure or contamination of the pump filter meshes in fuel system.

One of the weak points of the car is the suspension, which annoys car enthusiasts with extraneous “mumbling” in the front part.

To reduce the negative factor, it is enough to install more powerful supports on the front struts.

New supports last 70-90 thousand mileage, and front wheel bearings (80-100).

The silent blocks on the rear lever “give up” and creak after 60-70 thousand, while the front ones last longer without replacement.

As for the silent blocks on the rear beam, the resource here varies within 90-140 thousand mileage. Symptoms of the problem are loss of stability, extraneous creaks and noises.

The brake pads on the front wheels should be replaced after 40-50 thousand, and brake discs after 70-100.

    Steering.

After 50-80 thousand km, the gear shaft bushing may fail, which leads to knocking noises in the steering rack.

After 90-100,000, there is a risk of a leak in the steering shaft of the upper part of the steering system rack. The main sign is oil under the driver's carpet.

In addition, in very coldy The power steering pump sometimes hums, which can be eliminated by replacing the old lubricant.

    Electrical part of Chevrolet Aveo.

As for electrics, there are no big problems here. The main attention should be paid to the generator, which requires the installation of new bearings after 70-120 thousand km.

Also, in the range of 70-80 thousand km, there is a breakdown of the headlight range control due to oxidation at the “minus” of the conductor and burnout of the diode in the clock circuit.

Body part and interior of Chevrolet Aveo.

As for the body, there are no problems here. The only thing is that on early models damage to the rear wheel arches is possible.

The problem is eliminated by installing mudguards at the front that have a larger width.

Interior problems - the appearance over time of a large number of sources of squeaking (especially in the front panel area).

Main reason - low quality noise insulation in this place and bad roads.

Sometimes other components of the car are also fastened - seat belts, a lock in the back seat. After 50-60 thousand mileage, the interior air blower fan may whistle.

The Chevrolet Aveo air conditioning system deserves special attention - the freon level should be monitored.

Weak points of the Chevrolet Aveo T 250

Chevrolet Aveo T 250 is a model whose production started in 2006. The main differences from the older version of the T 200 are its modern design and attractiveness.

As for the technical “filling”, it remained unchanged. The nice design and reliability of the car did their job - it became popular among car enthusiasts.

The weaknesses of the T 250 model are described in detail in the “operating experience” section.

Below we will consider the most important aspects.

    Chevrolet Aveo body.

Has greater resistance to corrosion. But for better protection, it is worth carrying out additional treatment with an anti-corrosion compound and trying to protect the car from damage.

The main disadvantage is the ease of deformation even with low pressure. Another drawback is the “sweating” of the headlights.

    Chevrolet Aveo salon.

It has become narrower, so the three passengers in the back are no longer so comfortable. In this case, the driver will touch the passenger’s side with his elbow.

There are many complaints about the light interior, which makes the car more expressive, but at the same time has excessive soiling.

Isolation and visibility are far from ideal.

    Engine Chevrolet Aveo T 250.

Capable of serving 400-500 thousand kilometers. With prolonged use, valve knocking, thermostat failure, loss of tightness of the front camshaft oil seal and valve cover gasket may occur.

    Gearbox and chassis.

It has the following disadvantages - the crunch of “grenades” and deterioration of the tightness of the oil seal axle shafts.

As for the automatic, its weak point is the parking solenoid, which may cause problems with starting the car.

The T250 chassis handles potholes “excellently,” but the softness of the shock absorbers can cause rolls during maneuvers.

Weak points of the Chevrolet Aveo T 300

The T300 model replaced no less famous model T250. For buyers in Russia, the new Chevrolet Aveo is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine. Since 2012, assembly has been carried out at the Gorky Automobile Plant.

The weaknesses of the T300 are almost no different from those of its predecessor. The biggest problems arise with the chassis system, power unit and interior.

They are worth considering in more detail.

    Engine.

The following problems are typical here:

    • leaks in the valve gasket;
    • problems with the pressure sensor;
    • excessive fuel consumption;
    • increased risk of leakage from the power steering hose;
    • high risk of problems with the oil pressure sensor.

Operating experience of the Chevrolet Aveo showed that fuel consumption remained unchanged (that is, high).

Even the installation of more advanced power units from Opel did not help. Thus, the average gasoline consumption on 1.6-liter engines with manual transmission is 10-11 liters per “hundred”.

If the car is equipped with an “automatic”, then the “gluttony” is even higher.

The line of motors itself is quite reliable, but vibrations may occur due to malfunctions oxygen sensor. After 30 thousand mileage, there is a high risk of oil squeezing out of the valve cover. After 10-15 thousand km, a leak in the power steering tube may occur. During the first cold weather, there is a risk of problems with the ignition module.

    Chassis system.

If we cite the weak points of the T300 chassis system, then it is worth highlighting:

    • short service life of stabilizer struts;
    • weak struts on the rear axle;
    • the need for frequent replacement of wheel bearings.

A special feature of the T300 suspension is its low ground clearance, which can be increased by installing wheels with a larger diameter.

It is worth noting the greater rigidity of the chassis and the minimum rebound travel of the shock absorbers. This feature is a plus for handling, but a minus for comfort.

For this reason, stabilizers quickly fail, and knocking “links” may quickly appear.

The wheel bearing often cannot withstand the load. The rear struts are also considered weak, because they require replacement after 40-50 thousand mileage.

    Gearbox T300.

As for the gearbox, users note rapid wear of the 1st and 2nd speed synchronizers under severe operating conditions.

Problems may appear after 20,000. As for the automatic transmission, there are almost no complaints.

There are also a number of comments regarding the interior that are worth mentioning:

    • insufficient sound insulation;
    • the appearance of crickets and creaks over the years;
    • scratching plastic.

All other features of the T300 (including design) are not satisfactory and are at high level.

    Cooling system.

As for cooling the power unit, owners will have to deal with a thermostat malfunction after 30-60 thousand miles.

Either it fails, or the temperature sensor installed in the casing of the mentioned device breaks down.

    Electrical part.

Rarely, but sometimes after 40 thousand kilometers the seat heating wiring burns out.

Around the same place, there may be problems with the wiring that powers the heated mirrors.

The T300's braking system is reliable, but there is still one big problem - the appearance of rattling brake calipers.

It so happens that from the factory the guides have a smaller circumference, which leads to noise.

The solution to the problem is to install fastening brackets. In this case, guides and brackets, as a rule, come in a common set.

The plus is that official dealer fixes this problem free of charge (under warranty).

The body part and its coating are not satisfactory. The car covers a long mileage without obvious damage and is resistant to rust.

But there is still a weak point - the trunk lid, which becomes loose due to driving on uneven roads, and the rubber seals fail.

The interim result for the T300 model is quite optimistic. The car has weak points and most of the problems came from its predecessor.

The downside is that new troubles have also appeared that “come out” during active use of the machine.

For this reason, it is worth regularly monitoring the car and undergoing maintenance. At the same time, in general, we can safely say that the car is worth the money spent.
